Holliday/Lore
“When I find who I'm looking for, I'm not bringing him in. I'm putting him down.
There are people who spent their whole lives dreaming about moving to New York. Holliday isn't one of those people. Content with being a Sheriff in a small town, Holliday enjoyed a career where the only time she had to use her gun was when trick shooting at the county fair...then the murders started.
Grisly and inhumane; the bodies were found with their ribcages ripped open... their innards picked apart as if by birds. Holliday tracked down the killer, a travelling folk musician that the media dubbed "The Troubadour", but when she confronted him he exploded into a murder of crows and flew away.
That was 6 months ago, and while the murders in central Illinois have stopped, Holliday's investigation has not. She believes that The Troubadour is travelling to New York, and when she finds him she's going to kill that evil son of a bitch.
Overview
[edit | edit source]Holliday's motivation and wish in the ritual is to catch and kill the Troubadour.[1][2][3]
Biography
[edit | edit source]Holliday is the granddaughter of Wild West gunslinger Doc Holliday.[4][5][6] Her revolver belonged to her grandfather and is seen as a "family heirloom".[7][8] She inherited her revolver from her father, who also trained her to use it.[9]
Living as a sheriff in Macomb, Illinois,[10][11] Holliday's life before the Troubadour's murders was relatively simple, with her only using her gun for community events. She's been married more than once,[12] and doesn't want to have children.[13] She's also implied to be Christian.[14] Holliday's boots were a gift.[15]
When the Troubadour started killing people, Holliday tracked him down and confronted him before he turned into a murder of crows and flew away. The exact number of people the Troubadour killed is unknown, although The Doorman mentions it "pulled a lot of Midwest spectres".[16] Holliday had a sister who died,[17][18] and it's implied that she could have been a victim of the Troubadour.[19] The actions of the Troubadour was national news known as "the Macomb Massacre".[20][21] Since the initial murders, Holliday has been investigating the Troubadour for 6 months, with a lead that he's headed to New York.
Holliday's visual novel will tell the story of her hunt for the Troubadour.
Personality
[edit | edit source]Holliday is emotionally closed off and dislikes small talk.[22][23] Other heroes call her a "trainwreck", which she denies.[24][25] She's sympathetic to others who had troubled lives,[26] and feels remorse for killing people she respects.[27][28][29]
Holliday was traumatized by the Troubadour's murders.[30] She avoids sleeping because of the nightmares she gets.[31] She hates the feeling of revenge, but feels like there's nothing else she can do about it.[32] Holliday implies that she frequently gets told not to hunt the Troubadour.[33]
Holliday doesn't like big cities like New York or Chicago,[34][35][36] and also dislikes travelling on airships.[37] She's described as a tourist,[38] but has no intention of sightseeing.[39][40] She wants to leave New York as soon as possible.[41][42]
Holliday feels pressured by Doc Holliday's legacy and tries not to think about it,[6] but hopes her actions would make him proud.[43][44]
Holliday is vigilant as a law enforcer and takes her job seriously.[45][46] The OSIC have a file on her, where she's portrayed as "competent".[47] That said, Holliday's mission has pushed her out of her jurisdiction,[48] and she's unwilling to let the law get in the way of her revenge.[49]
Appearance
[edit | edit source]Holliday is a young slender white woman with blue eyes, short brunette hair with upward edges, and a small bang over her face. She wears a brown sheriff hat with an orange band, a reddish-brown jacket with a sheriff badge, an orange plaid scarf, a blue shirt, beige pants, and brown cowboy boots. She has a leather belt with a holster, bullets, and a drink flask. She carries her Powder Keg on her back. Her weapon is supposed to be Doc Holliday's revolver, but the current model looks like a futuristic rectangle-shaped revolver.
Character Relationships
[edit | edit source]Holliday has been hunting the Troubadour since his murders in Macomb, intending to kill him when she finds him.[1][50]
It's unknown how the Troubadour feels about Holliday, but he doesn't know that Holliday is after him. Drifter warns Holliday that, if the Troubadour found out Holliday was after him, he'd see Holliday as his "hobby". Drifter tells Holliday to let go of her vengeance for her own sake.[51]
Captain Murphy is an old colleague of Hollidays.
In Holliday's visual novel, Captain Murphy's receptionist spreads a rumor that Holliday wants to have an affair with Murphy, who is married.[52] Haze and
Krill tease Holliday about the rumor.[53][54]
Yamato believes the rumor and threatens Murphy's life to keep Holliday in line.[55]
Allie Kincaid is a journalist for the New York Oracle.[56]
Allie offers to help Holliday find the Troubadour if Holliday will let Allie interview her. In Holliday's visual novel, Allie gets Holliday in contact with Seven.[57][58]
Venator prays with Holliday before the ritual to try and help heal her trauma from the Macomb massacre. While it doesn't work, Holliday appreciates Venator for trying.[14]
Venator also warns Holliday to tend her pain and anger before it consumes her.[59]

Holliday's Visual Novel
[edit | edit source]- Main article: Holliday's visual novel
Holliday stars in her own visual novel, currently untitled. Below is a brief summary of the existing chapters.
Note: Holliday's visual novel is currently inaccessible to the main game, instead being something planned for release in the future. As such, everything in the current visual novel is prone to change, as it is still undergoing development.
Additionally, several chapters and lines in Holliday's visual novel are missing. The summary below is an analysis of what lines and chapters are currently accessible.
The visual novel begins with Holliday arriving in New York after driving all night to get there. She calls someone named "Larry" to tell him she got in New York safely. Larry asks Holliday what her plan is, to which Holliday says she's meeting with a friend who had some leads towards where the Troubadour is. Larry tells Holliday she needs to get some sleep, which she reluctantly agrees after ending the call with him. Holliday proceeds to have a nightmare about the Macomb Massacre, causing her to wake up early and decide not to waste anymore time and to meet her contact. Her contact is either Captain Murphy or Allie Kincaid.
In chapter 2a, Holliday decides to meet with Captain Murphy of the New York police. After a confrontation with the NYPD's receptionist, who believes Holliday wants to sleep with Murphy, Holliday is let into Captain Murphy's office. While Murphy's voice lines are missing, OSIC agent Marlowe is also in Murphy's office. Marlowe tells Murphy that he's out of his depth, and that Holliday needs to decide if she's going to help him or get out of his way.
There are no more voice lines in these storylines, although the in-game files hint at what could happen in the complete novel. It seems as though there's two potential pathways after meeting with Captain Murphy.
One of the choices after chapter 2a is to work with the OSIC, where Holliday seemingly works with Haze to pursue the Troubadour. At some point, Haze enters Holliday's head to find out more about the Troubadour.[96] In Chapter 4, Holliday closes in on the Troubadour in a chapter titled "The February House". In Chapter 5, Holliday makes a choice between killing the Troubadour or letting the OSIC arrest him. In the outcome where Holliday spares the Troubadour, she is extremely grateful towards Haze for stopping her from crossing a line.[97] There's also a novel specific conversation where Haze teases Holliday about the rumor that she's sleeping with Captain Murphy.[53]
Mo & Krill are likely to make an appearance in Holliday's visual novel, as they have a novel specific conversation with Holliday.[98] As they tease Holliday about the rumor that she's sleeping with Captain Murphy (a rumor that was spread by the NYPD receptionist), they likely make an appearance in storyline A or B.
In chapter 2b, Holliday decides to meet with Allie Kincaid, a reporter for the New York Oracle.[56] Meeting at a waffle house, Holliday confirms with Allie that she'll do an interview about the Macomb Massacre if she succeeds in killing the Troubadour. Allie tells Holliday that she knows someone with a "unique insight" who gave her a tip on how to find the Troubadour, although her journalistic integrity prevents Allie from telling Holliday who her source is. Allie tells Holliday that she could meet with her source or just take the tip.
There is seemingly a choice between taking Allie's tip or meeting her source. Allie's source is Seven.[57][58]
In one of the storylines, Holliday finds out that the OSIC wanted to recruit the Troubadour.[99]
