Actuel was a trio made up of Steven Anderson - guitar & vocals, Gary Rabasca - bass, & Søren Berlev - drums. They started out in San Francisco in 1981 but soon after moved to Nashville,TN. They played a post-punk meets REM style. They released one three-song 12" in 1982 & a full-length in 1984, then were gone. They probably should have been more popular but I believe Nashville was not the best place for their sound. They were better known in Europe than here in the US.
