Music Monday - Uncanny

X-Men 97 debuts this week so I thought I’d share this musical tribute to the original series.

Music Monday - 1980 Force

Apparently releasing Welcome to Cobra Island wasn't enough GI Joe love for Canadian rapper, Wordburglar. His newest video 1980 Force is a loving tribute/parody of our favorite o-ring action figure line.

Music Monday - Rap-Viper

Since I recently picked up the G.I. Joe Roleplaying Game I figured I'd share this amazing G.I. Joe inspired track by Wordburglar. If you are a Joe fan you need to watch this video and listen to the album it's from, Welcome to Cobra Island. It's one of my all-time favorites.

After I get a good handle on the sytem, I'll give Rap-Viper stats.

Happy Birthday, Jack

Found this piece by Brendan Tobin and had to share in honor of the King’s birthday.

Also, check out this tribute track by Adam Warrock.

Music Monday - Drink Ale Every Day (Remix)

My dude Sulfur released a remix to his Thor drinking song. This time it features his wife Mo as the Mighty Thor. This track is a great one to cruise around too.

Music Monday - New America

It's Independence Day here in the states and given recent judicial rulings, violence against LGBT+ groups, and calls for censorship (some of which I've been dealing with personally), I figured I'd post some music that matches my current opinion of the country I live in.

(Somebody run the fire alarm!)

[Verse 1:]

I think these motherfuckers scared of us, yeah, and they should too
Fuck 'em all, need a match and a short fuse
See the struggle every city that we pass through
New America, the tolerant with tattoos
We hold the power, and we just ain't know it yet
No obedience, no fear, and no respect
Question everything, question everyone, always
It's our day, get to making with the car pay
College graduates, because the lies they told us
They got rich on all these bad loans they sold us
Twenty six, forty K in the hole
With the stark realization, I won't own a home
Young radicals on rational sabbatical
Cuz we're powerful and fed up with the capital
Imagine it with the epiphany
That only when the leaders fear us will there be liberty
Let's go!

[Chorus:]

Fuck that, we should burn this shit down
I said fuck that, we should burn this shit down
I said fuck that, we should burn this shit down (shit down)
Let's start a motherfucking riot in this bitch
And fuck that, we should burn this shit down
I said fuck that, we should burn this shit down
I said fuck that, we should burn this shit down (shit down)
Let's start a motherfucking riot in this bitch!

[Verse 2:]

We're living in a thinly-veiled oligarchy
Where the rich control the leadership of either party
Where banks collapse cuz policies they started
And bankrupt the world and get a presidential pardon
Meanwhile, it falls upon the backs of all the innocent
Working for an out of date living wage minimum
Fuck this figurehead man, the real change is imminent
We have the information, we just don't know how to implement
Sitting here, waiting for the trickle-down to start soon
While the world is laughing at us like a cartoon
Bicker petty shit to pacify the masses
While the nation's wealth is silently extracted
I say fuck that, we should burn this shit down now
And all the scumbag Congressmen who let it go down
Sad that people fear the fed and not the other way around
We have to move, or we'll never see we're bound

[Chorus]

[Coda:]
Let's start a motherfucking riot in this bitch!
Let's start a motherfucking riot in this bitch!
Young America let's riot in this bitch!
Let's start a motherfucking riot in this bitch!
Young America! We are the future! And the future's mad

Music Monday - Getcha Hands Dirty

I’m surprised I haven't shared this one before. JT Music released this during season 1. I love the Spice Girl flair nod in the lyrics, which go back to one of Butcher's speeches.

Music Monday - Become The Knight

JT Music has a new video based on Disney+'s Moon Knight series. As I mentioned before, I loved Moon Knight. This song is catchy and really captures the vibe of the show and has some nice nods.

If you want more Moon Knight inspired music and/or ideas for using Moon Knight in your 5e games, check out  this post.

Music Monday - The Fist of Khonshu

While I wasn't sure what to expect, I've been loving the Moon Knight series on Disney+. The finale premieres Wednesday and I can't wait to see how they wrap the season up. Here's another track by Adam Warrock inspired by Marvel Comics.

Here are a few different Moon Knight builds for 5e.

Bell of Lost Souls - This is a classic 5e build. They've used Paladin and Warlock to build him.
Mike Myler - This build him as a Patherfinder 1e character and a 5e npc. While I don't disagree with the way he's built for 5e, like most of Mike's Hyper Score builds he's really powerful. Definitely more powerful than the supers I've been statting for 5e.
Comic Book Resources - While this doesn't include an actual 5e build of Moon Knight, it does discuss the best options of how to build him for regular 5e.

Music Monday - Godbomb

I'm super stoked for Thor: Love and Thunder. Ragnarok is my favorite MCU flick and Thor is my favorite MCU character. For the hattrick Taika Waititi is returning to direct and he's one of my favorite directors. Today's Music Monday track comes from Adam Warrock and is based on Marvel Now's Thor, God of Thunder. This is the story that introduced Gorr, the God Butcher, antagonist of Love and Thunder. Cool bit of lore, Gorr used All-Black the Necrosword, which was forged by Knull, god of the symbiotes.

If you haven't checked out the Love and Thunder trailer, here it is.

I also felt like leaving you with some gaming content, so here's Crosshead's take on Stormbreaker for 5e.

Two-Face Day

Today is Tuesday 02.22.2022. I imagine this is a very big day for Two-Face. Click this link to see what's probably going on in Arkham right now. Today seemed like a good day to give Dent the 5e treatment.

Code Name: Two-Face
Real Name: Harvey Dent
Medium Humanoid, Lawful Evil
Armor Class: 14 (Dex, Armored Suit)
Hit Points: 100
Speed: 30 ft.
Challenge: 5 (1,800 XP)

Str 14 (+2) Dex 15 (+2) Con 15 (+2) Int 14 (+2) Wis 17 (+3) Cha 13 (+1)

Saving Throws: Con +6, Str +6
Skills: Athletics +6, Deception +5, History +6, Intimidation +5, Investigation +7, Perception +7, Persuasion +7, Sleight of Hand +6
Senses: passive Perception 17
Languages: English

Unique Traits
Cunning Action: On each of his turns, the Two-Face can use a bonus action to take the Dash, Engage, or Hide action.

Actions
Mutliattack: Two Face gets two attacks.
Knife: Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack. +6 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 20/60 ft, one target. Hit: 4 (1d4+2) piercing damage.
Pistol: Ranged Weapon Attack. +6 to hit, range 50/150 ft., one target, Hit: 8 (2d6+2) piercing damage. (15 round clip)

Harvey's Coin
Uncommon Wondrous Item
A bit of Harvey's soul goes into his scarred coins, granting them supernatural power. Before taking an action a person can consult the coin as an action. If the coin wills the action to be done (ie the result of heads meaning the coin says something should be done), the person that tossed the coin gets Advantage on that action. Woe to those that ignore the coins wishes though. They gain Disadvantage on all actions until they take a short rest.

While you're here, check out this dope track by Adam Warrock.

Music Monday - New 52 Mixtape

Honestly I've probably shared these before, but I don't care because they are good and deserve another listen. About a decade ago Dr. Awkward released his New 52 Mixtape. It was only four tracks, but damn was it good. Check it out.

Music Monday - Drawings With Words

Crazy to think this came out almost a decade ago. This track is fun af.

"For real geeks who can name Avengers
Like Triathlon, Tigra, Jack of Hearts,
USAgent, though he was always in the wackest arc
You like Starfox? That wouldn't bug me
Dude saw more pussy than Catwoman's undies
Trust me, like Hawkeye and Mockingbird,
You can call me a nerd, I like my drawings with words"

Music Monday - NVNCBL

I love the Amazon take on Invincible. It's beautiful, brutal, and wonderfully voice acted. If you did too, check out this poignant track from Mega Ran.

Music Monday - Choose Your Own Avenger

Released in 2018 by Hand'Solo Records Choose Your Own Avenger is a double-sided 7" with two different Avenger themed posse tracks. Honestly I love both, but I think the Ultimate Version is my favorite because it has my dude Sulfur, who straight reps Asgard. You can order the record here. You can listen to both tracks below.

Squirrel Girl Saturday

While it's been at least 5 years since he's made music, I'm still a big fan of Eugene Ahn aka Adam Warrock. He made socially relevant raps using pop culture references. He even did a song for Doreen. Check it out!

Colonel Sanders

While they are utterly ridiculous, the three KFC/DC Comics crossovers are Kentucky Fried Gold. I've read them and while they are just marketing tools for the restaurant, they are definitely written for fans of DC and have many great nods to classic stories and characters. Here the covers:

And because I'm me, I decided to do Vigilante City stats for the Colonel. You know, in case your game takes place in the DC multiverse.

Colonel Sanders (Earth-0)
Armor Class: 12
Hit Dice: 3
Move: 12
Morale: 8
HDE 3

Attack Damage: Cane (d6), Punch (d3)

Special: Allies in combat with the Colonel get a +1 to hit.
Bonuses: +2 to Melee, +8 to any roll involving fried chicken, +4 to any other rolls that involve doing it "the hard way"

Mega Ran - Strangers

I've been getting psyched about Survive This!! - Dark Places & Demogorgons and have decided to rewatch Stranger Things. This morning I remembered that Mega Ran has a few Strangers Things inspired ep about the show. If you like hip hop with a nice flow, I think you'll enjoy it. Mega Ran is a cool cat I've met a few times. He's teacher turned indie rapper. He's also the only rapper licensed by Capcom, which is pretty cool. You can download Mega Ran - Strangers by following this link.

Happy Birthday Superman!

Today DC is celebrating the 80th anniversary of Superman's debut. To honor him I've got a low level golden age Superman you can add to your Light City game. He uses the partially complete Brick class from The Assembly. It makes sense because golden age Superman was ridiculously strong and invulnerable to a point, but couldn't fly and didn't have a lot of his modern powers.

I gave him max physical stats... because he's Superman.

Superman
Level 3 Brick
Real Name Kal-El, Clark Kent
First Appearance Action Comics #1 (June 1938)
Str 30 (+4)  Dex 18 (+1)  Con 18 (+1)  Int 12  Wis 14  Cha 12
4 HD (25 HP)   Save  14  Movement 12
AC  5 [14]
Attacks Punch +5 to hit, 1d6+4 damage
Other Leap the length of movement, perform feat of strength on 4 or less on 1d6.

-----------------------------------

Also enjoy this track by my friend Niles inspired by the greatest Superman story, All-Star Superman.
