Mid Century Pottery

I mostly collect green and white, but a few other colors sometimes sneak in.
And a new collection has started.....antique original water color paintings of
landscape, cottages and water.
Here's a peak at the green shelves in my studio.

Pretty Clutter

I really try to keep clutter to a minimum in my house,
except in my studio.  There, I live happily among
all the pretty things waiting to be put in my shop...
and some other things that are there just to make me smile.
We had snow today!
And after having sick boys home all last week,
it was a good day to make extra coffee,
light a candle, and work in a cozy, warm spot like this!
But... there was the buzz of a wet saw in the
background as bathroom reno number two continues. haha.

The View From Here

I've been working in my studio today.
It's a chilly, grey day...perfect for snuggling
in with a cup of hot tea, editing photos
and listing new items in the shop.
The view from the window wasn't bad, either!

Bigger is Better

I keep running out of packing peanuts, so this time I
ordered the REALLY BIG bag.  It was delivered yesterday.
Yep, it's really big!

I laugh every time I walk by my studio!

Studio Tweaking

Our kitchen reno starts in one week and we've been doing some prep
work in anticipation of it.  Funny how tearing up one room can
turn into a chain reaction around the entire house!
The shelves and drawers in the dining room were coming out
and I thought I could make good use of them in my studio!
So, out they came from the dining room.
See Slate?  He never misses anything that is going on here!

The row of old dressers has served well for all kinds of storage for
many years.  I originally picked them up at a thrift store for $5.00
and wasn't ready to get rid of them yet.  They got a fresh coat of
paint, new knobs and some brass label holders.
The shelves we left as is, since the color still blended well.
The only thing I bought were the bins, which came from Walmart.
The room works much better for me than before with a little more
room to work on projects.  Lots more storage space and much better
organization, too.  Everything is put away, but easy to find.

I feel inspired to be creative every time I step in here!

The new floor in the kitchen will continue through the dining room,
family room and front foyer, so all of those rooms will need to be
emptied this week.  I'll spend my spare time emptying kitchen
cupboards and drawers and deciding what can go to the thrift store.
  Let the fun begin! ha.

Also, thanks so much for all the birthday wishes!
My birthday was like it always is, gorgeous autumnal
weather, the entrance of my favorite season and a brand
new year for myself.  Lovely!
Love you guys...thanks for helping me celebrate with
your comments, facebook notes, ecards, texts, etc.
The youtube song was great, too. ha.
I even got a snail mail card from across the pond!

Kitty Plate

It was at the auction last week and had to come home with me!

It feels right at home on my random plate wall in the studio!

Breaking In The Studio

Well, I had fun making my first mess in the studio today!

First off, I painted these garishly orange plastic pumpkins I got off
the clearance isle at Wal-mart.  They have been un-Halloweened
and are ready for a Thanksgiving table. haha.
I can also cross that off my Fall Fun To Do List!

Then I started making mittens!
I got quite a few shapes cut out.
Tomorrow I can sew them up!

I had a fun, productive afternoon, but it was still hard
not to stare out the window with scenes like this!

Look at his twinkly eyes!
He gets to me every time!
