Wow! I cannot believe that today is Christmas Eve. I am so grateful for this time of year when we think about the Savior's birth. It reminds me of why we celebrate Christmas.
This year my sister is visiting from North Carolina and we have had so much fun. Playing in the snow, making gingerbread houses, and of course singing songs. We did the nativity a couple of days ago and got all dressed up for it. Of course since I am pregnant I got to be Mary and Wes was Joseph. It was alot of fun.
On Saturday night we were going to spend time with the Womble's to watch the BYU football game. We had been delivering gifts around the neighborhood and came home to get our wallets. Well, the door would not open and we were locked out in the cold. So to make a story short a locksmith ended up coming and he had to take the whole door knob off. He said that the hardware had a bent in it and it wasn't letting us open the door. So after about an hour waiting in the car we were finally able to get inside. On top of all of this it was free of charge because yep we have had this problem before. So I think he thought they didn't fix it before. Now we have a brand new doorknob. I was so grateful for him coming and helping us get out of the cold. I realized how blessed I am to have a nice warm home to be in instead of out in the cold.
I hope we will all remember the importance of the season and may you all have a very Merry Christmas!

Parent's to be
As most of you know by now the news you have been hearing is correct. I'm pregnant! Right now I am 11 and a half weeks along and I'm feeling great. I have not gotten very sick, it just doesn't quite seem real yet.
Wes is so excited. He says we have to buy a crib and set it up now. But my thinking is it's not due until June so we will just have to start cleaning first and then think about buying things. So if anyone has suggestions on things to buy or if you know good places to purchase cribs let us know.

Wahoo we Finished a Chair!!!
Here is our chair.
So this is one of our beautiful chairs. As you can see it is a beautiful blue warp with a natural white weave, woven in the ever-popular "checker board" pattern. Though many of you may have doubted that I would ever get the seat woven (it did take about 4 months from date of purchase to finished product) here it is and it is even sittable or seatable (if either of those are words consider yourself lucky.)

Happy Thanksgiving!
(This picture added by Wes)
Since Thanksgiving is coming this week I have so much to be grateful for. I am blessed with a wonderful husband who takes good care of me. We live in a wonderful house thanks to my grandparents. Sometimes I get overwhelmed that the house is way to big, or that I feel so unorganized but it truly is a blessing to be living where we are.
Thanks to everyone reading this for your friendship and love. We appreciate each of you. So Happy Thanksgiving and may you remember all that you are grateful for this time of year.

Happy Birthday!!!
I'd like to wish my father a happy birthday he turned 36 today. he does look great for his age doesn't he. I want to let my dad know how much I love him and how much all of his advise means to me even though knowing how to cook salmon right won't change the world but it definately changed dinner the other night. I will never give up because of my dad no matter how hard I have to work, and I will never forget the time you made lemonade with salt instead of sugar.

As promised.....
As promised here is a picture of our progress so far. Two of the chairs are almost done. All we need to do is put another coat of sealant on and then we can work on the seats. But it is a pretty slow process just because we are busy with school and work and are having difficulties finding time when we both want to work on them.
I am hoping to have a chair done by the end of the week so that we can get feedback from everyone. Please let us know what you think so far, we would love your input! Thanks.

Our monthly project
Hello again to all of our family and friends. Lots has happened since the last time any of us have written. I started working at the elementary school and it is soooo nice. I am working 6 hours 3 days a week. Sometimes I can't believe that I am getting paid for hanging out with kids all day.
As some of you may already know Wesley and I have a huge project we are undertaking. We found 4 chairs at our friends parents garage sale and decided to fix them up. Instead of doing them all at once we are doing a chair once a month. The picture you see here is what they looked like when we got them. Not much huh?
We have stained them an english chestnut which is going to look great with the seat colors we have chosen. So far we almost have two chairs done. But we still need to put another sealant coat on and then we can start weaving the seats in a checkerboard pattern with blue and cream.
This probably is not making sence to some of you but we will definately post pictures of our progress so far. Make sure to check back in a week or so to hopefully see the finished product.

Workin hard!
Hello!
This is the very first time that I have even visited our blog. I have decided to add my own thoughts and tell you whats going on. As some of you know Wednesday was my last day working at Pier One Imports. YEAH! Although I am excited to move on with my life I will miss some aspects of working there.
On Monday I will start working at Alpine Elementary as a classroom aide. I did this last year but helped with sixth grade which was so much fun. As much as I would like to do that again I will be with the fifth grade this year. I am sure that I will have many stories and new adventures with over 75 fifth graders.
As for school it is going good so far. I have my first biology test next week and am kind of scared for it. But I am hoping to do alright. I think that my most favorite class right now is Dance. This is just not any dance class this is dance for elementary education. I never thought that I would have so much fun rolling around on a dirty gym floor, running in circles, and even going on a lion hunt and have a blast doing it.
Anyway, things are very busy but we are having fun in the process. - Jessica

What Kind of Nurse do I Want to be?
I have been bombarded by so many options that I am really not so sure I have any idea yet. I have always wanted to help people, which way is the best, I do not know. But I would like to work in a career where I would be able to spend nights, weekends, and holidays with my future family. So that basically eliminates emergency nursing and med\surge nursing. I know that I wouldn’t have to work all night every night or every weekend or holiday but even the stress of working any of those would just not be fun to deal with especially if you have to work a holiday but your family plans a vacation after you have been scheduled and then trying to find some one to cover your holiday shift oh boy not fun at all. I worked as a CNA at TOSH in Murray and dealt with a situation just like that, I never want to deal with that again I would much rather work 9-5.
Nurse practitioner might be something I’d like to pursue because if I started my own practice I could work when I wanted and not have the stress of trying to get others to cover my shifts if I am sick or otherwise unavailable. My wife thinks I am great with kids and I tend to enjoy the time I spend with kids so I think a great option for me would be to open a pediatrics clinic as a nurse practitioner. I therefore would be able to work the times I want to and work with kids, while avoiding the stress of a hospital. The only downside I see is that working with children I might not be able to handle seeing them in pain or with a life threatening injury or terminal illness but I don’t know how much of that I would see in a clinic but, anyway please give me your feedback and feel free to edit my horrible writing style while your at it.
