Yosef's TROLLS and more TROLLS! (390 points)

So here is a small addition to my army 6 trolls. It was a joy to paint them, it was very easy to paint with a collection of shades, mostly greens and yellows. Personally it was easier that painting dwarfs.. I did just paint the bases, i tried to do a bit more complicated basing but i gave up on it quickly, maybe next time.

There is 6 trolls and that is 390 points.

Yosef's Trollish chaos army

So here comes a peculiar army, I really wanted to paint my 18 bog trolls I just purchased so I search in which army I could put them. At the end i decided chaos as they had no minimum. So here comes the maximum amount of trolls in the army, 10 for 650 points.

As hero leader I chosed a chaos lord lvl25, a diginified chaos lord in his nurgle palaquin count as ( still undecided in using the real palaquin or the hilarious chaos toilet) and for the last 100 points it is 10 chaos dwarfs on heavy armor. if I have time I'll do also some 20 scibor chaos dwarfs as reinforcements and 8 other trolls i have available.

And why not to add some ally giant for those extra 250 points. with large banana for scale.

Yosef's Brogio's Old World mercenaries

This was a long journey, 6 months!  Time goes fast. Here looking at what the army was going to be initially i see how it has changed. At the beginning it was going to be a cosmopolitan army, with troops from Tilea, Araby, Estalia and Kislev like on the Old Worlder mercenary list.

This was the original concept in green are those that got painted.  On blue are the Kislev ones that were commissioned painted and stayed on the kislev-middenheim project, but could be borrowed for this army. As the Kislev left the party I refocused to a more Estalian style, with  the addition of 4 more brigands , and 7 knights to protect Brogio, now exiled prince of Tobaro (instead of miragliano as the beginning)  and a Giant as their bodyguard. I also added the cart as i thought it fitted well the them, and having a wagon of supplies for the army was always a good idea, specially when the supplied was gold.

So here is the result:

Yosef's Brogio's bodyguard, 7 condeterri (179 points)

Ok so here we are at the end of the challenge, and the army is looking quite different to what i started with 6 months ago. Here is the bodyguard of borgio, 7 tilean condeterri, with a champion for 179 points. I was searching all week for those damn shields to make it a 193 points unit, or even using them as templars, but after the move they are not found anywhere. Also their original horses are not something I think fitted so much (completely unarmoured!) so I used later armored ones, they don't stay perfectly on those smaller horses, but for now it should be fine.

Personally I like a lot the look of those early citadel multi part knight, as they have a right amount of part (3 to be exact, body, arm and legs) compared to modern models with around 8-12... Only I think the lances being so thin I never managed to straighten those long lead lances, but at least they do not crack like so many of the middlehammer ones.

So that is it, still searching for all the parts of the army after the move, I'll need to unify a bit better the basing across the army (some had with all the base on brown and some had just the top part.) and repairing the chariot, i ll take next month a picture of the whole army.

Yosef's mercenary giant (250pts)

So as i continued the army, i felt it needed some punch, and what better to bring to a mercenary army than a mercenary Giant! So i had this little guy around that i got for 3$ on a joke bid on ebay, and  i decided to paint him, by far the cheapest miniature, and the only non-citadel/marauder one. But at the same point the most expensive one in points at 250!

Yosef's Villagers and guns.(200 pts)

So getting ready for moving house, and with reducing the stash taking most of my hobby time, i had time to paint the models by the 11th but not to write the post.

So here is  the unit of villagers. (count as brigands in the army list) with their musician and champion( the noble woman in the front rank) for 16*7+7+33 for a total of 152 points.

The funny thing of this units is that there is so many different ranges on the unit. Extra points for those that recognize it without using sololegends or similar ...

Shame, got too busy with dinosaurs to paint ....-mulligan post

So this moth was just too busy at work , we finally showed our product in one of the industry biggest conferences in Vegas, so between preparing that and the follow up was much heavier than expected and then i had some family matters in Spain , and then a local conference this week, the only time for the hobby i had was between emails checking some fb groups. (it can be done in places were painting miniatures is impossible.). So i am taking this month my mulligan.
So shamelessly i can't show any painted miniatures, but i could show a very realistic looking dinosaur (ray  traced at 60fps on a tablet). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QSFG5NIwDZE ...

Yosef's Borgio on a Bear and some gunners (208 points)

So this month was a bit hectic and most of the time i had to paint was on tree days, but i arrived to finish more than expected.

I did a nice 34 mans me-72 unit as shown here, it was quite easy, but even if it's not part of the army list i think it fits nicely as the nemesis of this mercenaries, as the border princes is full of necromancers fleeing prosecution that find refugee on the northern borrows.

Yosef's Estalians/Araby (286pts)

Ok so here is the beginning of the army, as I did not have so much time to paint this month, mostly due to reorganize all my hobby space...( and they were a lot of miniatures...) I went for the arabic/estalian part of the army.

So first we have 6 estalian caballeros with standard, musician and a hero lvl 5. They are all equipped with just shield. This comes to 110 for the 5 guys, an extra 44 for musicians and 39 for a  hero lvl 5    ( the sheik) so to a total of 193. For that unit i used the al muktar's riders. i enjoyed a lot painting the raiders with inks, but did not enjoyed or liked the final results on the horses, there are a bit of bland models...

Yosef's Exiled of Bagio

Ok so I first encounter Warhammer in school, some friend bought the starter for 6th edition and then the interest for the game began to grow quite quickly between our geeks friends, and in 1-2 months we were close to 15-20 people at our grade (there were 200 people per grade..) playing the game! Also at the time the game was very approachable in Spain, in any news stand you could buy a white dwarf and even some non-geeks were playing it. With time the interest on the game calmed down after 1-2 years but we continue playing with my close my close friends until World of Warcraft began to catch traction in 2007 and we stopped playing. On 2010 I moved to Israel, first to do college but then I stayed to live there, in the meantime my mother also moved to Israel and decided to just throw those : ”chilidish toys”. I did not like that at the time, but I was not using them so…

In 2013, tow events brought me back to the hobby, first there was the End of times series I heard from some internet rumors. So I began to buy the epub books from the black library and read how finally they were moving the fluff and I loved it… up to the last book that I hated it…as they killed all of the fluff of the old world. At the same time with a friend I played poker regularly, after a game that finished early we found by his place some of his old lotr miniatures and began to play to sbg, and we loved it . So we both ditched poker and began to play it 2-3 times a week. As there were no one else we knew that played we begin to buy more and more miniatures online for the sake of variety. So quickly in 6 month we had all the lotr range! Mostly already bought painted ( at the time we had a rule to only by painted miniatures). But that game had some big flaw he did not scale well, so a game with 200 models per side would take us 13 hours! So then we decided t try the massive games of GW, first we did 40k, and also as we did not knew other people that played in the next 2 years we collected all the WH40k army’s except guard and witch hunters.
