The Demon King's Army is a large group of Gloom-Wreathed Monsters. It consists of a variety of Bokoblins, Lizalfos, Gibdos, and Moblins.
The Demon King's Army can first be seen during the Memory "Birth of the Demon King", which takes place during the Era of Foundation. In this Memory, Demon King Ganondorf uses his newly-acquired Secret Stone of Darkness to summon hordes of Monsters that proceed to attack the people of Hyrule.[3] When Link and the Sages encounter Ganondorf in Hyrule Castle, he shows them the Memory "The Demon King's Army".[4] During this, he can be heard commanding his Army to attack Hyrule Kingdom and its citizens.[5] Their invasion is depicted on one of the Murals in the Forgotten Foundation.[6]
As part of the "Destroy Ganondorf" Main Quest, Link encounters the Demon King's Army at Gloom's Lair, which starts the War in the Depths of Hyrule. The Demon King's Army takes up the first four waves of the War. If Link has awakened any of the Sages, they will appear to help him fight against the Army.
After the Demon King's Army is defeated, the following Bosses may if Link has not already defeated them: Colgera, Marbled Gohma, Mucktorok, Queen Gibdo, Seized Construct, and five Phantom Ganons, in that order. If Link has defeated all of them, the Sages will stay behind to fight their respective Bosses while Link continues on to face Demon King Ganondorf.

Age of Imprisonment
As was depicted in Tears of the Kingdom, the Demon King's Army is a force of Monsters loyal to Demon King Ganondorf. At the end of the Scenario "Growing Suspicion", he uses his Secret Stone of Darkness to summon his Army throughout Hyrule Kingdom.[7] He also creates the four Archfiends to serve as the Army's leaders.[8]
After the Imprisoning War begins, the Demon King's Army occupies most of Hyrule. It is impossible to complete Quests or access services that are within territories occupied by the Army. However, the Hyrulean Army can reclaim these territories by completing certain Battles.[9][10] The Demon King's Army is also capable of attacking reclaimed territory, which must be defended by completing a certain Challenge within a specific number of Battles. If this is not done, then the territory falls into Ganondorf's possession again.[11]
During the Scenario "The Battle of Hyrule Field", the Knight Construct and Calamo face the Demon King's Army on the Surface. They do so in order to divert the number of Monsters that follow Demon King Ganondorf as he pursues Rauru and the Sages into the Depths.[12]
