Pedicure Party and Giveaway August 30, 2013

Well, here we are in the last month of summer!
I don't know about you, but my toes were in need of a fresh
pedicure!  I did something a little different that I saw on Pinterest
a few places, which was to add apple cider vinegar to your water
that you soak your feet in.  I was a little leery, but it did make
my feet soft, like it promised!  And I didn't smell like a pickle all
day like I thought I might! haha.
I bought myself a bottle of Impeccable Greys just like in the
giveaway prize.  It's a little dark...almost black with three coats on,
but that's ok...it shows of my white hearts and polka dots
better that way!

And in case you've forgotten what the giveaway prize is,
it's a package of pampering Burt's Bees products and
two Maybelline bottles of nail polish in pink and grey!

Yes, I will ship anywhere in the world, so feel free to join in!

Just post a picture of your pedicure on your blog
and link up below so others can visit you!
And I do ask that you visit all the people that join the
party.  Getting to visit and meet each other is the whole point!

You have until midnight, Friday, August 30th to enter.

I've been working on a better way to organize and display
my expanding seashell collection all week.
I had to smile as I looked up the name of this type of
shell.  Mermaid Toenails!  They are thin, flat and round
and come in pale, shimmery colors.  Lovely!
And very timely and appropriate, given our party this week!

Winner of the giveaway will be announced over the weekend
so come back and check out who the lucky person is!

Second Pedicure Party And A Giveaway of 2013

It's time for another pedicure party!  At least that's what I thought
when I looked at my toes today! :)  So, sometime in the next two weeks,
give yourself a fresh coat of polish or have a professional pampering
appointment!  Snap a photo of your pretty toes and get ready to post
them on your blog and link up here on Friday, August 30th,
just in time for Labor Day Weekend!

As usual, guys are allowed, too!
And one day I just know one of them will win the giveaway!
Thanks to Brian, Dez and Pat for joining in last time!

Your nails can be a classic paint job or something a little
daring with bold colors, stickers or patterns!

One of you will be picked randomly to when the giveaway...
An Essentials Kit of Burt's Bees Creams, Lotions, Salves and Balm.
Also included will be two Maybelline colors of polish ~
a pink color named Born With It and
a lovely grey shade named Impeccable Greys.

OK...so that gives you 2 weeks or so!
I'll remind you a few times between now and then!
And maybe we'll see our last winner, Kathy, with her

Pedicure Party and Giveaway #1 2013!

Today is the first pedi party of 2013!

Have you painted your nails yet?
There's still time!
Just snap a picture of your manicured toes, make a post about it on your
blog, and link up below so we can come admire your pretty piggies! ha.
And everyone will be entered into the little giveaway, too!

So, here is my entry!  I used Mary Kay's nail enamel.  The color is
Ruby Slipper.  Now how perfect is that?  I'll just click my heels together
and say, "There's no place like home!"  It's so me, the home-loving
hermit. ha. I'm all ready to skip down the Yellow Brick Road!
I added a couple of little flower stickers, too, just for fun!

Here's the little giveaway prize!  Two pretty blue-toned polishes and a
4-way foot wand that does everything a professional salon would do
to your feet.... and maybe more!  lol.

Men are welcome, as always!  And we've had a few join in before and
steal the show.  It's great!  Men, I'll pick out a more masculine
prize for you if you happen to win the giveaway.
Or if you want this prize for your lady, then that's fine, too!

If you've recently given yourself a manicure or a pedicure
or had the luxury of having a professional one, snap a photo,
post it on your blog, and link up below!
That's all you have to do to join in and be entered in the giveaway.
And it would be nice if you visited the others that join in and leave
them a comment, too.  Getting to know other bloggers
and having some fun is really what this is all about!

Make sure you link up using the url to your pedicure post and not just your blog address.

The winner will be selected and announced on Tuesday!

If you'd like to join in, please link up here!
You have until midnight EST, Monday, June 24th to enter.

Weekend Random Stuff

Here's your not so subtle reminder that Monday is the
first pedi party of the season! :)
Get your toes ready and come join the party!
There's even a giveaway!
Doors will open Sunday night for any early birds.
Thanks, Christine, for sending me the poster above!

How is your weekend going?

Here's some random happenings going on here...

1.  We're working on our 'things break in threes'
with the drinking spigot on the kitchen sink breaking off
and our bed breaking earlier in the week.
What could be next???  Hope it's tiny and inexpensive. ha.

2.  I worked an auction Thursday and brought home some
wonderful things.  I'll show you later in the week
after I finish cleaning them up and taking photos.

3.  All the cats usually go outside at night but lately Jack has
been staying in.  He follows me around as I do my night time
routine of covering the bird cage, feeding the rabbit,
checking on the boys already asleep, etc.
Then he waits on the bed while I take a shower.
He's been wanting to sleep in between us with his
face burrowed into my neck.  That cat loves me, I'm telling you! ha.

4.  We have our first ripe tomato!
I'm thinking BLT's or burgers need to be eaten to celebrate!

5.  Summer camp is going quite well for the boys!  They
are still happy to go and happy coming home.  They're teacher
has called twice with thoughtful questions.  I'm totally impressed!

6.  Tonight is the Strawberry Moon!
I think it's going to be too cloudy for me to see it! :(

Hope you're having a relaxing weekend yourselves!

Pedicure Party and Giveaway #1 of 2013

It's time for a pedicure party!
This was so much fun last year that I wanted to do it again!
But last year we started at the first hint of warm weather and
then those of us in the Midwest were wearing our woolly socks
over our pretty toe nails because it got cold again!
So I waiting until June just to make sure we could show
off our pedi's in summer sandals and flip flops!
And hopefully it isn't too cold yet for those of you way
down south where autumn is about to turn to winter!

Here's a collage of pretty nails just for inspiration!
You can do all 20 nails or just your toes.
Be fancy with patterns, colors, stickers, or just the basic paint!
You can go get it professionally done or do it yourself!

And for a giveaway, one person who participates will receive the prize
above!  A four-way foot wand with brush, pumice, callose remover
and file.  And two full size bottles of Maybelline Color Show
polish.  Two blue tones ~ Turquoise Paradise and Midnight Swim!
And yes, I'll mail this anywhere in the world so all can participate!

No matter what shape your nails are in,

Your toes will thank you after you pamper them!

Guys can participate, too!
Who says guys can't have nice looking feet?

...or not!  haha  We don't care...having fun is the goal here!
Who can forget Pat's entry with his Post-It note toes?
Or Silver Fox's cat, Orson, showing his claws

Even if guys do it a little differently than we girls do,
it's the end result that matters!
And if I guy wins, I'll give him the option of a more
manly prize, to be determined if necessary!

So all you have to do is paint your nails between now and
Monday, June 24th and snap a picture!
On Monday the 24th, post your pretty toes on your blog
and link up here to join the party.

If you just did your nails, then take a picture now
and you're all set!  We'll see you back here in 2 weeks!

Here's some more fun inspiration!
If you need more, or some easy instructions, look on Pinterest!
I have to try that Ombre French Tip some time soon!
I love that!

Does She Or Doesn't She?

I saw the Queen of England on the news this week, in this outfit,
and said, "Hey, she copied my pedicure!"
Then I did an online search to find her photo HERE.
I bet she saw our pedi party and this was her way of joining in! ha.
The Wedgewood look is lovely on her outfit, I will admit.
And she probably really does call it "Wedgewood" instead of
"Bikini So Teeny".  haha.  She would probably leave that one to Kate. :)
I wonder if it's not considered proper for the Queen to show
her toes in public.  Maybe she really does have a "Wedgewood" pedicure!

Wedgewood Blue

I was chatting with Chris about the next Pedi Party and Giveaway coming up on
Monday, June 18th and she mentioned that Tiffany Blue was such
a popular polish color with all the high school girls at the school where she worked.
I made a mental note to look for some while I was out shopping.
Well, this isn't Tiffany Blue..more like a Wedgewood Blue!
Of course, it jumped into my shopping cart so I had to bring it home. :)
Maybe next time I'll look for the Tiffany.

I've never used a blue nail polish...mainly stuck to the pinks and corals...
so this will be a lot of fun!

It seems even more fun now that I noticed what the name of this color really is!
