Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi Everyone! And I hope you all have had a very Happy Valentine's Day!! I have spent the day with my wonderful husband. I got him a new Kindle, because he needed one! :)  And we went out and had lunch. Other than that we have just hung out at home together. And for us .. that is perfection!

What else has we been up to? The kids are out of school next week. Michael has been working. He also has another ingrown toenail. I have a feeling we will end up at the doctor again for that. He was soaking it this morning, but he couldn't get it cut. He is wanting to wait it out, because he knows it will hurt when they cut it. Bailey helped Kevin and I shovel some crush and run yesterday. We put that in the bike port and the walkway to the house. We also filled up the spots in the driveway that are broken. I think it will take some time to settle and dry out, but I think it will be well worth it. It is much better than the mud that we had. Today, she has gone to spend a couple of days with a friend.

Tomorrow it is back to work and Kevin has an Ultrasound. The weekend has just flown by so quickly! Now, I wanted to share a card with you. This was my first custom order on Etsy. I had someone purchase a card and then ask if I would make her daughter a custom card for her boyfriend for Valentine's Day. She calls him Peach Butt and wanted it to say Happy Valentine's Day Peach Butt. So, with that in mind, this is what I came up with:

For this custom card I created a Peach shape to cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I was able to use scraps for this card! I'm really digging into them. I inked it all up with my Distress Inks to give it that peach flavor :)  I cute the leaves with some die cuts on some embossed paper, stamped the Happy Valentine's Day. Peach Butt was cut with one of my Sizzlit letters and the hearts are a Memory Box die. The little peach is an emoticon that she wanted me to use. The red glitter circles are stickers. And that is it! I had a lot of fun making this unique card! I hope I can have some custom orders again :)

One More Valetine's for Today

I wanted to get one more Valentine's card posted today. I'm watching the news, watch the birds eating the seed I refilled and watching for snow. We had a little snow shower... where is all the snow!! :D  I want snow LOL!! That will be it tonight. I'm going to get this post posted, do some work on Etsy and hopefully get some coloring done too! :)  Oh... and watch for snow! LOL

Alright... on to the second Valentine's card for today.. the third card in my set of five listed on Etsy :)

For this little pink and black Valentine's I used one of the monsters in the Valentine's Fuzzy Monster Set at Drawn With Character. I did a bit of layering on the image. I colored with my Copic markers. I've used some embossing on the inside and outside and some die cut hearts. Just a bit of patterned paper from my scrap stash. I also added a bit of twine. The sentiment was created, printed and then inked around the edges. I used a bit of Wink of Stella on the antennae.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Monster: RV13, RV14, RV09
  • Antennae: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23

Hot Cuppa Bear*

Good morning everyone... Happy Tuesday!! Time to head off to work. At least it is not raining today! I will be cold, but not wet! :D  I was able to get a lot done yesterday at work... I'm hoping for another good day. I have no complaints about the cold weather.. I love the cold! I love it way better than the hot. So, that is it for me today.. work.. come home and hopefully craft. Bailey is staying after to get some help from her math teacher to catch up on what she missed. Michael works today too. It will be just another day :)  But always a beautiful day! Every day is a beautiful day!!  And I hope you all have a wonderful day today!!

Here is my wintery card:

For this winter card I have used Mug Bear from Gerda Steiner Designs. This is the Image of the month. I've colored him up with my Faber-Castell Polychromos. I did a small amount of layering with his nose, hands and feet. The background I created using Distress Inks and water. I splattered some white paint on it as well to give it some snow. Then I've added some texture at the bottom to make it look like snow or frost along the edge. The patterned papers are all scraps. I've inked the edges of all the papers. I've cut around the image with a My Favorite Thing die cut.  Then I've added the snow flake swirl cut from a Memory Box die. I've added some glitter that. I've also added the same to the inside. I've also added to the inside and out, the snowflakes which were cut from a sizzlit die. I've also added glitter to these. On the outside I've added some blew mini dew drops to the inside of the snowflake. I've also added some ribbon. There are some gems on the side as well. The inside has the snow flake die cuts all covered with glitter and some gems and mini dew drops as well. I've added a strip of ribbon to the inside and let it hand below.

A Hedgehog Autumn.

Good afternoon everyone!! I was trying to get this post up this morning, but it just didn't work out. So I'm going to get it up now. I hope you all had a fabulous week! This was the LONGEST week! I thought it would never end! It just kept going on and on and on LOL!!  I'm just glad it is Friday and I'm home. I did get a lot accomplished this week.. so that is something good! It always feels good to have a productive week at work.  And tonight I don't have to go running anyone anywhere! Bailey is riding the bus home, Michael doesn't have to work and no one is going anywhere until tomorrow! Tomorrow, Bailey is going to hang out with her boyfriend all day for the cul-de-sac Halloween get together. That will last from the afternoon into the evening! And Michael works tomorrow. I really don't plan to do much of anything but craft! It should be a good, relaxing weekend :D

Here is my creation for today.. another Autumn card:

For this one I have used Hedgehog Pumpkin from Gerda Steiner. I think he is just ADORABLE!!! I colored him with my Copic Markers. I've done a bit of layering as well. I used a Spellbinders die to cut around him, which I inked with black. Then added another Spellbinders cut behind it in black. The pumpkins and Autumn were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I've added some twine and dew drops. On the inside I used a Memory Box corner die and added some of those dew drops. The pumpkins have some orange glitter added to them as well. I've used all scraps with this. I've done pretty well using my scraps so far this season!!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Pumpkin Stem: E33, E35, E37
  • Hedgehog: E000, E21, E23, E25, E27, E29

Fin-Tastic Birthday Mermaid*

Happy Tuesday Morning! Well... we got through Monday, so that is saying something! It was a Monday too!  Wow! Just one of those days.. Busy! Bailey stayed home yesterday not feeling well. I'm wondering if she has strep throat. We will see how she feels when she wakes and we may go in for a strep test. Michael has to go in this morning for a vaccine booster, which means that he will be late to school. Then when he gets out of school it is right on to work. They have him scheduled for 4:00 pm; he doesn't even get off the bus until 4:15 pm HAHA! Great planning on their part. I'm working from home today and I have a lot to get done. I'm hoping the nurse visit will be quick and I can get back home. Have a great day everyone!

Here is my Birthday creation for today:

This is my blue monochrome creation using Embrace the Ocean from Ching-Chou Kuik. I colored the image with my Faber-Castell Pencils. I added some clear Wink of Stella to her hair. The bubbles were cut from a Sizzix die. The rectangle right under the image is cut from a My Favorite Things die. The wave die cut at the bottom is from Memory Box. For the background around her I used several shades of blue watercolor pencils. I used blue Wink of Stella on the bubbles and then covered them with Diamond Glaze. I used paint for the pearls around her. I added some blue tulle under the image. I also added some different shades of blue dew drops. On the top I added some ribbon and a seahorse charm hanging from the handmade bow.

Anniversary Cupid*

Good morning and a very happy Monday! Can you believe it is Monday already!!  Crazy how fast the weekend goes by. I didn't get enough done yesterday. I did get one card completed and I'm coloring another image, but I was hoping for more :) Oh well! I hope you all had a great weekend and have a wonderful week ahead!

Today I'm sharing this Anniversary card:

The image is from Art by Miran and it is With A Little Love. I used Copic Markers to color her. I added a bit of clear Wink of Stella to her wings. I did a little bit of layering as well. I cut out a heart and made a border so that I could use it to mask the heart on the image. Then I inked it with red and pink ink. I also stamped using a Hero Arts stamp, Happy Anniversary inside that same heart. The black cardstock in the back I distressed around the edges and the did some fun paint splatter with red, white and then I mixed the left over of those two and made pink as well. Then I did a bit of stitching around the edge. I added the gems around the image heart and some on the heart swirl. The two ovals are My Favorite Things. There is also a corner die with hearts. Then there is a small doily die with the large red rose on the top of it. I also added three small red flowers on the top corner. For the inside I did the same with the black cardstock and added four small red gems in the corners of the white cardstock.

Orange and Green Winter Box*

Good morning! And a very happy Thursday!!  Two more to days to go before the weekend!! Woohoo!! LOL  Yesterday I was working from home. That is always a nice change. I had some conference calls and it's nice and quiet at home.

Yesterday I also worked on the Open-Minded Crafting Fun Blog. I made a HUGE error!  Yep... my bad!! Ooops!!  I was cleaning up the blog getting ready for our new start at the beginning of the year. We are going to switch over to a monthly challenge and our first challenge will be on January 10th. Well ... as I was cleaning up I managed to delete ALL of the posts on the blog! I was trying to clean up the first year and part of last year, but nope... I deleted them all!! I couldn't believe it! Thankfully I had already saved the Design Team favorites.. but my gosh!! What the heck did I do!  Well, my BIG mistake! And I'm so sorry to everyone for that, but it is done and I can't fix it now. I should have waited to clean up. But there is a lot to do and I wanted to go ahead and do what I could :)  I hope everyone will join in on the Monthly Challenges once they start up!! We will still have the DT Favorites as well. Alright.. time to move on to my creation for today :)  This is a box I recycled and recreated!

Let's take a look at my box.. this is before I altered it:

It started out as a Samsung Box from the last phone we updated - Mine! I love my Samsungs! Kevin gave it to me and said I should decorate it. I have to admit, he was definitely correct. This is a great box! It just needed to be updated a bit. And here it is altered into something new:

For this box I started with the image, Hipster Girl in Snow, from SLS Lines Digital Stamps. I just adore this girl! I colored her with Copic Markers and then I layered her several layers. I added some glitter to her cuffs and hat to give it that furry look. I also added some Snow Marker to make the snowflakes falling. I took the box and cut paper to go on the box. I did green for the bottom and orange for the top. Then I did three layers of Matte Finish Gesso over the paper. I added the white snowflace corners and the snowflake borders on the sides. I added some gems to add some sparkle and I created the saying to go next to the girl. And I think that is it!

Copic Markers Used:
  • Outfit Orange: YR04, YR09, R89
  • Outfit Green: YG11, YG13, YG17
  • Black Shoes: W3, W5, W7, W9
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
