This week I wanted to buy a calendar for my journal, at Weiss. Weiss has no books, but also not the journal I wanted and I made a terrible mistake.
I went to Graff. And.... came home with... more books. And a Braunschweig-Calendar on the Light-Parcours we missed last year.
And this...
Instead of this beauty:
I got a plain red one. Remember: Next year go earlier- I hoped like going last year the calendar is reduced, this time they were all were gone.
This one has "importanf phone numbers" on page 1- there is still existing the "time announcement"???

Finally:
The series:
"This is how we shopped in the 20th century
If you think chaotic behavior and crowd mentality are just 21st century phenomena, take a look at this picture from the 1960s. Then bargain hunters storm a porcelain exhibition at Selfridges in London, with no regard for manners or decency."

Hello,
I bought my calendar early. Sorry you missed getting the journal you wanted. Your dinosaur bag is cute. It is always nice to see Henry and the crow. I would avoid the crowds of shoppers, lately it does not seem like there are any bargains. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy New Year to you and your family, I wish you all the best in 2025. Take care, have a great day and a happy weekend. PS, thank you for leaving me a comment.
Excellent Post Today My Dear - Enjoy The Rest Of This Weekend
Keep It Groovy ,
Cheers
I'm with you....I love books! I haven't bought a new calendar in a long time. We use 'free' calendars. I love to browse a shop with books though!
I make my own calendar. So many photos pile up every year - I have to do something with them :-)
I had a hard time finding a store selling calendars but finally got a good one, Iris.
Yes, I think you are right there are no bargains anymore- lesson learned. Sadly I AM that dinosaur, cause atm I rather watch DVDs..
A very wonderful 2025 to you and yours!
Dear Padre, I am back on track since 2 hours and really will try to enjoy the rest - same to you!
I just need to READ the books, too (managed of there so far)...
I have pics only online these days.
I actually only wanted a nice journal, but a Braunschweig-calender is nice, especially as we missed the event.
Commas do matter and the people over here seem to misuse them all the time. I get my calendars at the animal shelter and the money goes to support them. Enjoy the evening, Iris.
Yes, Ingo often whines about how people give comments and it´s...
Great idea with the animal shelter. When in Perth we always buy the firefighter´s one, money goes to the Children´s Hospital. To a nice evening, Bill!
I gave up paper calendars and planners a decade ago. Everything is digital.
This is for the eye ;-)
You sound like me. That book thing can be a problem. There's just so much you could learn about in a book, right? I need to try to do a book purge this month since I haven't done one for a few years. I hope you're having a great weekend. hugs=Erika
I love the science calendar and will look for one next year, well, later this year in October when the new ones start arriving in shops. The dinosaur bag is cute.
I really hate bargain sales days and never go near whichever shop is having one. I don't want to be crushed or injured by manic crowds just to save $1.
I need to retire, LOL. And throw away the DVDs (but I do training watching those).
My ankle threw up after20 years, but Ingo is so nice - to a great Sunday, hugs
It´s only January 5th, maybe they have those science ones in stock still? Last February I bought so many cheap calendars in our Madeley post office, there were plenty!
Yep, me ole dinosaur, buy and don´t read.... At Penny Dreadful DVDs still!
Nah, it´s different here!!! Usually prices drop on calendars when no one cares anymore, we don´t have special days for that - eeek, would never go!
But I´ve learned my lesson....
It was so nice when I realized I no longer needed a calendar! But books, they seem to multiply in the dark!
