Afternoon at Fish Lake

Before Wes started school we decided to take a little trip to Fish Lake. Neither one of us had ever been there before. It was beautiful!
We saw lots of wildflowers
Went for some walks along the lake

Did a little fishing
and just had fun spending time together. We can't wait until Grandma Jewel and Poppy come so we can go out on the boat.

As of now....

Sophie has started Potty Training. She's been telling me she needs to go potty lately. Some days are better than others but she is doing great! She loves wearing her "pantsies."
I've been making things for my hair. Like this felt rose headband, and trying out some new hairstyles.
And some fabric clips for my sister and nieces.
Sophie wants to be just like Daddy these days, she never leaves his side and has a hard time when he leaves. She told me she wants to go to school just like Daddy. So she does. Every morning. The other day we practiced spelling her name.
Wes has officially started nursing school. I am so proud of him for getting into the program and I know he will be a great nurse when he's all done. You can do it!

We now have internet in our house. Which will hopefully mean more blog updates. It took us a few days to get it up and running because we didn't have a modem. After buying one at Radioshack for $96 we stopped at D.I. after running a few errands and found a modem from Qwest with all the cords for just $8. The best part is that it works! We saved $88! Pretty sweet huh?
And there you have it. A quick update of our week.

Family Time Part 2

In July my family has a reunion where we spend a week together. This year we spent a few days in Park City.
We got to ride the Gondola.

and play some frisbee golf

What a good looking crew! Right?
Oh course we had to see how many people we could fit in a bobsled. Six and a half.

Fire Trucks and Ponies

About a week after we moved here our ward was having a Family Fair night. We decided to go and were not disappointed.
They had pony rides
We had to watch lots of kids ride the pony first and then we wanted to try it out too.
We also got to ride around the block in a fire truck! It was pretty noisy when the sirens went off. But Sophie LOVED it and so did we.
What a fun ward party huh? They also rented a dunk tank, popcorn machine, cotton candy machine and a snow cone maker. All free of charge, of course. It was a great evening out together as a family.

Our neighbor the Park

There are some good things about having the park as a neighbor. And also some bad. But the good thing is it's only across the street!

Play tic tac toe and throw the frisbee
Practice the monkey bars with Daddy
You can try out the big girl swings
The bad thing is whenever we go outside or get home Sophie always yells, "PARK!!!!" I've learned to go play in the backyard with Sophie and not in the front yard, otherwise we'd be at the park all day long!

A sneak peak

This past week has been pretty busy. I've just been trying to relax and get settled into our new place. We don't have internet where we live now so you probably won't see as many updates as before. But I'll try to update as much as possible.
Most of you have been wanting to see pictures of our new place. Here's just a sneak peak. I'll post more when I can.

Sophie's Room
Here's a picture of Sophie's room from the doorway. She now sleeps in a toddler bed ( which we picked up from a yard sale for $17. Mattress and all.) She also has a new dresser in her room for all her clothes. She's never had one before so this is heaven!

Master Bedroom
Our place before was very small. We had to keep our dresser in Sophie's room because our bed took up the whole room. Well, not anymore!
The ceilings in this room are high enough that we can finally have our canopy bed I've dreamed of. I've wanted to drape fabric on our bed and had just enough that I got for free at a yard sale. (Thanks Koren!) I feel like royalty everytime I go into my room. Wouldn't you?
Of course I had to take a picture of our washer and dryer. It's so nice not to have to tote my laundry to the laundry room and pay money to do it. I can just walk in the kitchen start a load and move on with my day.
Since you might want to come and visit I thought I would share with you the outside. Cute huh? The yard looks a bit different now but you get the idea. Home sweet home. For the next few years. With 3 bedrooms, plenty of space, a washer and dryer and a giant yard for Wes to garden in. Life is good. A little messy at the moment and still sort of caotic but we are loving every new adventure.
