Friday Bliss #148 - Hot Colors of a Hot Week

At first I want to say how schocked I feel about the terrible damages caused by heavy rain 

& floods in Central Europe. I do wish that all my German blog friends are safe. 

On the contrary in Finland this is the hottest summer in 70 years. Heat wave has prevailed 

over Finland since the beginning June, meaning continuous temperatures at 25 - 32 C. 

It has rained somewhere but at my place too little. The garden suffers from severe draught, 

hose watering is just not enough.

I put a few orange Nasturtiums to float on a shallow bowl.

They looked really fresh on our black terrace table. Otherwise my pots of Nasturtiums

look pretty wild. I’ll let them stay for a while and perhaps soon replace them.

I have tried to keep myself busy in order not to mourn about  the death of Sissi. Have had guests 

and visited museums. Two Tibetan Terriers of hubby’s daughter Milla - Pauli and Arttu - stayed 

with us a couple of days. They brought so much joy, but suffered about the heat in their thick fur.

I am not online over the weekend. Making a short trip to Kustavi,

a coastal city in southwestern archipelago where hubby’s daughter Nana has a summer cottage.

Pahanlaatuinen kasvain. Nopeesti se käy, lähtö.

Ananas oli minulle rakkain heidän koiristaan, usein meillä hoidossa.

Tyhjältä ja surulliselta tuntuu.

My son’s lovely Bernese Mountain Dog Ananas - Pineapple was dear to me.

But her malign tumor was not to be cured. I feel sad & empty.

Friday Bliss #27 - Animalistic

This week I read a fantastic fable by the Chilean writer, Luis Sepúlveda:

The Story of a Seagull and the Cat who Taught Her to fly 

- Historia de una gaviota y del gato que le enseñó a volar 

The story tells about a seagull who is about to die due to crude oil on the sea water. 

 She manages to make an emergency landing on the balcony of 

a big fat black cat called Zorbas. The seagull lays an egg and Zorbas promises to hatch it 

and then teach the chick to fly. All this is a tough project and Zorbas needs help of his cat buddies - Secretario, Sabelotodo, Barlovento & Colonello. I warmly recommend 💕

Zorbas might look like this! This is not my Sissi.

This handsome Samoyed dog is Marlon B who works at the local pet shop.

My husband always buys him some goodies!

The Samoyed is a breed of large herding dog, with a thick, white, double-layer coat. 

It takes its name from the Samoyedic peoples of Siberia. 

And this cute girl belongs to my friend...

Friday Cosy - Perjantaimyyssit

My whole week has been a kind of Friday Cosy and still continues! Pineapple has stayed with me because my son's family went to Aberdeen, Scotland to see their daughter Helmi.  Helmi started to study psychology there this autumn. They landed safe in spite of the hurricane Ophelia, I was a bit worried... These two furry babies have kept me busy, yet happy - it has been walking and feeding, walking and feeding! We have had also sunny & dry days so a lot of raking and in the evenings relaxing reading. In total a nice, cosy & happy week.

Mun koko viikko on ollut rentoa myyssäilyä. Pojan berni Ananas on viettänyt meillä syyslomaa ja on vielä viikonlopun ylikin, koska kotiväki matkusti Aberdeeniin Skotlantiin tapaamaan tytärtään Helmiä. Juuri lennon aamuna Ophelia riehui Irlannin rannikolla, mutta turvallisesti pääsivät perille... Kävelyä, karvalasten ruokkimista, taas kävelyä ja taas ruokkimista - paljon hommaa, mutta rentoa ja kivaa meininkiä. Aurinkokin on näyttäytynyt, joten olen haravoinut ja iltaisin lukenut. Oikein kiva, kodikas ja onnellinen myyssiviikko!

I read almost every evening for reading relaxes and gives a good night's sleep. I try to keep far from chocolates, therefore I have gathered around my books fruit and selfmade creamy strawberry quark.

Myyssäilen kirjojen parissa melkein joka ilta, koska siten rentoudun ja nukun hyvin. Yritän pysyä erossa suklaista, siksipä varaan lukuhetkiin naposteltavaksi hedelmiä ja itsetehtyä rahkaa.

I could recommend you two books: Haruki Murakami's South of the boarder, west of the sun was released in Japan already in 1992 but we got it in Finnish this autumn. Pierre Lemaitre's thriller Three Days and a Life was very exciting, not too cruel. My pile of books to be read doesn't get smaller for we have The Helsinki Book Fair next week from Thursday to Sunday, so excited.

Voisin suositella juuri suomeksi ilmestynyttä Haruki Murakamin Rajasta etelään, auringosta länteen, tunnelmaltaan ihastuttava. Kirja on ilmestynyt Japanissa jo vuonna 1992, mutta vasta nyt saatu suomeksi. Ranskalaisen Pierre Lemaitren trilleri Silmukka oli myös jännittävä lukukokemus. Eikä lukupino hupene, ei sitten millään. Kirjamessutkin ovat ensi viikolla... Todella paljon ohjelmaa ja mielenkiintoista kuunneltavaa.

Last night was the first frost night of this autumn. I have put a bit lights & autumn decorations...

Viime yönä oli ensimmäinen kylmä yö, hiukan jo syyskoristeita esillä.

If only I had the relaxation skills of Pineapple & Sissi!

Well, I think that my Friday Cosy shall be okay with these same ingredients

 - enjoying these cute pets, reading & eating fresh.

Olisipa ihanaa jos osaisi ottaa yhtä rennosti kuin nämä karvalapset!

Luulenpa että myyssi-iltani sujuu näillä samoilla eväillä oikein ihanasti ja kotoisasti.

I promised to show you later some puppy portraits and now is the time.

In a few weeks these 10 puppies of my son's Bernese Mountain Dog 

Coconut leave for their new homes.

So, here we go!

Lupasin näyttää myöhemmin poikani bernin Kookoksen pentuja.
Nyt on aika, sillä kohta nämä 10 söpöliiniä lähtevät uusiin koteihin.

Floral Bliss #36

September is around the corner and our weather has been very autumn like.

I'll share with you some phlox flowers and some puppy flowers ❤︎

White phlox is so pure and innocent looking.

This year I don't have abundant blooming for I have divided and given 

so many plants to my daughter-in-law and to my daughter.

Syyskuu on nurkan takana, ja tosi syksyistä jo onkin.
Tällä viikolla muutama leimukuva plus muutama suloinen koiranpentu  ❤︎

And then to the puppy flowers I promised at the beginning.

The puppies of my son's Bernese Mountain Dog Coconut are now three weeks old.

There were 11, but one died. Here a sample of five ❤︎

Poikani bernin Kookoksen pennut ovat nyt kolme viikkoa.

Näitä oli 11, mutta yksi kuoli. Toki katrasta ja hoitamista miniällä riittää .
