Testicles-1-2...Testicles-1-2...Is This Mic Working?

 
Last post I shared Devonté Hynes' Blood Orange debut release Coastal Grooves from 2011.
 

 

Before he went solo, Devonté Hynes was in Test Icicles. They released one album, one EP, & several singles between their 2004 beginning & 2006 demise. The band was a trio made up of Devonté (guitar, synthesizer, & vocals) along with Rory Atwell (guitar, drums, & vocals) & Sam Mehran (guitar, keyboards, & vocals) playing a blend of post-hardcore, dance-punk, & indie rock.

Sam Mehran died by suicide at his home in Hollywood on July 28, 2018. An album titled Cold Brew was eventually released on the third anniversary of his death. Grab a Cold Brew...

Formerly the Lightspeed Champion, Blood Orange is the stage name of Devonté Hynes, a British singer, composer, songwriter, producer, & author from London, England based now in New York City. Before taking on the Blood Orange moniker, Dev played guitar, synthesizer, & sang in the band Test Icicles.
