White washed, dreamy reading, and my lovely cuppa

Good day my sweethearts!!!
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!!
Mine is just beginning~I have the next two days off
and I'm excited!
One of the things I'm making some time for is...
relaxing with my gorgeous giveaway win!

This is  Sandys' lovely home
featured here in
"Country Collections" Magazine.
I have been drooling enjoying her beautiful home
and her gift for creating all things lovely.
You can meet Sandy at Paint me White
Thank you so much my dear friend
for your love & friendship....
I am loving this gift so much!!

I've also just finished getting my hubby to put my drop-leaf table
back together.
My beautiful friend, Stephanie gave me this lovely pine table
and chairs,
which originally belonged to her sweet Momma.
I am honoured to have been given such a treasured table set.
In the last few weeks I've sanded it down to the wood,
conditioned it, and applied a white-wash to it.
Afterwards I added a protective sealer on top to seal it.
I dont think I did a perfect job on it,
although I spent a good deal of time
pouring love & care into it.
I learned through the process of preparation....
and enjoyed all of the transformation

Before

After

Im glad I experimented with the "white-wash",
but I still have to paint the legs
with my Annie Sloan chalk paint
which is now on its way!!!
I'm very excited to try this paint out
on numerous pieces of furniture
:)

The surface of the table is very clean-looking
and  white and I really like it.
I think that white-washed floors would be amazing...
although it doesnt recommend using this particular stain on floors.

The chairs for this set are beautiful
and have white chippy paint on them
and also a very pretty blue which i really like.

When my chalk paint arrives,
I will decide if I want to use some for the chairs
or leave them as they are.
I adore shabby chic style and these are adorable even as they are.
I'll be sure to show you again when the legs are painted!

Now on to
talk of "love"
:)

Since my hubby put the legs back on the table tonight...
I can hardly wait to sit here in the morning
with my sweet "love" cups
which I was so blessed to win
in "Sweet Sarahs" giveaway!!
You can visit this dear friend of mine
Thank you so much Sarah!!!
Isn't it adorable?!  ..there are two cups!
I'm still looking for the pieces I need
to show off  these adorable cups
and when I've found just what I'm looking for,
I'll post on how I'm going to display them
:)

In the meantime, I'm still working on my kitchen
as time allows...
giving it a new look.
Speaking of time...
its already into the wee hours of the morning
and soon it'll be time to arise
and time for a cup of coffee
in my
"cup-of-love"
Enjoy your day my dear friends!!
It's time to get some zzzzzz's
just like these little ones!
Gosh, they are the best cuddlers" ever!

Autumn is in the air and where do I begin?

Hope everyone had a happy weekend!!
I worked all weekend but am more than excited to have
the next 2 days off!
Yesterday was very warm and yet this morning
there was a chill in the air,
and it feels like Autumn is showing her face.
I took this fall photo a few years ago,
but I'm sure it wont be long
before the colours are blazing like this again.

Autumn has such a coziness about it
that I love...
the warmth of fireplaces,
gathering of family & friends,
 comfort foods,
the warm colours,
changing up our decor,
Thanksgiving...
so much fun.
I'm heading out to the cottage for Thanksgiving again
this year,
and then from there,
I'm visiting our sons a few hours away.
It'll be 8 days of absolute enjoyment with family!
I can't wait!

Now that the summer is fading and the weather is starting to get cooler,
I've got some projects waiting
and one or two that I'm finishing up on.
:)
Some items are longing to be painted and given a new look!
My hubbys friend found some cane-back chairs
and a pedestal table (gorgeous) for us
and Im just waiting on my chalk paint to get started on that baby!
Im also going to cover over the seats and turn them shabby chic

Shes got a nice pair of legs on her!
:)

You can see the pedestal table snuggled in
our messy garage...
oooh baby...I can't wait to get some chalk paint on you!
Even though the wood is in great shape...Im still
planning to paint her white!

Heres a little peek at some shutters my hubby found
on the roadside
and took me to see them..
of course we came back home with them in the car
:)
Not sure how Im going to use them or where...
but I really like them,
and I'm thrilled that my hubby has acquired an eye
for these finds!
He was the one who always loved going to garage sales
and I'd always pass on them..
now when I have a Saturday off...we go together.
We've been to a more than a few this summer
and we've found some great treasures together!

Speaking of treasures...
My sweet Dad has been working on a few projects for us
which I'll share with you later,
once my chalk paint comes in
and I paint them
( A lot is depending on that chalk paint lol!!  )

I love spending that time helping him in any way I can
and just enjoying his sweet company.
We've had a few breakfasts together
before he gets started
and I'm loving that so!!

I'm still working on my kitchen
and putting little touches here & there.
I found some thrift shop curtains for our bedroom
and I love, love, love them!
They are white sheers, but an older style..
so feminine and they are scalloped on the bottom...
I'm painting our bedroom once the puppies find their new homes.
It'll be white in there too...and Im thrilled that I found these curtains!
Oooh-la-la I love decorating...
for as long as I can remember its been a passion for me.
How about you...any painting projects in store?
Have you used chalk paint and if so what do you think?
Hope you have a great week!!!

Deborah xoxo

The puppies send hugs & kisses to you!
