Why are cats like this

Revealing the belly is a sign of trust.
It is an extremely vulnerable part of their body.
You are breaking that trust by touching them there.
That's why they get so pissy.

>Dogs don't do that
That's true, but most dogs aren't autistic on a taxological level.
>>
>>5096688
What have you done to personally remedy that anon?
How many pajeets have you stuffed and mounted on the walls of your parlor?
>>
>>5099559
>>Gives off "don't touch me" signals
That's your issue, they aren't. The back leg came to secure itself, it wasn't fully pushing yet, just a gentle check.
That cat wasn't really signaling for a belly rub, however, they really curl in when they do so, its unmistakable if you aren't a moron.
>They're all tsundere and autistic
It make sense if you remember they are about as much a prey specie as a predator one. Everything that matches the size of a cat will potentially fuck it up. A dog can seriously injure one by playing with it.
Also, you have to be a bit slower because they see events passing a bit quicker than us, things move faster in their perception.

Is it considered convergent evolution how carnivorous plants like the venus flytrap evolved to have fang-like spikes for trapping their prey which look a lot like the fangs of carnivorous animals, or how their insect-trapping mechanism looks very similar to an animal biting something?
>>
>>5098065
Such mechanisms evolved a billion years ago in microorganisms. desu I think there's some else influencing evolution we haven't scratched at. God gene theory really doesn't make sense the deeper you dive into mimicry. At what point does it no longer differ from convergent evolution
>>
I'll go with no, just because the features look similar, doesn't mean they do the same thing. In the case of the flytrap the "teeth" for a cage so the prey can't escape until the trap closes completely, meanwhile animals use teeth to chew, crush and shred .
>>
>>5099864
So it's converging with baleen whales then.

>Maurice Vidal Portman (21 March 1860 – 14 February 1935) was a British naval officer, who is best known for documenting several Andamanese tribes between 1879 and 1901 when he was posted as a superintendent of the Andaman Island Penal Colony.[1]

>Portman continued to take photographs of the Andamanese in Port Blair until the end of his stay in the island, documenting information about their anthropological details, showing a marked interest in measuring the penises of the Andamanese.[6][7] A significant portion of his photography involved posing the Andamanese in mock-Greek homoerotic compositions. Portman repeatedly praised the male Andamanese body, writing that "many of the men are very good-looking; as they have none of the thick lips, high cheekbones, and flat noses of the negro type; though the women are rather of the Hottentot Venus order of beauty"

>He never married and left no descendants.[1]
>>
>>5100787
>In 1880, in an effort to establish contact with the Sentinelese, Portman, who was serving as a colonial administrator to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, led an armed group of Europeans along with convict-orderlies and Andamanese trackers[clarification needed] (whom they had already befriended) to North Sentinel Island. On their arrival, the islanders fled into the treeline. After several days of futile search, during which they found abandoned villages and paths, Portman's men captured six people: an elderly man, a woman and four children.[41][42] The man and woman died of illness shortly after their arrival in Port Blair and the children began to fall ill as well. Portman hurriedly sent the children back to North Sentinel Island with a large quantity of gifts in an attempt to establish friendly relations.[18] Portman visited the island again in 1883,[30] 1885 and 1887.[40]

26 years ago when I was a little boy, my neighbor killed a horse.

Her and my mom were close friends. My mom led me to the horse and it bit my hand. I was completely ok with it. There was no bleeding. I put my hand out with closed fingers.

As far as I know, my parents neighbor, instructed someone to call the city or, unlikely called them herself, to report the horse for rabies. The horse was shot and there was no follow-up. I was then blamed for the death by my family.

I know for a fact that my neighbor killed this horse because she didn’t like the sounds it made.

Now she is joining animal welfare groups. I’m trying to figure out what to do. I believe she has no right.

Any thoughts on what I could do?

>>
>>5100232
Chemically they're all identical but wool is defined as more crimpy and thinner than hair. Some sheep grow both, some only grow hair so you don't have to shear them.
>>
>>5100323
Wool and Fur are both hair. They just grow differently and have different texture and structure.

he's probably mostly talking about the blubber-form fat we build up, which I think evolved to protect the abdominal wall from being punctured with sharp sticks. Whoever our ancestors were, they stabbed other too. The lack of body hair is another thing, which I don't have an explanation for. One thing the aquatic ape theory has in its favor is the reproductive organs that work underwater, for intact males at least. I think we're more buoyant than any of the great apes too, we can escape bigger stronger monkeys by swimming.

Is London just a city where foxes are just self domesticating themselves? I keep hearing stories and seeing videos of foxes just chilling around humans or inviting themselves into people's houses and making friends with people. Every time I see a story of a fox walking into a gym to watch people work out, or get onto a bus to take a nap, or get on a train to find new territory, or just walking around in broad daylight with humans while most people just treat him like one another guy going about his day it's always London. I don't think any other city or population of people just accepts wild foxes to the point they have started to just mingle with humans.
>>
>>5100643
>Is London just a city where foxes are just self domesticating themselves?
Yes.

>[...] people just accepts wild foxes to the point they have started to just mingle with humans.
Not all Londoners appreciate Foxes. We can expect mass killings and hunting of Foxes return in UK in the next 2-5 years.

Anyway, fresh bread, please?
