The new Strixhaven MtG set looks great. It’s like Harry Potter, without the transphobia (and you know with much better writing).
If this looks cool, remember there is a Strixhaven 5e book.

Planeshifted is a Patreon that creates fantastic content for D&D 5e (both the original and the updated version). While there are paid tiers of support, the homebrew game content is available to all.
The creator makes high quality pdfs featuring D&D conversions of Magic: The Gathering's planes. While a few guides are a bit more focused, in most you will find new races/species, subclasses, magic items, spells, and monsters. If you want to know the specific planes discussed, go here.
The trailer for the newest Magic: The Gathering set dropped and it’s adorable. Bloomburrow is a set for anyone that loves the Redwall stories or is a fan of Mausritter. Check out the trailer.
Outlaws of Thunder Junction is the next MtG set. This one brings together characters from various planes and seems them become an outlaw gang in a fantasy western setting. I think it looks awesome.
Overall this is a really fun collection and if you want to expand the Feywild or add some fairy tale whimsy to your game, this is a fun purchase.
If you want some faerie tale inspiration for your games check out the trailers for the latest Magic: The Gathering set, Wilds of Eldraine. I'm also including the trailer for the original Eldraine set, Thrones of Eldraine because its one of my favorite MTG trailers.
Magic: The Gathering is going back to the plane that started it all. Dominaria holds a special place in my heart. I'm excited for the new set and love this teaser.
I hope we get a Dominaria D&D book in the future. The Plane Shift: Dominaria just isn't enough.
Check out the cinematic trailer for the latest MTG setting, Streets of New Capenna. I'd love for WotC to turn this one into a D&D setting.
Streets of New Capenna is the next Magic: The Gathering set. Though the plane/city of Capenna was originally built by angels, it's been taken over by demon crime families. WotC has released some tracks based on the setting. My favorite is the theme for planeswalker and crimelord, Ob Nixilis. Until This City's Burning is a banger and you should give it a listen.
The latest Magic the Gathering set is Kamigawa: Neon Dynasty. Kamigawa is a plane that's been visited before. It is a land of samurai, nezumi, spirits, and magic. The new setting takes those things and puts them in a cyberpunk inspired future. Kitsune pilot mechs, while nezumi biker gangs roam the streets. Wizards of the Coast released this sweet trailer for the game I wanted to share.
The new Magic: The Gathering set goes back to a plane that's not been visited in decades, the East Asian-inspired plane of Kamigawa. This time there's a twist. The new card set takes Kamigawa to it's future and is a mishmash of samurai, ninjas, spirits, and cyberpunk. Check out the official teaser.
You can learn more about this new set here.
I’ve talked about my love the Magic the Gathering’s plane known as Innistrad. It’s full of gothic horror and is very Ravenloft-esque. You can use Planeshift: Innistrad to take your 5e game to the realm. The prerelease for the next MTG set Innistrad: Midnight Hunt is tomorrow. The cinematic trailer for it came out today and I wanted to share it.
For today's topic I rolled image. I often get gaming inspiration from images. My go-to source for this is Magic: The Gathering cards. I played Magic regularly from about 97/98 until 03. Even after I stopped playing regularly, I still periodically bought cards because opening booster packs is fun and I like to collect things. There have been a few sets that have really interested me. I loved buying packs related to Innistrad (aka MtG Ravenloft). Recently I've started playing playing again (first via Magic Arena and now playing Commander with friends). I know this is RPG a Day and I'm talking talking about a card game, but there is definitely a crossover here. There have been several Magic pdfs and with the release of Strixhaven three books for D&D. Additionally, the latest Magic set is Forgotten Realms themed. I know this still seems off-topic for today's topic, but I wanted to show where my love of MtG art came from. Think of this as the rambling before the recipe on most websites.
Okay, let's get into the good stuff. These are some of the MtG images that stuff with me over the years and make me want to game.
Two new stats blocks are included in this adventure. The first is a mercenary envoy. They are capable mercenaries that understand the value of tactics and formations, but aren't in leadership positions. The other stat block is for the series' villain, Tyreus. This Ravnican wizard is a powerful illusionist and has some strong spells. If given time to prepare, he can sow chaos and despair among the party. The appendices also include spells and artifacts from previous adventures, reprinted for convenience sake.
I am really impressed with these adventures. There is a great story to be told and some cool ramifications from the adventure. For example, what if the party decides to keep the stone, take over the castle, and gather their own forces?
A Verdant Tomb continues the events that were kicked off in In Scarlet Flames and continued in The Hidden Page. After leaving Sylvene's pocket dimension the pc's head to the tomb of Sylvene's husband and villain Tyreus' grandfather, Waltarn. The party must work their way through the tomb, which is full of dead grave robbers and traps sent by Tyreus. Eventually they will discover more about the villain and a powerful artifact that holds the power to create a demiplane.
Unlike previous adventures in the series there are no unique stat blocks. However there is a new spell Linked Glyphs and Mighty Fortress (which appears in Xanathar's Guide to Everything). Additionally the Stone of Creation (and Chips of Creation), the artifacts mentioned above, are statted out.
WotC has done a really good job with these adventures. Grab the pdf of A Verdant Tomb here and remember if this isn't a part of your regular game you can grab premade MTG pc's here.
Another fun D&D/MtG crossover video. This one stars Danny Trejo, Deborah Ann Woll, Patton Oswalt, Joe Manganiello, Xolo Mariduena, and Janina Gavankar in an escape room. It's goofy and short, but it made me smile. It also reminded me of how much I love Danny Trejo.
The Hidden Page takes place after the first part of the D&D/Forgotten Realms crossover series. The characters find a secret passage that moves them forward and leads them to a demiplane associated with the planar wizard mentioned in the first adventure. The adventure includes investigation, dungeon delving (with traps), roleplaying, and combat. There are three stats blocks at the end of the adventure. A greater shadow, Morwena (Red Wizard companion referenced in the first adventure), and Sagt (LN aberrations native to the demiplane). I enjoy the route this adventure is taking and look forward to part 3, A Verdant Tomb.
You can grab The Hidden Page here. You can get the first part of this series here and pre-made Planeswalker pc's here.
