Morning has broken..... with sweetness

Sweet tooth?  I know many of you have one...right?
Well, I'm no exception. I sometimes add a little treat to my fruit.
Not often....but once in a while...when I think of it.

Fruit has it's own lovely sweetness
and is truly satisfying...
but...
for an extra bit of sweetness,
fruit dip  is yummy and fun!
I found this cute heart spoon down south
while we were on holidays last summer...
could have resisted , but didn't.
;)
Love it, love hearts.

The recipe is easy and made to taste,
so add more or less as you taste and see.
If it's just for yourself,
I'd put about 2 tbsp. light sour cream (or fat-free or regular)
in a small bowl,
add about 1/2 to 1 tsp of brown sugar,
and about 1/4 tsp vanilla.
Stir in well;
slip it on the side of your fruit dish,
and
there you have it!

A delicious dip to serve with your fruit.
If its not sweet enough for you, add a bit more brown sugar and/or vanilla.
L O V E  this dip!

Dee-lish!

Wait!  How about chocolate chip pancakes made from scratch?
Okay...too yummy!
All right..maybe not the fruit dip and the pancakes all in the same meal....
maybe a bit too sweet,
but...
this morning I made the mint chocolate-chip pancakes
and it sure hit the spot.
I had the fruit with the fruit dip yesterday..
and it was a sweet way to start the morning (pun intended)
;)

Have a wonderful weekend!
Enjoy something sweet!
Hugs!

Deborah xoxo

January's end and celebrations of the heart

January's almost over
but not without a birthday
here in our family
;)

I love blueberries...
especially when they take this form
;)

It's my sons birthday!
Here's his precious little family..
celebrating with him.
I still remember his birth..on a Sunday afternoon,
quite unexpectedly...he was 2 weeks early,
and the Drs. quickly delivered him...
I was in for a check-up at the hospital
and they were concerned.
There was a flurry of activity and decisions being made
and at 1:03 in the afternoon..he came.
He was only 4 lbs. 1 ounce.
Yes..very tiny..but look at him now!
He's the tallest of my boys!
Ryan's middle name is  Joshua,
which means "God saves".

Ryan has a beautiful little family,
whom I adore!
Terra is a sweet gentle spirit and Brandon is a hoot!
And  yes...that is my white Christmas tree still up!
I know, I know...but I haven't been able to bear putting it away yet!
We did throw out our fresh tree we had up in the living room though...
does that count? Lol
All my other Christmas decorations are packed away but I just love white trees and white lights..
so here it sits..in our dining room...
for a little longer.
;)

Anyways...happy birthday  Ryan!
I'd love to share this recipe for our
blueberry cheesecake,
if you'd like it.
The only part you bake is the graham crust,
so it's easy!
Here it is...
hope you enjoy!

Blueberry Cheesecake

Prepare a graham wafer pie crust as follows:
Combine 1 1/4 cups graham crumbs
with 1/4 cup melted butter.
Press into bottom of  a 9 in pie plate.
Bake at 350 for 8-10 minutes.
Set aside to cool.

Prepare one envelope of  Dream Whip
according to pkg. directions.
When this mixture is light and fluffy after beating it,
add 1/2 cup of icing sugar
and beat into your dream whip mixture.
Set aside.

In another bowl,
blend  2 8 oz. pkgs of light cream cheese (or regular if you prefer)
and beat .
Add dream whip mixture to the cream cheese mxture.
Beat together.

Pour into the cooled graham crust.
Add 1 can of blueberry pie filling on top.
Spread evenly across the top of cream cheese mixture.
Put in fridge to set.

Enjoy and share with people you love!

*I like to prepare it in the morning and then its nice and set by suppertime.

February's coming, then March, then  spring!
I'm looking forward to more blogging, and more visits with you!
