Trouble In Mind Reduces trouble in mind via Dick Diver, The Butterscotch Cathedral, Ultimate Painting, Salad Boys, The Resonars, & Much, Much More

So how do we feel when we find a song we paid for now available for free download? Spectacular, that's how. Which is why we're darned giddy upon receiving word from Trouble In Mind Records of their just released Sampler, repeatedly widgeted below.

And the tune in question? That excelente down there by Melbourne band Dick Diver. (You might have seen it in our recent pppurcha$e$ post.) We're also more than excited to post the ditty by Tucson-based The Butterscotch Cathedral, a side project of Matt Rendon of longtime faveband The Resonars. You've seen TBC several times in our Songdrop widget and indeed highlighted this very week in a Music of the Sphere post. We're also quite chuffed over songs by Londoners Ultimate Painting and Kiwis Salad Boys.

Oh, wow, UP were hanging with White Fence. (Hanging, get it? Yep yep.)

Click here for previously posted free and legals by The Resonars and hear below the widgeted newbie, The Resonars On Tour. Well worth 50 cents a pop.

More Resonars & More: Fogbound, Rosco A.K.A Sterling Roswell, Morgan Delt, Violet Swells, Orgone Box, Frowning Clouds, Doug Tuttle

Nathan Ford's excellent The Active Listener Sampler 16 has helped us keep that promise previously discussed here and here. (Thanks, Nathan Ford.) In addition to the excellent song by The Resonars, we're posting several other of the psych-pop groovers available for "name-your-price" downloading. One of the long-time pleasures of this genre is the creative bandnames associated therewith, so you'll also find numbers by Bat Faced Girl, Vintage Cucumber, Lunar Grave, etc., etc. Are you smiling yet?

This line is inserted simply to prevent your being freaked by a sky-high stack of eight (8) daunting widgets. Enjoy.

More Trouble In Mind = Less Trouble In Mind

To us promises are sacred, so constantly breaking them causes us no end of grief. Well, almost no end, because Trouble In Mind's 2013 FALL(out) Sampler is letting us fulfill a promise we made several months ago regarding faveband The Resonars . . . with bonus expiation. In addition to the favesongs posted below you will find  beaucoup bon boom boom, all on a "name your price" basis at Bandcamp. And so we find our minds at least temporarily becalmed. Thanks, Trouble In Mind, for Less Of Same.

Oh, and you really should check out TIM's Stax-O-Trax sampler from November 2012, with 16 nifties by The selfsame Resonars, The Wrong WordsMikal Cronin, Jacco Gardner, etc., etc., ALL for $1.00. Yes, $1.00 TOTAL. $.0625 per song. Do we belabor the point? Uh-oh. Are we making it clear? Bon.

The Resonars

Rest assured that any time we find something freely dlable by this Tucson faveband, it shall be placed within your reach post-haste. (It is in fact happening in this very post, duh.) Follow the labels to previous resonances.

Psych Pop Bonanza at The Active Listener: Resonars, Galileo 7, Prince Rupert's Drops, Laurels, et. al.

An unassuming search for ppfaveband The Resonars turned up a treasure trove of pop psych and more psychy psych at Bandcamp. The Active Listener blog has been getting permish from a bunch of psych bands to publish psychedelic psamplers for the last three months. The compilations can be found here, here, here, and here.

We dug pretty much every song but, our blog being what it is, we're naturally going to post some of the more poppy psych. If you want to delve deeper, go there, there, there, and there.

Some of the widgets below say "Share" and some say "download." Rest assured, though, that if you want to grip the songs below plus scads of others you can download all four compilation LPs for name-your-price download.

Many thanks to The Active Listener for its awesomeness.

Oh, one other thing. Please notice on some of the Bandcamp pages the extensive links to other pages on many of the bands. We haven't even begun to scratch that itch, for most of the bands at least.

We're just throwing in this line to break things up a bit.

Oh, and Happy Val's Day.

Music of the Sphere: Resonars, Arlo, Left Banke, Pale Saints, J Coulton, Andrew W.K., Boys, FIDLAR, Bass Drum OD, Wax Idols, et. al. . . .

"Right, that's it, time to post." Thus spake our tiny brain upon finding that excellent song by The Resonars at The Finest Kiss. We're also pretty excited about the other fine tuneage we found at some of our favorite blogs. Thanks, favebloggers, for making us feel that way.

Arlo - Runaround - Peter's Power Pop

The Boys - Do The Contract Hustle - Raven Sings the Blues

Reading Rainbow - Runaways - The Pop Filter

FIDLAR - Oh - Pitchfork

Andrew W.K. - She Is Beautiful - Star Maker Machine
Jonathan Coulton - Chiron Beta Prime - Star Maker Machine

The Resonars - The Golden Age - The Finest Kiss
The Left Banke - Pretty Ballerina - The Finest Kiss
Pale Saints - Sight of You - The Finest Kiss

The Proper Ornaments - Who Thought - Austin Town Hall
Cinema Red and Blue - Walkin' To The Cemetery - Austin Town Hall
Black Twig - Death Scene - Austin Town Hall

Be forewarned that some of this next lot are perhaps a bit harder hitting, perhaps a bit rawer-edged than some pure poppers might prefer. We're not calling anyone wimps and such, just giving a little headsup. Just because they rocked our little world doesn't mean they'll do the same for yours.

Bass Drum of Death - I Dunno - Gimme Tinnitus
Roomrunner - Spinning - Gimme Tinnitus
Roomrunner - Aesthetic - Gimme Tinnitus
Parts & Labor - No Nostalgia - Gimme Tinnitus
Psychic Ills - Mind Daze - Gimme Tinnitus
Wax Idols - Dead Like You - Gimme Tinnitus

Tennis System - Hey, We Tried - Gimme Tinnitus - Wait until at least the 1:20 mark before making any drastic decisions. It picks up pace quiet nicely.

Cloud Nothings - Stay Useless - Gimme Tinnitus
Future Of The Left - i am the least of your problems (demo) - Gimme Tinnitus
Diehard - Back to the Future IV - Gimme Tinnitus
Diehard - Diehard - Gimme Tinnitus - Wait until at least :58 and especially 1:06.
Hunters - Brat Mouth - Gimme Tinnitus
Su - Mountain - Gimme Tinnitus

Incidentally, several years ago we bought at eMusic a bunch of songs by The Resonars, including "The Golden Age," and have enjoyed the group's product immensely. We might mention that we finally found their latest, That Evil Drone, at Bandcamp a couple of weeks ago. It had appeared on many Best-Of lists for 2008, but we hadn't been able to locate it until . . . a couple of weeks ago. We could easily understand why it made those lists. Here's an example.
We don't usually post strictly streaming tracks, but in this case were willing to make an exception. We feel kind of weird but also very, very fulfilled.
