Queen Elizabeth II RIP -- September 8, 2022

Queen Elizabeth II has died. My condolences to her family and her subjects. She was the longest-lived and longest-reigning British monarch. I'm not a fan of monarchy, but I don't see how anyone could have done a better job than she did. She led a life of service. 

She was Queen for my entire life. I sometimes wondered what would happen when she passed. Everyone has been calling her son King Charles III, but he has not formally announced his regnal name. 

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee -- June 6, 2022

People in the UK, the Commonwealth and much of the rest of world celebrated Queen Elizabeth II's Platinum (70 year) Jubilee. I'm not a fan of monarchy, but I don't see how anyone could have done a better job than she has.

Prince Philip, RIP -- April 10, 2021

Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh has died at 99. We keep losing World War Two veterans. He served in the Royal Navy and left in 1952, when Elizabeth II became Queen, with the rank of Commander. He was famous for saying things that were politically incorrect, but he was a good man, willing to serve in the shadow of his wife. 

The Queen and the rest of the royal family have my deepest sympathy.
