Heroes’ Feast: Saving the Children’s Menu Review

Heroes' Feast: Saving the Children's Menu is an adventure for 6 10th-level adventures available on D&D Beyond. The adventure is 4.99 and is a tie-adventure with Heroes' Feast Flavors of the Multiverse: An Official D&D Cookbook. It takes place in Daggerford and the Delimbiry Vale in the Forgotten Realms. It's written by celebrity D&D players, Deborah Ann Woll.

The adventures are tasked by a chef to retrieve special ingredients for Kender Stumblenoodles, a special dish loved by the children of the area. The previous folks sent to get them were found dead. The characters arrive to the farm, which was ran by an eccentric druid. They find him dead and encounter Ignis, a NG fire giant and her twin children. The party must complete their mission and protect Ignis and stop her children from being kidnapped by a fire giant king's search party (which includes fire giants and large sized hellhouds). Completing the task they gain a new ally and a temporay boon from eating the delicious Kender Stumblenoodles.

The adventure contains several sidebars referencing Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants. The book isn't needed, but can be used to help flesh things out. There are two appendices. The first details the Cheesemonger's Almanac, the druid's cheesemaking notes and almanac. This is a fun addition (and helpful in the adventure). Finally the recipe for Kender Stumblenoodles is presented. If you hadn't guess by the name and ties to children and kender... it's fancy mac and cheese. No shame in that, just funny to think there's an adventure related to mac and cheese.

This adventure is fun and has a lot of character. Presenting a NG fire giant is another example of D&D move of not having every member of a race being universally evil and being able to make their own decisions, which I'm personally a fan of. There some fun combat and roleplaying encounters, so most players can find something they enjoy. This isn't a must buy, but it's a fun, short, and cheap adventure.

Happy Soy Sauce Day!

We all agree he had sex with the mascot afterwards, right?

Vought Only Partners With The Best

Another Vought International video, this one is a tie-in with a real world product.

You can order Compound VG-Fuel here, though I doubt it gives you actual powers. This isn’t the first time The Boys has had a tie-in with a real world product. The Deep was trying to sell us Liquid Death canned water before season 3 aired.

Pepsiman!

Coca-Cola may be the world’s most popular soda, but I prefer Pepsi. Plus, Coke doesn’t have it’s own Japanese superhero. If you want to learn more about Pepsiman, check out the wiki or check out this compilation of the commercials.

These stats were created by Brewer’s Surprise and posted on their Tumbler.

Squirrel Girl Saturday

This Squirrel Girl Saturday is a little different. My friend, Eric, sent this pic he snapped at the local Starbucks. Sounds tasty so I thought I'd share it for this week's post.

Gizmo Returns...

... in a Mtn Dew Zero commercial alongside Billy (Zach Galligan).

It's cute and I like the new Gizmo look. Also, Mtn Dew Zero isn't too bad.

The Hanging Coffins of the Vampire Queen Noms

My friend (and party druid in my Storm King's Thunder game), Rich, posted a video on my Facebook page with a scary-good looking recipe. Bat wings, are grilled chicken wings that have been marinated in black food coloring and hot sauce and injected with Bloody Mary sauce. This gives them a creepy black outside and blood red meat. According to the recipe, they're black as night, hot as Hell. You can find the full recipe here.

Okay, looks interesting, but why am I posting this on a gaming blog. Well, if you couldn't tell by the title of the post, I think these would be great eats to make when running sessions of  +Mark Taormino's Maximum Mayhem Dungeon #1: The Hanging Coffins of the Vampire Queen. Sadly, I've not been able to finish the adventure, but my group and I had a blast for the parts we played through. You can find out what others thought of the adventure here and here.
