Running Around In Perth

So, only 12 days to go and we´re off to Perth!
Here´s my to-do-list, apart from visiting the Perth Festival – please add in the comments if you think I missed out on something! Most I got from your blogs/FB, too :-) So here goes!

Kangaroos in the park in front of the City of Perth council building, Ore Obelisk, Ascalon

Kangaroos on the Terrace - located in Stirling Gardens in St. George's Terrace

Pen Nibs - Stirling Gardens, Corner Barrack st and St George's Terrace

Harmony of Minerals Obelisk - located in Stirling Gardens, St George's Terrace

Conic Madrigal (Enigma) - St George's Terrace

Going Home - Kangaroos with Briefcases - St. George's Terrace

Kings Park – Muttaburrasaurus, Rotary Wishing Well (and much more)

The Strike (Miners) - Perth Mint

Footsteps in Time - St Martin's Centre

People in the city - Central Park

Tree of Life - Hay Street

Arch - Corner James and Lake Street, Northbridge

Il Padrino for a Pizza, Northbridge, on a Sunday maybe. If as good as I hope make it Sundays

Bulb - Wetlands garden, Perth Cultural Centre

Swan Brewery

Freo:

Kakulas Sister

Heaps of Murals, mainly in Northbridge, I´ll also get the map from the King Street Arts Centre/FORM gallery.

And I hope to catch a pic for my Niece(s) with Mermaid Amelia. Sadly I fail to find out when she is where… I really hope we have internet in the cabin this time!

Home, sweet home...

Oh I so dread the journey. I hate flying, I hate the jetlag. Strangers so near. We´ll fly with the huge A380, so hopefully a tad spacier than usual.
Via Singapore this time, only 1 hour, not 3 hour-stay as in Dubai. I know I´ll feel sick anyways. The joy of getting old, har-har!
Never ever would I have thought we´ll be back so quickly!
But Ingo is right, why wait.
His sickness shows me often that waiting is a dumb idea.

I really do hope for rain once in a while. The eucalyptus trees in the caravan park smell sooooo good then! And I just love the sound of rain dripping on the cabin´s roof.

I´ll e-mail you to check contacts are still the actual ones for a meet-up, right? :-)

Please add if you know what else to have a look at. If there is time and you feel like it, be our guide, I offer coffee, cake, Pizza or such in exchange.

And please ignore that very likely my head will be red as a fire-extinguisher – I´m getting old!
I used to laugh about my Dad complaining it´s hot, once we go over 20C. Thanks, Dad, your genes have arrived…

See you soon, huh?

3 hour stay in Dubai : They guarantee at least one ceremonial praying ritual! Imagine: The music stops and the mullah starts something like singing (I didn't understand, but the domestics fall to the ground) The international travelers still shaking heads.
P.S. Dubai is a land where: "Ali Baba and the 40 thieves" come from! Lots of them we have here in Germany. The Australians can be proud of the "No Way" campaign .

We can meet up too of course before I leave on the 20th!
Here is an interesting link I found about the public art in Perth and Fremantle (a long list of statues you will enjoy)

I haven't been to Perth for ages ... but are you interested in Rottnest Island?? Pilchard is SO keen to go there - but only because there are birds he wants to see! Forget the scenery, it's all about birding for him these days!

Good list Iris! There's so much art around so if you get the map from Mum or the link Sami sent through that should keep you busy for a little while!

It really is the perfect time to come to Perth, the Fringe festival is AWESOME (check out the website here: http://www.fringeworld.com.au/ to see what they've got going on)I would definitely at least go have a drink in the Urban Orchard and I believe Mermaid Amelia will be appearing in the Mermaid tank in the Pleasure Garden.

And if you're planning to go to Fremantle anyway, you should go have a meal at Little Creatures (https://littlecreatures.com.au/venues/1-fremantle-brewery)- its my favourite place in Fremantle!

@Sarah: That would be great! We arrive (very groggy) on Feb 4th and leave on March 10th - does it match? If so I´d need your cellnumber :-)
@Sami, all printed out, great link, thank you!
@Red: Rotto, hmmm, let´s see, so far we weren´t. But birds are not really my interest, to be honest... I´ve never seen quokkas for real so far, though. And they look kinda very cute :-)
@Aimee: Yips, your Mum also told me about the festival :-) Urban Orchard is on the list, too, and thank you for the tip on Mermaid Amelia! Little Creatures: On the list! Thanks!
