Rank and File Month #4
Real life got in the way of gaming this month (with the exception of the ongoing KD campaign and a solitary game of Carnevale). However I did get my minimum painting quota done, so let me present the Imperial Archaeological Expedition aboard the Rogue Trader's fleet.
Pretty obvious where the inspiration for these minis came from so I used earthy tones in the main to stay faithful to the source.
These are the guys and gals who do the actual work while the archaeologists take all the gory. They're also expected to be able to defend the dig when the archaeologist inevitably uncover something that should probably have stayed buried: inevitably incurring the wrath of whatever Xenos / Curse / Warp Entity was particularly attached to the Artifact / Treasure / Skull of its Great Uncle George that the expedition has dug up.
The diggers are a pretty diverse group as they were made up of minis I've had in my collection for decades and who didn't seem to fit anywhere else, including a couple of spare necromunda gangers and a fox that just snuck in 😁 Also they're lead by a 'mysterious stranger' who may or may not be a Sensei.
