SoundCloud Freebies from the Powerpopulist Archives

As promised (admittedly eons ago), here is the SoundCloud installment in our series of free and legally downloadable powerpop, indiepop, janglepop, etc., etc. songs from the Powerpopulist Archives. We checked just before posting, and all the songs below are shown to be downloadable. (Be advised that sometimes a song that is supposedly downloadable proves not to be so when click comes to shove.)

You can download in a couple of ways.
From the Widget Below
1. While a song is selected, either click the download arrow or
3. Click "View track" and then at the song's SoundCloud page, click "More" and choose "Download file."
4. BTW, not tryin' to toot our own particular horn, but unless you like songs to screech to a halt, this might be a good time to practice our little tip on using your Mouse Scroll Wheel.

From the playlist at SoundCloud
1. Hover over the song and click the 3 dots at the far right of the line.
2. Choose "Download file."

As peviously promised, we've still got a bootyload of old-fashioned word-linked mp3s rounded up and ready to post. Yeah, it might be an eon or two before we do it, but we're still a blogger whose intentions are good.

The three Bandcamp freebie posts can be found here, here, and here.

Note: Song #27, "When Worlds Collide" is by The Colors.

New Soft One From FUR + A Fave from 2017

The Brighton lads' retroish "If You Know That I'm Lonely" was one of our very favorite songs of  November/December 2017, indeed for all of last year, and now they have a new one. Tracking down "What Would I Do?" led us to their SoundCloud vault, where we found that "Lonely" plus several earlier tunes are available for free download. Explore below, see what you think, and take it from there.

SoundCloud 9: Echo Ladies, HYLA, Spinning Jennies, The Sky Drops, Mr. Elevator & The Brain Hotel, Viv and The Sect, The Phantom Sound, Hollow Trees, The Colors

Looking over our list of free and legals from SoundCloud we discovered a bunch we like or love but, to our horror, hadn't yet posted. So here they are, beginning with the most recently found (although not necessarily most recently recorded). They cover quite a range of genres and moods, so be prepared. Click the down-arrows to download, except as noted.

And here's a nice little Baroque pop number that's downloadable but, for some reason, unwidgetable (by us anyway). Listen to it below via YouTube if you, like, want to.

While Songdrop Sucks, We Stream: Beach Slang, Kestrels, Death By Unga Bunga, Violent Change, Linn Koch-Emery, Telempathy, Kleenex Girl Wonder, Mumrunner, Painted Zeros, Grandaddy

We probably do, too, but at least the songs don't.

We would have had the songs below sucked into our Songdrop Currents 3 mixwidget, but Songdrop's been sucking by not so sucking for a week now, and the backlog's getting out of hand. Thus do we take emergency measures. We love or very much like the following:

Our Latest Lode of SoundClouds: Tibet, Brilliant Beast, Mystic Braves, Shrinking Violets, The Black Watch

In a previous time it might have been called "waxy buildup." In the new era it's more like "a deluge of delightful digitals" a-crowdin' into the Powerpopulist Green Room. We hope you enjoy and maybe even want to download some or all of these recent finds at SoundCloud.

Access the Cardiff band here and here (additional free and legals).

Visit these Minneapolis gazers here and here.

B-b-but, pp, you said "SoundCloud." And "download." Lying son of a bachelor! Cálmate, chiclets. Click here for the free SoundCloudownloadable. And click here to hear their fabulous new LP, Days of Yesterday, just released last month. They're from L.A. and approachable at Facebook.

Visit the Redditch band here.

The L.A. veterans just dropped their 13th LP, Highs and Lows. Visit them here and buy it here.

And we noticed Fanatic is still making a longtime fave of ours available for free download.

SoundCloud Songs That Wouldn't Drop: OBN IIIs, Triptides, Blossoms, Holy Springs, La Bête Blooms, Pretty Vicious, DeadwolfOfficial

How could so much pleasure flow from such a sad postitle? Well, you're about to find out. So, yeah, on the left side of this blogpage we mostly post free and legal downloadables. We put others we like over in that Songdrop widget in the upper right. But what if Songdrop can't or won't drop songs from SoundCloud??? That's been happening a lot lately, so here are some songs we like that wouldn't drop.

Here's one that wouldn't even widget. Sheesh. Click on the link to go hear it.

Still Afloat at SoundCloud: Dead Parties, Colored Lights, Funeral Advantage, Averkiou, King Kartel, Tusks

We've struggled through the week regretting we hadn't shared with you all we'd recently found at SoundCloud. So let us try and make partial amends with a baker's handful of songs we're loving. This still isn't all we've found there, so the struggle continues.

That previous one we posted by these Barcelonaussie charmerchimers is still downloadable here.

Freely download the Norsemen's song here.

Face off with the Beantown band here.

We recently posted some seven-year old songs by this Gainesville group
with the unpronounceable name. This younger song is downloadable here.

We also posted one previously by this Manchester band, and it's still here!!!

Visit the excellent Brighton band here.
Update: They seem to have negated its freebietude. Usually
we respond in kind, but what the Hades, let it stand.

Custom Made for You: Feel Weird, The Thing, Paper Apes, Human Hymn, The Astral Planes, Stereoma

Floating around on SoundCloud, we chanced upon an invigorating series of samplers from an entity called Custom Made Music. All the songs in the four samplers we sampled are available for free download. Forthwith, a few of our favorites.

SoundCloud Hopscotch Catch-Up, Episode 4: Omega Vague, The Pink Flowers, Charlie Belle, The Cannanes, Tallinn Daggers, The John Steel Singers (feat. Robert Forster of, you know, The Go-Betweens)

We wet ourselves with pleasure to receive a comment from someone saying they were enjoying this little SoundCloud series we've been doing the past few days. This post actually concludes what we had planned, but in the process we've uncovered a bunch more "'cloudies" we'd still like to post. We'll try to do so soon. We begin with our most recent downloadable Soundcloud discovery and work back toward the not-too-distant past. Previous posts are here, here, and here.

Monday Miscellany, aka The Return of The SoundCloud Nine: Pixies, The Medusa Snare, Gorgeous Bully, Ski Lodge, I Was A King, White Fence, The Everywheres, Day Ravies, Blood Sister

You might've noticed that yesterday's Miss Sell-a-Knee came all courtesy of Bandcamp. Well, the Equal Time Police (ETP) demand equal time for SoundCloud, so here we go. We used the word "recently" in yesterday's post. Well, some of the loved ones below are recent, but others go a little farther back in time. Therefore do we brace ourselves for the usual flingings of "Gee, pp, why can't you post music as it comes out instead of making us wait for, like, ever?" Harsh, but we're tough guy(s). We've built up scabs to protect us from such scabrous scat. Besides, you've probably found lots of them already and elsewhere, so ho-hum. Oh, hope you like. (Click down arrows or heres to download.)
