Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom! She's always there when I need her. If I need advice I know she will help me. She is compassionate, loving, unselfish, a hard worker, and best friend. Thanks for showing me how to love unconditionally and to be strong in the gospel. I love you. Happy Birthday.
Love,
Wesley, Jessica and Sophie Rose

SLC, Sun, 10 months old

On Sunday we went up to Salt Lake with Glen and Gabe to pick up Karla from the airport. Since we were going to be by temple square we decided to leave early and walk around the temple. Here's just a sneak peak of the pictures we took.
Sophie LOVED looking at the flowers, playing in the dirt, and seeing the temple Wes and I got married in. Thanks Glen and Gabe for coming and taking pictures of our family.
On Wednesday April 22 Sophie turned 10 months old. She crawls everywhere and loves to explore. If she sees something on the floor she will put it in her mouth. No matter what it is. She even had a quarter in her mouth the other day. I have no idea how she got it. We love you Sophie!

Just Enough Simple Style

That's right Just Enough Simple Style. What does that mean? Well it's my name, Jess, or better known as the kind of jewelry I will be making. Simple. Stylish. I decided to make my own jewelry since I can never find what I like at the store. As many of you know I used to work for a jewelry company and growing up I loved to create jewelry. But since I've gotten married and had a baby I haven't found time to pursue this talent. Until now. So, let's say that I open a store online. Would you buy one of my items?

Sophie and Reese

Last night Reese came over while Adam and Cami went to see Wicked. We loved having Reese over. Sophie wanted to do everything she did and Reese was nice enough to share her raisins with her. I think these two are going to be really close when they are older.

Road Trip

On March 31st we decided to drive to Ephraim and check out Snow College. Wes has been accepted there for this fall and we wanted to see if he could get into their nursing program there. We set up a tour of the college and wanted to meet with a counselor to see what our odds are at getting his nursing degree here. I couldn't help but feel peace as we drove there. Once we got there we talked to the housing office, met with a counselor and the scholarship lady. It turns out that the scholarship deadline was April 1st. This lady asked if we applied and when we said no she gave us a piece of paper and told us to write down our schooling and financial goals. She is not supposed to let students write things by hand but she told us that she personally looks through the applications and that she would remember it was us.
While we were on the tour we found a writing lab and after we were done walking around we went and typed it up. When we brought it back to her she said that our odds of getting a scholarship are very good. I don't think we will know until late May but I'm grateful for her help and concern.
We also met with an advisor while we were there. He told us that Wes is only 2 classes away from getting his Associate's Degree in General's. He also said that Wes has to take 6 more classes before we can apply to the Nursing program. So if we do go down in the fall we won't be able to apply until he is done with his pre rec's. I'm grateful for how helpful this advisor was and advice he gave to us.

Since Manti is about 2 minutes away we decided to drive to the Temple. It's so beautiful and is literally up on a hill. No matter where you are in Manti you can see the Temple. It reminds me of what Gary E. Stevenson said in Conference on Sunday. " You are Never lost when you can see the Temple." That's what I feel whenever I see the Temple. I know that if we keep the Temple in our lives that we won't stray from the gospel. I know Heavenly Father is with us in our lives and he will always be apart of our decisions if we let him. No matter where we are.
