On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Slinging tuneage like some fried or otherwise soused short-order cook. Embiggening the earholes

March Beyond the R

Here's a final share for the month.

Vivien Goldman is a true Renaissance woman. She is a UK writer, journalist, & musician. She primarily came to my attention by her work with Adrian Sherwood, on the song "P.A. (Private Armies) Dub" from the New Age Steppers self- titled debut, & writing credits for "Sly" by Massive Attack.

Other than that, she was one of the PR heads at Atlantic Records, then Island Records. She was Bob Marley's UK publicist. She was writer & editor for Sounds magazine. She was a member of The Flying Lizards. She was a writer for NME & Melody Maker. She was Chrissie Hyndes' flat-mate.

In the early 80s Goldman lived in Paris for a year and a half, where she was a member of new wave duo Chantage along with Eve Blouin. Here's a single from that group. Some of the performers here: George Oban - bass; Style Scott - drums; Deadly Headley - horns; Steve Beresford - piano with Adrian Sherwood producing.
