Originally started these two Victorian era Grave robbers for the villains bonus round. But they were not done in time so Burke and Hare have stayed on my painting desk for too long so I thought I should finish them while watching the Curling! The 2 figures are West Wind Productions, part of the 'Empire of the Dead' range and as such are both 28mm scale. I did also consider doing them for the Casualty round but again another dead line missed (Har! Har! Har! - ed.).

Also a solitary Skytrex Action 200 range Opel Blitz Truck.  I scrounged the truck from a friend and have painted it in civilian livery as I want to use it as a Spanish Civil War truck. I know It's not exactly correct but it is close enough at 10mm that I should get away with it. I have a planned Game of SCW with Posties Rejects and am just cobbling together troops as you read this. So I hope to have some to show next week.

Additionally here is a Spartan Games Uncharted Seas Sea monster. I am not sure what scale one would attache to this resin Water elemental, as while the ships are supposedly 1/600th scale I suspect this beast will eventually be used in some 28mm Fantasy skirmish game. 

Ha! Great work Clint. Those two grave robbers are wonderfully characterful and you've done a magnificent job on their faces. (I now need a set of these...). The truck will look great for SCW gaming (you often need a lot of them and some variation adds to the overall look I think). The sea monster is very scary. We play Dystopian Wars but I've always wanted to try Uncharted Seas for no other reason for the fun of encountering monsters like this on the high seas. Fun!

This interesting selection of miniatures will give Clint 18 points, just enough for him to meet his second Challenge target of 950 points. Congratulations! Very nicely done, sir!

From RossM: WWII German Wespe, Marder III & Anti-Tank Guns (62 points)

First up there are two self propelled guns from Britainia Miniatures. Both are 20mm in scale and if I am correct there is a Marder III and a Wespe - although I think the barrel of the gun is in correct for a Wespe. Could be wrong as I have the had the kits for a long time.

Next there are three Tank killers from Battlefront in 15mm. The first pair are Jagdpanzer IV's with which I have gone for a bolder style with the camo than normal for me. 

The next tank is a Jagdpanther which does not have as bold a camo pattern this time. All a great miniatures to paint with a surprising amount of detail.

Now three anti-tank guns. The crew figures are from SHQ and all are 20mm in scale. 

The guns came from Skytrex and include a PAK 43 - (this model really show why it was called a barn door), PAK 40 & PAK 38. 

Only the crew have been painted for the Challenge.

I may have said this before but 20mm is my favourite scale for this period, especially for the Late War era.

Great work Ross. Very nice camo on the vehicles and I really like the bases you've done for the AT guns - nice texture with the mix of tufts and static grass.  

These tank destroyers and anti-tank gun crews will give Ross 62 points. Nice job!

From RossM: 15mm WWII German Assault Guns, Infatntry Gun & 28mm Vikings (46 points)

These entries cover a range of scales and two very different periods. The first pictures are of a pair of Sturmtigers in 15mm from Battlefront Miniatures Great miniatures that paint up well and really catch the inherent power of these tanks. There are no decals on these as they have been misplaced at present.

The next set of pictures are of a 150mm IG from Skytrex and crew from SHQ. Only the crew are included as a part of this entry as the gun has been on the painting table for ages. All of these figures are in 20mm and this would be my scale of choice for WW2.

Lastly, there are a pair of 28mm Vikings from Gripping Beast's earlier range of Vikings. These have been based as skirmishers for Impetus. Excellent figures that capture the period well and are remarkably easy to paint. The choice of colour on the bottom of the buckler may well change

Great stuff Ross. I like how smooth and clean your paint style is - that infantry gun with its crew is particularly fine. I agree with you in that the 20mm scale seems to hit a sweet spot for WWII gaming, especially if you want to have a bit of kit on the table.

This assortment figures and models will give Ross 46 points. Well done!

From FranL: 20mm WWII Bedford Trucks and Command Jeep (48 points)

Fran, not wanting Ray to get any airs of superiority in his current lead, has submitted these four 3-ton Bedford trucks (lorries) and a jeep carrying a set of jaunty officers.

The Bedfords are 20mm scale from Frontline Wargaming while the Jeep is from Skytrex.

This set will net Fran 48 points which will help reset the imbalance to his universe. Well done!
