Carter's Funeral -- January 9, 2025

cnn.com

There was a funeral held at Washington National Cathedral for President Jimmy Carter. I was able to watch most of it before I left for work. All of the living ex-presidents and vice presidents were there. President Ford's son read a eulogy that his father wrote. Ford had asked Carter to deliver a eulogy at his funeral. Carter said he would do it if Ford would do the same thing. Walter Mondale's son read a eulogy left by his dad. Reverend Andrew Young gave the homily. Joe Biden spoke from his heart.

T***p had a nice nap. Vice President Pence's wife would not shake his hand.

Jimmy Carter, RIP-- December 29, 2024

listal.com

Former President Jimmy Carter has died. I offer my condolences to the Carter family. Rosalynn and Jimmy Carter were married for 77 years. She advised Jimmy throughout his career. They had the best post-presidency marriage of all, doing work for Habitat for Humanity, for mental health and for equal rights. He was the first US President to reach the age of 100. I voted for him in 1980. His basic decency caused him to make some mistakes as president, but he was by far our greatest ex-president. He acted as an actual Christian. He helped to create peace agreements. The Carter Center promotes human rights. He worked steadily for Habitat for Humanity. He taught Sunday School until recently. I'll bet he was good at it.

Jimmy Carter 100 -- October 1, 2024

Happy 100th birthday to former President Jimmy Carter. He is the first US President to reach that age. I voted for him in 1980. His basic decency caused him to make some mistakes as president, but he has been our greatest ex-president. He has acted as an actual Christian. He has helped to create peace agreements. The Carter Center promotes human rights. He has worked steadily for Habitat for Humanity.  He taught Sunday School until recently. I'll bet he was good at it.

I am praying for President Carter to get his wish; he wants to live long enough to vote for Kamala Harris.

Happy Presidents' Day, 2023 -- February 20, 2023

Happy Presidents' Day, everyone.

President Jimmy Carter has gone into hospice at home.

I am praying for President Carter and his family.

I bumped William Henry Harrison to 2024 so I could honor President Carter. I don't think General Harrison would mind.

George Floyd's Murderer Convicted/Walter Mondale, RIP -- April 20, 2021

I was happy to learn that the police officer who killed George Floyd was convicted of his murder. A lot of people were worried that he would be acquitted. I don't see how anyone could think kneeling on a man's neck for 9 minutes and 27 seconds is a good idea.

Perhaps our country is moving in the right direction.

I was sad to learn that former Vice President Walter Mondale has died. I voted for him in 1984. He was a decent guy. When he served with Jimmy Carter, Mondale may have been the first vice president to serve as an active partner, as Joe Biden did with Barack Obama, Dick Cheney did with George W Bust and Al Gore did with Bill Clinton.
