what's wrong with this nigga
>>130357922I don't know. Ask him. He seems to think Livvy is a phony. Considering Robert Smith has claimed to be a fan of Guts and Sour, I personally doubt she's faking her fandom. That guy just has a stick in his ass and acting like somebody we should see as an authority.

why did counter culture music become culture music?
>>130356962Conservatism is interesting in that it not only counters modern culture, but it predates it. It seems paradoxical, hence your confusion, but it isn't.
no monoculture means no counter culture dawgger, now with the internet everyone can find people in their own clique and just do that
>>130356712whatever you deem as counterculture will become culture after sufficient time. Noise music has a blossoming scene thx to the internet but even before then it was celebrated
>>130356712Well, you can't be a universal atheist; you can believe in that, but in reality, you grew up in a certain culture, with certain fundamental rules and concepts, and when you reject them, you become a Christian atheist, for example. You're still in this boat, just rowing in the other direction.
>>130356712Because any pocket of cultural resistance that once held value to you has been absorbed by mass culture and then fed back to you as simulacra. There are no real music scenes anymore, everything is just data-mulch for the learning machines to spoonfeed you your next favourite musical psyop. Resistance is not just futile, it’s a profitable fantasy.
Zoomer music is horrific. It's civilizational collapse-tier. We didn't realize how good we had it in the 2010s, especially the mid-2010s. I used to talk shit on 2010s music. I fell for the Mark Fisher meme that music started losing a distinct sound and style in the 2000s-2010s. I recently revisited 2010s music. It's night-and-day from Zoomer music. Millennial optimism truly came through in 2010s music. It's so upbeat, catchy, and energetic. There's even a lot of optimism present. Music truly is at an all time low right now. This phenomenon isn't merely a desire for the past. Bars don't even play Zoomer music. Bars would rather keep Losing My Religion on loop than play Zoomer music. One set of lyrics I've been thinking about: I knew my rent was gon' be late about a week ago,I worked my ass off, but I still can't pay it, though,But I got just enough to get off in this club,Have me a good time, before my time is up. Millennials, despite living in a post-9/11 world of profound political and economic change, still found life in friends, relationships, and partying. These lyrics are hardly possible now, because Zoomers don't drink, they don't socialize, they don't go to the club, they don't go to the bar, and they don't socialize. There's no mischief to be had, because everything is subject to the panopticon. Zoomers literally think that crazy house parties never existed. This isn't a bash Zoomers thread. I'm sorry if you take it that way. It's just that your cultural expressions reflect the spirit of the times (despair). I'd like to apologize to, among others: >Maroon 5 >Rhianna >The Chain Smokers >Skrillex Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

>>1303377922010s was full of a lot of revivalist dreck and nostalgia porn that has been the death of culture in the 2020s, but it did have an actual indie scene that wasnt totally destroyed yet by COVID and algorithms

>>130357768the question was pretty simple:"can you guys hear bass guitar?"
>>130357844Besides using it to play wonderwall, is there a legitimate reason outside of style to get a jumbo over a dreadnought? I was under the impressions a well built x-braced dreadnought was both louder and more projective than a jumbo body style.

Ah, shaddup.
Doo-doo to you, Frank. If I want movie music I'll listen to Wonderwall. C
You’ll recognize this not to be a phenomena related specifically to the industry, but rather to all of life. Before you compromise- before you allow yourself to be socialized against your will- you recognize the primary pursuit that is being raced, fought, and competed for:Everyone wants to be more object than others. The object happens before you, to you, and there is nothing you can do but rationalize it as natural. That means, that when a group of “Famous" individuals arrange themselves to assert object dominance over you, it is not an order of respect, it is not a tradition of hazing, nor is a training of humility.Simply, it is to- regardless of true objectivity- guarantee the ability to move before you. This cannot be taken with ration. You must recognize that you are being surrounded for a controlled attack. These issue with most fame today is that it is an entirely compromised premise. Even if you are of natural genius, even if you are of natural superiority, you must first allow yourself to be compromised by the attempts of others. If not, they will not allow you to move on your natural superiorities and talents.A man famous for dancing in stage as a character he allowed others to design of him (because if he didn’t, they would not support his dream of being a famous musician) is more socially adapted than a man who has figured out the default error causing all forms of cancer.Comment too long.
