From black to cream....
well actually "Old White"
We bought this bedroom set about 6 years ago
down near Niagara on the lake.
I loved it in black!
But ever since I fell in love with shabby chic,
I've been dreaming of lightening it up.
I finally did it!!!
I'm really loving it.
This paint colour has given a softness to it,
and it now has become more shabby chic,
and blends well with the rest of our bedroom.
The quilt which I fell in love with while on vacation last year,
blends so much better with this shade than the black.
There sure was a lot of rails to paint
on both the headboard and the footboard!
I kept my eye open for an older style alarm clock...
my black one just didn't suit anymore.
I found this black one and painted it pink and distressed it a little.
It looks like home for this little alarm clock now :)
That candle behind the clock is peony scented.
You would not believe how the fragrance fills the room in about 5-10 minutes.
I love it!
I adore my armoire even more now!
Roses...I just keep adding roses.
I love them in a vase or jar,
and then still love them dried,
hanging in romance.
I can never have too many flowers,
and the bedroom is a beautiful place for them.
These are so pretty in my lovely mason jar!
My sweet friend Michelle from Emerald Cove
blessed me with beautiful mason jars a few years ago.
I couldn't believe it...I was overjoyed!
I couldn't believe it...I was overjoyed!
Thank you Michelle!!!
These are so fun and easy to create
and so very practical.
Thank you Rachel Ashwell for inspiring me to make these!
I just made another one from an old board
and bought a few hooks while on holidays.
Just waiting for hubby to hang it!
Love it!
Our bedroom is filled with treasures that have meaning.
Caressing this old oar are sweet thoughts of the sea
from my dear friend
Kerrie from SeaWashed
So beautiful...just like she is.
Thank you Kerrie!!!
My memory board...
which still has room for more treasures
:)
Still my favourite gift...being "MOM"
Thanks to my son Ryan for giving me this reminder
of who I love being.
Pretty wicker basket for my towels,
painted old boards with hooks added,
old stools painted pretty holding favourite books and magazines...
storage can be attractive!
But no matter which way you choose to decorate it
and call it your own...
its still your
Home Sweet Home
All my heart,
Deborah
