Musicales Baires started out as a facebook page for musicals fans. Baires is a short form for Buenos Aires, but the truth is that they covered all the musicals in Argentina. Very recently, the project grew bigger and it turned into a TV programme which focuses on the backstage of the shows in Buenos Aires. These are the first three episodes. They are in Spanish.

PLAYBILLS: GHOST

G H O S T, EL MUSICAL
Libro y letras de Bruce Joel Rubin, Música y letras de Dave Stewart y Glen Ballard, Traducción de Marcelo Kotliar.

 Qué pasa cuando ninguno de los actores principales de la historia base sobresale o la hace creíble? Uno diría que colapsa la obra  en su conjunto. No fue el caso de GHOST porque dos actores secundarios salieron a su rescate. La obra se la roba Natalia Cociuffo desde el momento que aparece su personaje de Oda Mae Brown (la "chanta?" vidente que interpretaba Woopie Goldberg en el film) y Rodolfo Valss (en sus dos apariciones como el Fantasma del Hospital). Muy en segundo lugar aparece Matias Mayer, el amante fantasma del título. Tal cual su personaje, es quasi transparente, sin peso escénico. Ni hablar de su prometida, Molly (interpretada por Jennifer Schomberg) quien no tiene carisma pero si tiene una voz irritante. Habrá sido el audio del teatro donde los diálogos eran muy bien escuchados pero la voz cantada sonaba a lata? Hay que decir que la escenografía está muy bien pensada y los efectos especiales son muy buenos. Insuperable la secuencia final donde el fantasma de Sam Wheat se va al cielo. Las canciones, salvo un par, no contribuyen emocionalmente pero si explican la trama, que ya todos conocemos y el argumento ya se encargó de explicar. Apabullante la simpleza en las letras.
GHOST se puede ver los martes en el Metropolitan CITI.
