On any post, if the link is no longer good, leave a comment if you want the music re-uploaded. As long as I still have the file, or the record, cd, or cassette to re-rip, I will gladly accommodate in a timely manner all such requests.

Musick that Needed Work - S: Sun City Girls

Thought I had all my Sun City Girls (& associated projects) all gathered in one file, but low & behold, when I was digging through this pile of off-casts, here was one by the Girls, needing some work, hiding from sight.

I am a devout follower of the SCG. I have shared them numerous times before:
herehere (& links to eight or nine more in comments); & a couple more you can find in the "Labels' list to the right.

Here'a a fine cassette that I had compleely misplaced. Hope you enjoy it as I much as I enjoyed finding it again.

Manifesting Demons on a Sun City Sunday

Zero_ii sez:
Someone requested this album a while back, but I wasn't able to find it until recently. It was a limited edition release, with only 1,000 copies being distributed. I hope that you all enjoy this rare album from a very unique experimental band.

Prompted by Other Blogs, Part 8

I'm always cruising around the interweb, looking for interesting music. I'll see or hear something out there that sets me on a path.

The other day I was checking out the latest from Bleak Bliss.

Badgerstump has posted much Sun City Girls & related items over the years. Recently he posted Horse Cock Phepner. Even more recently the rare, scarce & saught-after SCG self-titled.

Being a SCG fanman, I have shared Sun City Girls & related items here as well: Kaliflower; The Girls of Sun City comp; Alvarius B

Bleak Bliss's recent posts made me think of one of my favorite SCG's album, Midnight Cowboys from Ipanema. That was the first thing from the Girls that I posted around here...May 2008.

It's an insane combination of short snippets of avant-poetry & cover songs.  "Love Train".  "Radar Love".  "Me & Mrs. Jones".  The cover sez: THE HIT SOUND THAT MADE THESE GREAT SONGS GREAT!  It's kinda SCG's Third Reich 'n' Roll

March Madness.

The original posting was hosted on Megaupload, Kim DotCom's Big Brother kidnapped cloud. I am remedying the fact it is no longer available there by presenting a new rip & link. If you want to read what I said at the time, go here.

The Girls of Sun City

I have closely followed the career of the Sun City Girls from the time I first heard Midnight Cowboys from Ipanema in 1986. I have seen them live on numerous occasions, whenever they played anywhere near where I was at the time. The last time I saw them (kinda) was summer 2008 at the Horse/Cow art collective when Alan Bishop & Richard Bishop played "The Brothers Unconnected": A tribute to the Sun City Girls & Charles Gocher, the SCG's drummer who had died from cancer in February 2007.

They're right up there with Bill Nelson, Muslimgauze, & Legendary Pink Dots in sheer numbers of releases that I have accumulated over the years. I'm sure I won't even scratch the surface of everyone's favorites & I'll probably offend a good many in the process, but here's the mix I've compiled. It was one of the hardest ones to do in this series because of the mass quantity & vast variety in their materisl.

Eat it...Eat it Raw!

After more than half a century as a vegetarian, I'm trying something new. My daughter is a life-long vegetarian & several years back she went vegan. She's always giving me the business about it. We used to dine at a raw joint called The Green Boheme (they recently moved to Roseville & we haven't made it to their new location). They always challenged everyone to go raw for a month. Well, I decided I'd one up Lao & go raw.

Now, I'm a Taurus & as bull-headed as they come, so sticking to something I start is no big deal. But man oh man…all I do now-a-days is dream about food, whether I'm awake or sleeping. Now it's started creeping into my musick. See what you think of RAW!!!

Meeting & Exceeding my Criteria for a Moron

UDATE: Well, the asshole at least had the courtesy to resign. Now if he'd just roll over...

This is a place for people to find strange music for their own personal enjoyment (hopefully). So I guess I won’t let my anger get the best of me. I will still give everyone some strange & beautiful music to go along with this post. Rather than say anything more about this whole deplorable incident (I have long ago ceased to be amazed by human ignorance), I will just include the lyrics for today’s post.

Pow! Pow! Pow!
Saddle up the horses
Out in the stable
I've got some pals
Who will back us up
We'll ride down the hillside
To the Klan demonstration
We'll all listen to them assholes talk

(& then we'll)

Kill the Klansmen
Kill the Klansmen
Kill the Klansmen

We'll Kill the Klansmen
Kill the Klansmen
Kill the Klansmen

Pow! Pow! Pow!

From 1987s Horse Cock Phepner by the great Sun City Girls
