Milestone: Five Million Pageviews

Confession time - I tend to be a "milestone marker." That's not to say that I sit by the Interstate with a "Mile 35" sign in my hands, but I do like to recognize milestones when they come up. For example, I've been wanting to do a Little Bighorn game for quite a few years and since this year is the sesquicentennial of the battle I've used that as motivation for the project. Hopefully it comes to fruition despite (numerous) distractions!!

So when you look way down to the bottom of the page you'll see a milestone. By the time you read this post our blog will have had well over five million pageviews. I think that's pretty cool - not that we're famous or anything, but this number (as well as appearing in the pages of no less august a publication than Wargames Illustrated, a few years ago) gives us a bit of visibility, and I hope credibility, in the hobby.

Thank yous are in order, first to my fellow posters on this blog, but mostly to the readers (including hopefully not too many Russian bots) that generate all those pageviews. As I've said before, if you keep on reading, we'll keep on writing, and please leave comments, we love to hear what you think.

Three Million Pageviews!

Well there's a milestone I guess... three million pageviews for the blog. It's been a pretty good run since we started back in December 2008. In fact looking back at the posts from the old days is good fun, what with Spacekrieg, old battle reports, new insane projects that became long-term obsessions, and of course our intermittent dunking on Games Workshop (I cannot believe that our "145" post from 2012 is still near the top of the "most viewed posts of all time" list, I guess I shouldn't be surprised given the number of comments it generated)

The best part is that 2,121 posts, 7,548 comments, and 394 followers later, we're still having fun with this blogging thing. You keep reading and we'll keep writing! And if you have a favourite post or memory from the blog, I invite you to post it in the comments!

Cheers,

Dallas

ps I hope you like the image above... I thought it was apropos considering the recent passing of the Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne... RIP

Milestone: 1,500,000 pageviews!

Just a bit of a brag here... the blog has now passed 1,500,000 pageviews! We've come a long way since we started, and in fact we're nearing the end of one of our most prolific posting years yet, thanks to the pandemic. But all of the effort would be for naught if it weren't for you, our readers. So thank you for reading and commenting on our posts, and we're looking forward to a better New Year for everyone.

Milestone: 500,000 pageviews!

Well, now we've reached over half-a-million pageviews - wow! Thanks a bunch to our readers for looking (and clicking), to our content creators (especially Greg, Dave V. and Byron) for putting up some awesome posts, and to "our founder" Conscript Curt C. for getting the band together in the first place!

I can hardly wait till I can post a picture of the Weimar "10-million mark" note ;-)

Cheers
