Joey Contreras is a new musical theatre composer-lyricist currently living in NY. His song-cycle, "This Thing Called Love," was workshopped with Philly Music Theatre Works in 2009 and is currently in development. 

He also is working on the coming of age musical, "Wallflower." 

In addition to two concerts at The Duplex in NY, Joey's music has been performed at Joe's Pub and the Laurie Beechman Theater as well as circulated the new musical theatre scenes across the country. 

His first album, "Love Me, Love Me Not: The Music of Joey Contreras" includes eleven tracks taken from Joey's songbook. The pop/musical theatre crossover record features performances by some of the hottest and most exciting new Broadway talent.

I've recently put together three albums of music from the two fictional musicals from the television series SMASH, Hit List & Bombshell.

BOMBSHELL
The first is the BOSTON TRYOUT version of BOMBSHELL. This version uses as much Katharine McPhee material as possible, since her character was the star in Boston. Included are the unreleased versions of "Let Me Be Your Star," "Never Met A Wolf Who Didn't love To Howl," the finale reprises and the curtain call, with additional dialogue on all other tracks except for "The National Pastime," "History Is Made At Night," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith," "Dig Deep" and "Never Give All the Heart." "The 20th Century Fox Mambo" also features an alternate verse with different orchestrations.

The second is the final BROADWAY VERSION of BOMBSHELL. This one features all the additional dialogue and material from the Boston version (except for "Never Met A Wolf Who Didn't Love To Howl), in addition to an alternate take of "Hang the Moon," JFK's solo version of "Our Little Secret," and almost all the Megan Hilty material heard on the show, including her versions of "Don't Forget Me," "Never Give All The Heart," "Dig Deep," "Let Me Be Your Star," and a verse of "20th Century Fox Mambo." A slightly different version of the curtain call music is also included.
