After doing a lovely job with Conversation Piece, Goddard Lieberson embarked on another Coward operette, his masterpiece in fact, Bitter Sweet.
He enlisted some great singers, got a new orchestration made and recorded, if not the whole score, a nice portion of it (missing were Ladies of the Town and Green Carnations and the wonderful opening...ah well) but alas Coward was not pleased and the record was never released to the public by Columbia.
Here we have the tracks, including two alternate takes.
Thanks a lot, RASP for this recording!
