From RayR: 15mm Scottish Pikemen (546 points)

Well, we've all been waiting for our previous year's Champion to start his dash to the finish. So not to disappoint, here's Ray with his final run-in:

Its a big one!! Like Tamsin I've been busy painting pike units, not Swiss though, but Scots for the Battle of Flodden. 

There are 16 units of 16 figures. 15 represent King James IV's command at the battle and one unit the green flagged unit Lord Home's is from his command.

All the pikemen are from Peter Pig while the front rank troops are from a variety of manufacturers including Essex, Peter Pig, Donnington, Frei Korps, MY, Feudal and  Minifigs.

There are another 30 odd of these pike blocks left to paint, I've stared some, but don't think they'll make the Challenge! Unlike some other stuff waiting in the wings!!!!

Excellent work Ray. I imagine this is only the first sandbag to fall away from you as you dash in? Cheeky git.

These sixteen (!) units with their lovely banners all proudly flappity-flapping will give Ray 546 points. Yep, you read right. 546. That is a shed-load of points in anyone's books! Well done young man!  

Now, the question is: Does Tamsin have the 200+ points to bridge the gap?

Lovely work Ray! I quite like the plaid jacket on Sir Ewan and Graham's excellent bright yellow banner should draw the requisite amount of artillery fire from the Government forces.

These commanders will give Ray 69 points, drawing him within 100 points of Tamsin's current total. It's getting exciting as we near the final week!

From RayR: 15mm Scots Cavalry and British Grenadiers (33 points)

From Ray:

For my 10th entry, we're crossing the Irish sea back to Scotland, here we have two units that fought on either side at the Battle of Killicrankie.

Firstly we have the very small troop of Scots Cavalry, there were only 40 men in the troop, hence only 5 figures in the unit, really it should have been 3 or 4 figures, but that would have looked a little daft! 

Again they're Essex figures and have a mixed uniform. 

The second entry are Lauders Grenadiers, they were made up from the three regts of the Scots Brigade, Balfour's, Ramsay's and Mackay's. I think I may have to repaint some of their faces as the ink has set a little heavy on them, but hey ho!!

Great work Ray. I remember when I started blogging a little over two years ago I came across Ray's blog and enjoyed following his new foray into the Nine Years War. Flags, art, history, all excellent stuff and here he is, still faithfully bashing away at it!  I applaud your single-minded focus on this period Ray, it's quite inspiring! Nonetheless, I have to ask: When will we see a game featuring all these lovely miniatures?

These two units will give Ray 33 points. Well done Mr. Rousell!

From RayR: 15mm Williamite War in Ireland Jacobite Cavalry (52 points)

I've been a busy boy, for this entry I'm crossing the Irish Sea back to Ireland, for the Jacobite Parker's Horse who fought at the Battle of the Boyne. Believe it or not the figures are from Essex, flags by myself and bass from Warbases. 

This is my last Jacobite Horse regt, for the battle, if and I'll stress, if I decided to do any more Horse regts, they'll be for Aughrim. 

I've got a few odds and sods nearly ready for the challenge, so hopefully I'll get them finished this weekend, including a few 28mm figures, that'll please James!!

That is quite a sharp unit in their grey and black, very nice Ray, and congratulations on getting all the cavalry done for the Battle of the Boyne!

Parker's Horse with their colours will give Ray 52 points. I'm looking forward to what you have for us in 28mm...
