back in 2010, I posted about the Auburn Cabin Speedster... and I think I just stumbled across a photo of that same car way back in 1932 from
I'm only guessing it's the same one.
orignally the color photos were posted in https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/12/woodlight-headlights-number-one-in.html where there are a couple others
https://www.flickr.com/photos/sdasmarchives/49339447263/in/album-72157712543534427/ for the black and white photo source, the Gladys O’Donnell Collection, she was a charter member of the 99s

If you are the type to plan your days to the minute, my car is NOT for you. Unless you have a museum!
But if you are the kind to never leave without your toolbox, you may qualify
This Maxim is all but reliable. It will be 100 years old and everything that can leak does,
Rad, oil pan, differential joints, carb etc...everything drips.
And gas mileage is calculated by the drum, not gallons, It does not even register on the fuel efficiency spectrum.
Other clarification : it would be more exact to speak of "decelarators" when referring to what other cars have what is called "brakes"

there is a website dedicated to speedsters, of all brands, by someone that wrote a book about the speedster style.
the site includes a lot of brands, like Oldsmobile, Mercer, Stutz, Knox, Stanly, National, etc etc
the site is a side effect of the book the author wrote, and Hagerty did a book review on it https://www.hagerty.com/media/automotive-history/the-definitive-book-on-classic-speedsters-requires-a-slow-roll

the first Pontiac race car
This rig started life as a regular Pontiac Six. The brand's first-ever model, it was a more affordable version of the Oakland Six. Originally sold by McRorie-Sautter, a New York dealer, as a two-door sedan, the Pontiac spent only a short time with its first owner when a fire destroyed its interior.
The dealership bought back the damaged vehicle and sent it to Willoughby Coachworks, where it was re-bodied into a two-seat speedster. Along with the new body, the dealership also changed the vehicle's purpose.

Instead of putting it up for sale in its showroom, McRorie-Sautter entered the Six in the 1926 Sherrill New York hill climb.
And not only it won first place in its class, but it also scored a third-place finish in the unlimited displacement category. Thus it became the first-ever Pontiac race car, as well as the first Poncho to win an event.

Porsche Speedster history info
The basic 356 Coupe cost $300 more than the Jaguar XK120.
Porsche came to cut-down the 356 cabriolet on the same production line as the 356 by removing trimmings and weather protection to save weight and cost – after Max Hoffman in New York motivated Porsche in Germany to get competitive to drive sale - the concept of the Speedster was born.

Jerry Miscevich saw a photo of the 1929 Packard Boattail Speedster and spent the next 20 years thinking about it. Finally, he built a replica, the same way they built the original
And Jay Leno interviewed him
Just like Packard, Miscevich got his hands on a 626 chassis and the engine from a Super 8. Then he got to work fabricating the rest of the car, modifying existing parts and using authentic ones where he could for the next 19 years
