Oz HistoryCon

This Easter weekend saw the inaugural OzHistoryCon, held here in Adelaide. Over 2 days the focus was on historical games, primarily demos, and some traders as well. In its first year the Con was fairly small by other convention standards but was still a great opportunity to see historical games that tend to get lost in the world of mass sci fi and fantasy marketing. That said, there was a Zombie game featured by Grindhouse games called Incursion.... The SHanghai Incident, figues seemed based for Flames of War...

Moving Caves is a real pain in the backside. Time, effort, stuff broken, stuff lost.... but a necessary evil for me. One good thing, however, is the joy of rediscovering past projects and toys. In this case my DBA/DBM armies. I have a few actually, mostly the small DBA size: Polybian Roman, Carthaginian, Gaul, Ancient British, Imperial Roman, Hundred Years War Brits and French, plus a Scots Common and the making of a Feudal Welsh force. Here are some bits and bobs I came across:

So this (and watching king Arthur the other day) now have me hankering for some Dark Ages action with Vikings and Saxons and Picts..oh my!

My mate Owen has added some effects to the bunker photos I took the other day to create a small strip- enjoy!

Pointman ... The forward scout thinks he sees something suspicious

Moving Up ... The LT pushes his squads up to deploy and support the pointman and his backup

VC! ... One of the squads sees movement in the bunker

Taking Fire ... The VC heavy machine gun opens up, the lead squad lays down some fire while the rest of the platoon starts to seek cover and avoid the heavy rounds buzzing around their ears.
