What Happened:  Hutchison struck out three and allowed just one hit during his outing.  Roman Quinn and Jesmuel Valentin both had a paid of hits, as did Scott Kingery who started the game at second base.

Camp Head Count:  36 - 1 = 35.  The Phillies stuck to their pattern of one roster move per day as veteran reliever Francisco Rodriguez was released prior to this game.  Rodriguez had posted a 5.40 ERA over 6 2/3 innings this spring.

On Thursday, the Phillies announced the signing of right-handed pitcher Drew Hutchison, making him the 21st non-roster invitee in Clearwater.  Hutchison has played in parts of four seasons with the Blue Jays and Pirates.  He spent all of 2017 pitching for the Pirates' Triple-A team in Indianapolis, going 9-9 with a 2.56 ERA in 26 starts.  His last major baseball card appearances came within a few 2016 releases from Topps.
