Todoroni duelling officer released for Flintloque and En Garde

The expansion of the Army of Nepolise in the World of Valon continues with a characterful miniature sculpted by Nikki Chatwin.  Following up on his recent Todoroni this time is a Captain of Hussars on foot with blade drawn. Popularly requested to lead your sections in Flintloque, to act as the officer of line, light or dismounted cavalry in Slaughterloo or to be a made duellist for the En Garde rules (which can be used by any Valon race as well as Crystal and Armorican Elves).

The Todoroni of Nepolise are allies of the Ferach Empire and serve under Emperor Mordred from Catalucia to the Witchlands.  Their army contains infantry, cavalry, artillery and more.  They feature in 5025 War in Catalucia and in 5026 Death in the Snow game books and of course in 5030 Slaughterloo.

56135 Todoroni Duellist Officer:  A one piece metal miniature in uniform armed with a drawn sword and with hussar's pelisse in uniform.  Stands 36mm tall.

This new metal miniature is a 'little' Todoroni meaning it scales to Elves and Orcs in height.  Here it is next to the hero of 5024 Escape the Dark Czar beginners set General Saindoux as well as next to the huge Frusacti Grenadieria Sapper and the lowly Todoroni Servant too with his tray.

If you missed our remastering and release of the mighty 5107 The Londinium Coach you can now have this 240mm long model (coach with four horses) on its own or as its parts (wheels etc) or the crew (driver and footman). Now released a new pack suitable for use in skirmish games alongside the Orcs of Albion or as duellists in the new En Garde game rules. This is our sole release for the World of Valon this month. 

 

 

54058 Albion Orc Duellists: Three 28mm metal Orcs armed with pistols and sword dressed in uniform or plain shirt. You can get them as a pack or as single poses within it on the page. Fit them into your forces. 

 

 

A unique game which is self contained and can be had in print and as a paid digital download En Garde! Create a character, join a school of sword play, set your arena and take up sword or pistol against an opponent. There is much more too. Look to the website to learn more. While En Garde is set during the end days of the Crystal Empire of the Elves you can use duellists of any 'human sized' fantasy range (heck even Humans if you wish) with the rules with no adaption. Perhaps a couple of Orcs are touring the city of Lyonesse and cause some offence?

Elf Revolutionary Duellists released for En Garde and Flintloque

The last new release for the World of Valon in 2022 is revealed!  A great code as pack and single miniatures too with three new Elves suitable for En Garde and for Flintloque too.  Heck even as officers of Elf Line units in Slaughterloo.

En Garde is a fast play new game of sword, pistol, horseback and other forms of duelling set in the fading days of the Crystal Empire. Season of the Witch! A wee bit of fun with a take on a halloween classic the broomstick riding female caster of hexes and spells. Our lady of Alternative Armies this time rides upon a metal broom with an arrow head upon it. She wears a long cloak and has a suitable hat upon her head. Her 'broom' lifts from the ground on magical energy.   In the above picture she leaves behind a skeleton from the VNT47 Dem Bones set.

 

Supplied in one piece (the miniature, the plume of magic energy down to the pumpkins on the base) a 28mm scale metal miniature. A lovely figure to add to your collection. Supplied unpainted and without a base (shown on a 30mm round resin base).

This month our lady of Alternative Armies was inspired by a genre of miniatures we have not really touched upon but we felt was rather fitting.  Ladies can lug around giant wrenches just as well as any man can so in an alternate history which features boilers and vessels, mechanical marvels and rivets here she is! Supplied in one piece metal Alternia wears an open military style great coat and a stovepipe hat complete with goggles.  She holds an open pocket watch and an arrow headed staff or tool. A great miniature for collecting, painting or using in a 19th century imagi-nations game.

Taking an eye glass to our ranges we thought that the AS003 Cyborg Enslaver could easily fit into a steampunk setting as a mechanical servant or bodyguard.  From the Reluctant Brigands pack FL26-01 makes a fine henchman or robber.  Lastly the mighty HOF142 Mecha X1 with its humanoid head (rather than the saucer shaped one which suits space opera) suits a 90mm tall creation of iron and coal.

Alternative Armies News for September 2022 

Due to the death of her highness the late Queen Elizabeth II on the 8th September and the period of shock and official mourning which has followed Alternative Armies has rightly changed and reduced the original plan for this month.  Releases meant for September will now come in October 2022.  The company will recommence news on Wednesday 21st September for the following. 

We have three lots of remastered and returned Asgard 28mm miniatures in the FM Fantasy range which will see us well into the FM30's.  This work is continuing well and we hope to get more re-releases each month until years end.  The HOT 15mm Fantasy range will see a resumption of the Savage Lizardmen army and its growth.  USEME series will get another complete starter set of miniatures, booklet, scenarios and so forth with a saving too; look out for 'Compound Interest'.

Ten different 28mm Elf Duellists now at Alternative Armies

The new page for En Garde the game of duelling in the Crystal Empire of the Elves is here!  The game itself will be released later in 2020 but now we have put all of the classic now re-mastered Elf duellists onto the website.  Ten single miniatures and two packs with a saving.  Go HERE or read on for more.  Great for any fantasy setting.  Our last news and releases for June 2020.

Duelling in the Crystal Empire at the dusk of Wylde Magick and on the eve of the Elvish Civil War.  In a time just before Flintloque the Skirmish the Elves placed honour above all else.  Each regiment in the armee had its own heroes and they fought to first blood or even to the death.  

This collection of 28mm scale miniatures are all suitable for use in the En Garde game as well as other World of Valon titles as officers or personalities.  Packs and single miniatures for maximum choice.  All Elves shown in 25mm square bases.

CE25 Elf Garde Duellist Pack

The Garde are the new wave of regiments in the Crystal Empire who ally themselves to Crown Prince Mordred ahead of his mother the Empress Morgana.  They feud with the backwards looking Imperials and their regiments.  This code contains five different 28mm metal miniatures approx 28mm average height. Elf duellist with Sword, Elf duellist with Rapier, Elf Officer duellist attacking with Sword, Elf Officer duellist at guard with Sword and Elf Officer duellist lunging with Sword. These miniatures are not supplied with bases and are supplied unpainted.

CE26 Imperial Elf Duellist Pack

The Imperials are the heart of the Crystal Empire and their loyalty is to the Empress Morgana.  They feud with the new wave of Garde regiments and their officers who claim the Crown Prince Mordred as their paragon. This code contains five different 28mm metal miniatures approx 28mm average height. Elf Officer duellist in plate armour lunging with Sword, Elf duellist with twin Swords, Elf duellist attacking with Sword, Female Elf Officer duellist running with Two Handed Sword and Elf Officer duellist with Sword raised. These miniatures are not supplied with bases and are supplied unpainted. 

The Crystal Elf Empire range contains many suitable figures for duelling.  You can see the whole range HERE.  Among these the pack CE18 Crystal Elf Warriors is one of the finest for this.  Above are three figures from CE18 all ready to duel.

By Sword the Running Through is Done – Free Flintloque Micro Scenario

You are a lone Ferach Elf officer.  Your patrol was set upon by foul bestial Orcs and now you are all that remains.  Your horse has bolted and it is long gone.  Your pistols are smashed, dropped in the mud and then trodden upon. All you have is your blade, your wits and your skill taught by the Academie.  Can you evade the enemy and make it back to your fellow Armoricans?

This week the popular poses of Elf Duellists return to Alternative Armies. These will get their own news but you can see them HERE before that.  Great for fantasy and for Flintloque in the lead up to the release of the duelling game En Garde.  Micro Scenarios are something we used to do many years ago so here is a new one for free!
