Popular female cosplayers seems to of become more of dressing slutty for attention than putting together a well made costume for a hobby

The image is at least 16 years old. It is quite reasonable to assume that anon is not underage b& because if anon was 2 when it was taken, they would be an of age newfag. Hell, I myself am a wizard and I don't know who she is.

Instead or recapping a 2 year long slow thread, allow me to recap 2 years of Dutch conventions and they're current state:
>Animecon lost half their visitors, is slowly falling to irrelevancy and going through severe financial problems (again)
>Tomo started to ficus more on the fairs, is now rebranding to Japanfest and already went on a "ruined reputation" speed run
>Viencon has grown a lot, learned drugs are bad m'okay, and it wont be long until they can rent out the entire Center Parcs location
>Abunai! is somehow still standing tall and winning by not doing anything
>Nishicon is a decline, had maybe 50 visitors this year and pulled the plug
>Ibaricon came onto the scene but proven itself problematic to work with
>Elfia is no longer welcome at Castle De Haar
>Castlefest remained comfy to this very day
>Heroes Dutch Comic Con and Made In Asia are going stronger than ever
>Comic Con Holland came onto the scene and is growing fast despite some backlash
>Aniway, a Dutch anime magazine, ended their run after 24 years.
>Nintendo is tired of there being 9001 Poké-cons using their IP and took action

Animecon was fun!
It feels like animecon is finally back to its former self. Minus the location. I still miss world forum.
They had concerts, special guests, events, lots of food and even a cocktail bar. And Miku!
>>
>>10970161
I was worried the stage venue wouldn't be able to handle Coda, but it went surprisingly well! Had a great time.
Was fun seeing an IOSYS member live too.

Broodfabriek still doesn't really work as a location. It inexplicably manages to both feel too cramped and spacious at the same time. Like the main landing spots for people are too small, and the complete open floorplan of the places like the EXP area and the gaming room just feels overly messy. Noise has been an ongoing issue with all events and lectures because everything is always near something loud. (karaoke, popup stage, and lecture rooms so close to each other is the worst offender)

On the other hand, I get the idea they had with the dividers showing art to block off the artist signing area, but it made the entrance to the dealer room feel weirdly cluttered and ugly. Like they'd never finished actually setting it up. But they've struggled with how to divide spaces in that back area since the start. I don't think there's much you can do except move venues again

Outside of that, I had a great time.
>>
I also enjoyed Animecon this year.
Glad they improved the outside space. In the past years it felt like some lost tents and benches on a parking lot but with the addition of the big parasols and the bar and food court it felt nice to hang out.
Also liked how they are giving more space to experimental stuff on the pop up stage. I think some new ideas for new audiences are important to keep Animecon alive right now.
The broodfabriek will never be the world forum and we will never go back but I'm starting to come to terms with it now.

This is for the older con goers. How does it feel to go to cons? Do you feel out of place? What is the average age at cons do you feel, and when do you feel like you've aged out of the con scene? I'm early 30s myself and I'm starting to notice the age difference, and have been interacting with people a lot less at cons

The problem is not that Anon is too old, the problem is that Cons are a subcultural blackpill. They turned to shit in the 2010s and now there's nothing to do but buy figures for anime you don't even watch anymore and wish for a con that wasn't a sea of corruption.

What's in an insult that doesn't land? Whether it's trying to blend in or real misanthropy, a good chunk of the whole site's userbase (especially on a place like /r9k/) would say that pissing off normalfags is a badge of honor to them. For the few people we have left on this board, their flavor is "X is what I feel you must do with your life path and you'll earn my eternal IRE if you don't hold to that", as worthless as that is. QRD: It's all autism, ignore sticks in the mud, ???, profit

> i try to lean more into the cute/moe side than the ero side of cosplay
> i dont think ill ever show lots of skin, i know girls who get crazy reach from it but its just inauthentic and im not a slut, im a bit shy about showing my stomach but cleavage and tight outfits are fine

i was reccomend to try craft a persona that keeps others there, that feels relatable and honest while still being well, coomworthy or whatever. I know theres a lot of autismlarper girls who pretend to be quirky for cock, but i dont think im that retarded yet. just being cutesy and a bit ditzy is much more natural to me. i do interact a lot more with my fans, unlike most cosers who just yell creep every 2 seconds. so what trope is the best to go for?

>i know girls who get crazy reach from it but its just inauthentic and im not a slut, im a bit shy about showing my stomach but cleavage and tight outfits are fine
Good, keep it up. Be a good example for the community. There are way too many cosprostitutes around.
>>
>>10968591
why are you shy about showing your stomach when swimwear for women exposes it?
>>
>>10968862
you can be insecure about your face while the whole world sees it every day
>>
>>10968591
What characters are you doing?
>>
>>10968591
if you aren't physically attractive and don't want to goon bait you just have to be extremely good at the craft part and fight for relevance in that area. You will have a lot of competition for attention that way too.

if you just want to be a "personality" online maybe become a streamer or something.

anyone can be "cutesy and ditzy". You aren't going to get sponsors just for being like that. You might get followers, but 90% of them will be fat losers who want to send you cum tributes.

trying to be a cute cosplay girl with the most basic personality but not expecting your entire fanbase to be horny dudes is pointless.

Cosplayers: Post your portfolio/insta if you’re open for commissions

If you wanna keep your anonymity here, post your protonmail so people can reach you for requests

Buyers: drop what you’re looking for + budget and maybe someone bites

My request is that I'm looking for someone to cosplay pic related. Obviously with the outfit she has on, but if it's hard to make or hard to buy, there are other outfits she wears.

hihihi /cgl/, just here to get some thoughts down ^-^

im waiting for a haruhi cosplay to arrive, but im kinda worried i wont look as cute as the other cosplayers i see on tiktok and elsewhere on the net. im sure this is a common thought, but its a big one nonetheless. i guess it sorta leans into my sense of imposter syndrome - i dont think confidence suits me at all. i think that the second someone looks at me in cosplay theyll know im faking something.

when it all arrives i may post some pics here so yall can lmk what u think ^p^

any thoughts or similar experiences ?

I respect all Haruhi cosplays.
>>
>>10970512
You gotta get that Hare Hare Yukai going.
>>
I relate a lot. My first cosplays were objectively straight trash. Paired with the fact that I cosplayed a niche fandom and am a 4/10 on a good day, I got no attention and i just became the cameraman for people who wanted to take pics with my gorgeous friend.

My advice:
- practice your makeup, figure out how to get it to last and not be cakey, what works for your facial features. Contacts are a good investment. Even if your eyes are the same colour, enlarging contacts can tie a look together
- iron or alter the cosplay once it arrives. 99% chance it won’t fit perfectly and even just using a basic pin to tighten the skirt or wtv to fit you better can make it look much more polished
- you will probably mess up your first wig. It took me 3 to finally kinda get what i was doing.

Good luck anon and good choice of character!
>>
>>10970744
yesssss haha ive been practicing !

>>10970755
thanks for all the advice anon ! the cosplaya rrived and,,,,, its too small @^@ i contacted the seller but they refused to exchange it. maybe i could make a few modifications to it to make the sleeves longer, as thats the main dodgy part
>>
>>10970790
Honestly, in my experiences in this community, shady sellers are something you come across every day not only online but also in person. A lot of conventions often have a few booths with nothing but bootlegged merch they sell out in the open with no care in the quality of the products. However, online sellers are a bit more shady as often times, they'll advertise something as being one size but it doesn't seem to fit when you first try it on. Modding the cosplay could work as a lot of cosplayers will often do that when they get a cosplay online as some pieces might not be the right size or very shoddy in quality. I'm not a cosplayer myself but I've had experiences chatting with cosplayers when it comes to trying to find cosplays online and often or not, the red flags are definitely going to be most of the Amazon cosplay sellers if you bought from there. Anyways, good luck, Haruhi anon. If we do meet at a con, I'll thank you there for doing the Hare Hare Yukai if you do it.

Years ago, when cosplay started getting popular, but also sexual, I remember being a big fan of a certain cosplayer. They turned out to be quite rude to their fans, and I was left being disappointed by it.

Later as the years went by, I came upon information that her cosplay hype died down, her twitch and vtuber arc couldn't lift off the ground, and she lost her twitter verification, and just isn't popular anymore.

Basically what I'm trying to say in this thread is; fuck that whore. But also how has the cosplay community/scene been? Has it gotten more slutty? Worse? Better? Are people chill, or rude? Tell me your experiences from before (5-10 years ago) v.s now.

The millennials in "the geek crowd" as you put it will be like that, but zoomers onward won't be as much. Zoomers will just say shit because it feels good, so as long as you're not going out of your way to misgender someone who is clearly female-presenting they won't care what you say.
>>
>>10970774
Yeah I'm not a dick, I can get along with you if you act normal it's the people that make it their entire personality that I can't really vibe with

I never went to these as I wasn't old enough but I've heard that conventions used to be more fun. Actual nerds going there having a good time.

No social media attention whores trying to get clout
Not overly woke and annoying bullshit shoved down your throat

Just nerds nerdin' out

Ugly? No self confidence? Fat? Trooning out? Too poor for makeup?
Just cosplay a character with long bangs and wear a facemask

Honestly we need to return to a time when that shit was laughed at, facemasks and their consequences truly have negatively impacted cons to a level only matched by onlythots foids.
>>
When did women cosplaying with 'business' social media accounts become so mainstream? I didn't realize just how many of these girls show up to cons. How the fuck do they afford all these cosplays anyways, is it just Chinese stuff?

I really hate how about two years ago we got all these newfags coming in and making threads for things that belong in existing generals, and I'm assuming mods can't do anything about it since it's technically not breaking any rules. Board culture is a dynamic thing that changes over time, and I don't feel good about this board turning into a more one-sided /soc/.

I'm not sure, the name doesn't ring a bell. She was western, and anons used to mock her, here and in /a/. If I remember correctly, she was either known for buying or selling Lolita getup, often people commenting how she would lie when dealing with her.

Only subhumans who do the thing described by OP would get this mad at it being pointed out.
Easy solution: Stop cosplaying characters from media you haven't seen/played/read.
>>
I saw a cosplayer on instagram say she doesn't cosplay characters she doesn't know and cosplay fags called her a bully and gatekeeper because they misread and thought she said no one should do it

Hello everyone,,, recently I bought this hair extension in tedi cause it reminded me of my OC and quite actually liked how it looked on me. I've been planning to cosplay my OC for quite some time but the idea resurfaced recently.
So I've decided to search for a long wig with bangs that has the same ombre on AliExpress and found... None.
I wanted to ask you guys a favour if you could help me find a wig that's as close to the extension or at least give some suggestions,,, I appreciate any suggestions and help. Thank you!
