Pink and shabby

Good morning everyone!
It has been awhile since I've been here
and to catch up on everyone's lives.
I have missed peeking in with you all
~
Winter is over; the proof for me is that I am finally removing my winter tires.
I know...lol...you never know when you live in the northern parts.
~
We are into the double digits here and I am loving it!
I have been sunning a wee bit...getting ready to wear bare legs
in a skirt for our sons wedding this weekend!
Yes....exciting!
~

As summer weather is nearer than ever...
I am feeling the urge to nest and create.
That old shelving unit I found at a garage sale last year has finally made its way into our home.
I gave it a good cleaning, and decided on not painting it.
Perfectly shabby as it is...and pink; it had me at pink!
This was actually at a moving sale.
This shelving unit wasn't even for sale; it was tucked away in a corner of the garage under some things, yet totally drew my eye the second I saw it.
I asked my hubby to ask the owner about it.
I believe, if my memory serves me, it was sold to us for about $5
Oh my!
I suppose some would say that that's all its worth,
but to this shabby chic gal,
it was a steal! ;)
~
For now, it  embraces some of my Rachel Ashwell books.
Dried roses, and a cherished old tea cup which I had made into a candle
adorn its pink shelves.
This rosary was given to me by my sweet daughter.
And then, there's my absolute favourite photo
of my boys taken while we camped one year...
a long, long time ago.
I can still remember that trip...precious memories.
~
I took out a small paint brush and painted these blocks
in a soft pink.
I found them at a country store in the fall last year
and although they were a dark green and a rust shade, I knew they would
become soft with my brush.
They were 1/2 price so I couldn't resist!
~

Holidays are only less than 3 weeks away!
I can't wait...but I will.
I don't want to take for granted even one day of this season!
~

I hope you are all well
and I will be visiting your places soon!
