Let's do this right and be creative with it.

Theme: Transportation

All submissions must feature transportation, whether it's traditional like a car or more abstract like an elevator, interpret the meaning of transportation however you wish.
Competition photos must've been taken from the start of this month and submitted by the end of next month (we're currently mid month so a longer timeframe is needed).
You are welcome to post old photos but just mention in your post that they are old.
Get as creative as you want and have fun.

Rollei 35B with it's 40mm triotar lens, I shot some fujifilm 400 iso film in there, forgot the settings.

Was a bit of an unexpected thing, the car just popped up on the street and was left there for a minute, I had only my Rollei 35B on hand, not even my phone so I just snapped it and trusted the selenium meter for the exposure. Was happy it was actually decently in focus too.

Why is every picture in this thread lacking any sort of creativity or artistic intent? They're all just basic pictures of cat with varying degrees of image quality.
The bird thread is 1000 times better than this garbage pit of uncreativity.

I see your work, and before say something about it, i would say that looking for your style maybe its not the best, but i dont think that identified a little bit of that is to bad. Let me explain, knowing your style is great, but you dont have a strong style yet, there might be things, sure, but when you think about great directors, just stay mainstream, like tarantino, he is not making a movie thinking of following the path of his style. he is thinking in the shit he likes, and THAT is his style. is literally mix the shit you like and see what happend. You can doit manually as i said, mix or you can do it the natural way of just letting time show you what you like repeating de most. Most people would tell you the boat photo is great, i think you miss a big photo. That photo with just a slightly better composition would be amazing, you have the 2 subjects, the black trees and the boat with reflect, you divided in the rule of thirds, but you doit really cheap, the trees are to far in the inside of the left third, and the boat is better, i think the point allings nicely. If you want to play with BIG subjects, like super big black (trees again) and white ( for boat) you need to doit in a really tight composition, otherwise looks like something that its not finish. If big characters in game watch the composition nicely, this is top tier shit or you look the best photo of the bigger photographers and think they almost cacht it? no, they make it perfect, that is why its so hard. And the road photo tilted 45 its reeally fucking nice, i think you should explore more that, its wild and purist, and FAGGOTS! photographers would say ist not good, fuck them. That photo has movement, and that its no so easy to achive, it like you mix some shit and came that really good, explore that. That composition its better that the boat, even tho the boat its good, it gives that feel of somethings missing, but if i had the same time as you as i think it was short, i would miss to

Color doesn't matter.

Today when you can adjust colors just by pressing a button there's nothing more fake than a color.

You should only shot B&W.

Black and White photography is real and pure. Shape, shadow and light - this is what makes your photography look special, not some bright oversaturation. If your picture looks good without colors then your picture is worthy

Shoot for light contrast and it won't look boring.

If you shoot boring flat subjects then it's going to look bad. Which is where colour can help by bringing attention to your subject.

I'm not much into specs and all but is this really true? Talking even outside on iphone sized screens. Whenever I look at iphone photos on my 4k monitor they seem rather bad. But I have the iphone 13 which is kinda old already.

But the ricoh sensor is still quite bigger isn't it
>>
>>4509235

of course not, phones are inherently bottom barrel, they get truckloads of shilling since they are by far the most profitable dogshit ever and spies on you with over 7 ais now, also that there fake res via ai upscaling

My astronomy club is doing an outreach on smart telescopes in a few more months so I decided it pick up an S30. Its been delightful so far; setup is a breeze compared to my primary rig. Think it will be a great little thing for more casual imaging. We're not in the best time of year for my FOV, but I was able to get a little time in on M5.

You can't photograph stars with a bayer sensor.
>>

>All of those colors are fake
So is every photograph from every cmos + bayer or x-trans sensor. Point being?
Its a cheap astro camera, made for accessibility and reach. Did you guys eat lead as a child or smth. Also even the smallest stars are atleast 4x4 so still accurate.

>You can't photograph stars with a bayer sensor

If I were to to shoot a darkie I would blast them with a fill flash to illuminate them if lighting needed it. Negroes can be quite dark at times, but you know what else is dark? Actual "black" objects like a mousepad, a camera body, lens, etc and you know what? those photograph just fine. Same with literal coal miners covered in fucking coal. It's all just shades of grey and unless it's something like vantablack, it's not pure black, and your camera should pick up details just fine.

Every single instance of a darkie in a photo or video being too dark to see (when not clearly in shadow in a high contrast scene) is literally just overbaked fake contrast added in post-processing or a camaera preset used by retarded JPEG shooters that crushes shadows and applies non-linear curves that crush shadows and highlights.

If you want inky blacks, you need a scene with real contrast. A black person standing next to a lighter skinned person, including a literal albino, is never and was never high contrast scene.

Pic related is more how that image should actually look.

>>4502185
Lay off the lightroom or in-camera processing and you won't have to "bump up" anything. Unnatural fake contras is not the default look. That's the slop look. If that's part of your workflow, you're doing it wrong.

>>
>>4506939
They're all just tits for tits and that's disgusting.

Maybe this is because they're random girls from Russian and not Helmut's models from California. IDK, they all suck for some reason, not only models but also pictures.

In my dreams I'd be doing it like Helmut, but in reality this is just sad
>>
>>4506946
This echoes my experience. I was editing a girls mag in the 00s and its really a self driving train once the models see you as that kind of guy. I did painal for getting pics published for like 5 years. Briefly scared during metoo but funnily nothing came up. Some girls cried and some loved it the only constant was my load goes in their ass and they get their 10 minutes of fame. Im in a small country (baltics) and its funny how often there is someone in the media who I buttfucked 20 years ago. Happily married nowadays and I only do landscape photography for myself

Ok, I give up.

People posting outside of photo threads are physically unable to say anything else about photography than "you should buy a better digital camera".

Yeah sure anon, my opinion is wrong because I should buy a better digital body. Then I'd understand. Good luck.

Forgive me for asking two very simple questions about your own experiences

If you don't want people to ask about your own photography experiences, you probably just shouldn't bring them up to begin with snowflake

There's already a term for this in the used car market - they call it the culture of "I know what I have"
>>
>>4508900
>"anon did not in fact, know what he had"
>>
>>4508900
I remember seeing an ad for an absolutely rusted out old "rare" beetle sitting in a field where the seller who had inherited it claimed that their grandad or whoever had been offered a specific sum some 2 and half decade ago, with pictures of the car from back then etc, and they "did not want sell below that". Problem is that back then it may have been worth some money as it was somewhat complete, but sitting outside for decades even with price appreciation as these things have become more popular it was still way more than what it was worth in the condition it was in. Guess that sort of thing goes in the family. It is a shame with all these folks sitting on perfectly fixable stuff that they think they can do themselves, but in reality can't only for the thing to sit and rot until they die of old age.

i like this fellas videos about camera e-waste but that half laugh he does in the middle of random sentences that aren't funny is kinda grating once you notice it

I need some advice on posing people who are awkward in front of the camera.
It's always been my dream to do these kinds of super staged portrait shoots and I've finally built up the confidence to ask some friends to take part in a shoot. However from snapping a few pics of them previously I know that they're kinda awkward in front of the camera and after doing one shoot a while ago I've realized I'm not too confident posing people yet.
Making him wear sunglasses helped a bit, but other than that I didn't really know what to do other than instructing him to just look into the distance and that kind of worked.

Any advice or shared experience is appreciated. I've heard that you're not supposed to micro-manage your subject's poses to make them look natural, but I'm not quite sure how to actually do that.

hi. I'm making an evangelion:death and rebirth styled LUT and kinda need some RAW files of japanese foliage of whatever to color match.

I wanted the LUT to be as faithful to the reference as possible and the only foliage that I can work with are equatorial ones like palm, narra and yakal (i live in the philippines), so having actual japanese foliage for reference would be a big help.

thanks in advance :3
