The Rootsman is Edinburgh, Scotland born John Leo Bolloten, musician & DJ based out of Bradford, England. The Rootsman is a radio host, Razor X Productions Sound System wizard, founder of Third Eye Misic, former Muslimgauze collaborator, & all around musical genius. 

He has recently announced on his Bookface page that he is retiring from music at the end of this year, so if you get a chance to see him do his thing before then, I highly advise you do so.

Frenz of NSS Afro & I bonded over our love & respect for all the same kind of 80s / 90s UK Dub as well as other feastival / rave stylings. I never tire of hearing stories of his adventures on the Sound System trails of that era.

Afro Calling

The 3rd of this month I shared some UK Dub as a request from Frenz of NSS Afro. 

The share spurred a long discussion in the comments about 80s Sound System & the rise of the British Dub scene, with much further music shared there. Particularly of interest was The Rootsman (Joe Bolloten) & the Disciples. Before January ends, I wanted to share two more items to wrap up that tangent.
