SS&SS: Troll Proxy Ready to be Primed

The ancient Harbinger is getting very close to the paint queue. One of the next days I shall probably prime a batch of select minis (I have a Wardog I want to finish prepping, first, though).

I both dread and am a bit excited about painting it - being quite a characterful model with lots of accentuated detail, it should paint up nicely, but it is also quite big, and I am not very fond of painting models larger than the average 28mm Human. Well, my LotR plastic Cave Troll turned out nicely when I painted it some years ago, so maybe I should just shrug off that feeling of discomfort I get form the thought of painting large models...

SS&SS: Troll Proxy WIP

My Reaper Bones order from Miniature Giant seems stranded at the Customs Office (according to USPS tracking service), so I must move this lump of lead forward in the queue.

When slapping filler all over the place today, I figured I should also start building up the base on the Harbinger, and later, I also glued his left forearm in place, so he should be ready for priming somewhen during the weekend.

Harbinger Rising... or Something...

Just finished cleaning up the Harbinger, and giving him a rough treatment with a brass brush to get rid of that 'old lead' yellowish tint. Only needs his left forehand glued on, and some filler put on the base, and he is ready to get primed.

I know I wrote that I would clean him up little by little, but I could not put him down when I started, so here we are!

I also found the two swarms of 'Darkwings' he was supposed to use for attacking foes in Chronopia - not quite sure what to use them for right now, but I think I shall paint them up for the sake of completeness.

Sellswords and Spellslingers: Troll Proxy

While searching for my Heki grass (I am making some 'terrain-bases' to break up the surface of my 'dirt' tables), I came across this old Chronopia Devout 'Harbinger' (I have the two swarms of 'Darkwings', too), which I think should make a fine stand-in for a Troll.

I shall be cleaning him up little by little, as a side project, as I should be busy painting the next couple of weeks, hopefully getting Lea's party ready for my weekend off in a bit more than a fourtnight from now.

In the meantime, my parcel from Miniature Giant containing some Reaper Bones stuff, including a couple of Trolls, should also have arrived, so I shall have enough to keep myself entertained for a while...
