Imperial Knights - Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum - Cerastus Knight Lancer #4

Here is the fourth and final of the Knight Lancers for my Cerastus Knight Lance of Legio Astorum. Vassal Knights are those bonded to a Forge World, not like a Household of Knights which may come from a world's noble class. These are seen on Forge World Lucius, where Legio Astorum hail from, as stalwart defenders of the Forge complexes. Rapid reaction forces and escorts to the valuable God Engines of the Legio.
This is Sir Alarbus riding Cerastus Knight Lancer 'Astra Fury', the more dynamic of the poses so far, the raised left leg is supported with a brass pin from the base to evenly distribute the weight.
I added some foil gauze to the foot cavity to add depth and detail. You can see the black pin drilled into the foot and base for stability and the rocks for weight to prevent the miniature tipping forward easily and help stop the base from warping shape over time.
The shock lance is magnetised at the elbow for ease of transport to Titan Owners Club events or battles at a mates house.
The Ion Gauntlet Shield sports the star map icons often found on Legio Astorum God Engines.
The completed Lance.

And that is Knight 25 done:
Knight Seneschal: High King Lucius Darius riding Dominus Castellan 'Adamant Wrath'
Knight Baron: Baron Tybalt riding Questoris Warden 'Triumphal'
Knight Scion: Countess Joscelin riding Dominus Valiant 'Iron God'

Imperial Knights - Acastus Knight Porphyrion Proxy - COMPLETED

Hello All, thanks for dropping by. Well I bought this on a well known auction site but it turned out it was 3D printed so I decided to build and paint and move on to fund an official FW purchase. Here it is completed and ready for distant shores.
I chose House Terryn as its ripe for re-homing. And a fairly familiar scheme as its just substituting cream for yellow to make Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum.
As proxy 3D sculpts go, this was a good one, hghly detailed and not far off FW quality, no warping but instead the giveaway is print lines and stepped curves.
The Terryn icon proudly on the flanks and pauldron.
The sensor cluster (head) I had painted Astorum yellow before I decided to re-home, but it suits the scheme regardless. I hand painted the chequers on the face gorget. The official model has a engraved cross where the horse decal is. That's where I confirmed it wasn't FW, but as a decent kit otherwise I chose to build, paint and move on to fund an official one - the official FW model can be used at our Titan Owners Club events - we like to support FW as we want more titan goodness in the future in uncertain times for the design studio as most of the catalogue has moved to plastic and only specialist models remain.
The pilot access hatch is adorned by the crest of House Terryn
I added heat staining on the barrels of the twin-linked Magna Lascannons
The Ironstorm Missile Pod adorns the rear of the carapace, and the secondary Lascannons are on the front of the hull
The banner details the exploits and kill markings
And for practicality it is magnetised at the waist for transportation or storage.

Cheers, Siph (25pts - almost a Warhound Titan!)

Imperial Knights - Acastus Knight Porphyrion Proxy

Hello All, and budding Knight Scions, a huge addition to the Imperial Knight forces, though numerous and aligned to Legio Astorum Titan Legio, they lack serious titan-killer firepower themselves, enter the affectionately named "Murder Turtle"... a somewhat overpowered Acastus Knight Porphyrion (at least in AT28mm where most of the titan action occurs). This will also be an allied Household to the Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum, but this time (mainly for re-sale opportunity) House Terryn.
Lots to do so I started on a few of the smaller bits and pieces first, cables...
I then progressed to the armour plates and legs section - once these were done, I fastened the Armour Plates to the endo-skeleton leg structure. Lots of trim! I will try to reflect what colours I use on my Knight Banner as to where I place red panels, personal heraldry etc. As this is a cheaper 3rd party print, I will not be using at Titan Owners Club Walk events as we try to support FW whenever possible and  Forge World models if they exist to support and hopefully stimulate titan development (Reaver still only has Apoc Launcher for carapace and it's long over a decade old, but Warmaster in 28mm will be gladly received if planned?!).
Getting there, legs now done.
So I will paint it up and sell to fund the purchase of an official Forge World Acastus Knight Porphyrion in due course, I have an Acastus Knight Asterius in the to-do pile. Painting as Terryn Household is quite easy for me, as they have the exact scheme of my Legio Astorum, gold and blue, just the creams on heraldic plates rather than yellows as seen on the Shoulder Plate above. In the meantime, I can game with it because House Terryn are an allied House to my Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum.
I've also purchased a couple of suitable sized oval bases to provide stability and match the Knight and Titan forces which are all based for my future resin Acastus Knights. More progress to be had and I'll report back here with photos!

Cheers, Siph.

Imperial Knights - Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum - Cerastus Knight Lancer #3

Here is the third of the Knight Lancers for my Cerastus Knight Lance of Legio Astorum.
This is the Baron Knight which leads the Lance. Sir Idae of Cerastus Knight "Stellae Glory". Hence the more static pose, directing his Lance of Knights and closing for the kill if needed in the thick of it. His banner sports two Warlord Titan class kill markings - so not afraid of getting into the action! The Baron rank is denoted by the two white stripes on the carapace, he also sports a heraldic shield on the shoulder pauldron.
The other difference with this Knight is the quartered knee armour compared to the one piece on the other Knight Lancers.
The rear - a lovely colour on the reverse banner, Krieg Khaki, needs 3 thin (great)coats...
The Ion Gauntlet Shield sports the star map icons often found on Legio Astorum God Engines.
Here is the first three Questoris Knight Lancers, just one left to go until I'll call the Lance complete. Baron Sir Idae riding Cerastus Lancer "Stellae Glory" leading from the front!

And that is Knight 24 done:
Knight Seneschal: High King Lucius Darius riding Dominus Castellan 'Adamant Wrath'
Knight Baron: Baron Tybalt riding Questoris Warden 'Triumphal'
Knight Scion: Countess Joscelin riding Dominus Valiant 'Iron God'
Knight Baron: Sir Idae riding Cerastus Lancer "Stellae Glory"
Knight Scion: Sir Sordhen riding Cerastus Lancer 'Ever-Stalwart'
Knight Scion: Sir Lewis riding Cerastus Lancer "Black Sun"
Knight Scion: Sir Geraint riding Cerastus Castigator 'Heretics Bane'
Knight Scion: Alpha Augreus Vladimus riding Mechanicum Cerastus Atrapos 'Ryh-83'
Knight Scion: Sir Selwyn riding Questoris Crusdaer 'Honour Intractable'
Knight Scion: Sir Greigor riding Questoris Paladin 'Oathkeeper'
Knight Scion: Sir Olwyn riding Questoris Paladin 'Honoured Vigilance'
Knight Scion: Sir Karyx riding Questoris Paladin 'Unyielding Astra'

Imperial Knights - Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum - Cerastus Knight Lancer #2

Hello Readers, thanks for dropping by. The second Cerastus Knight Lancer for my Vassal Knights of Legio Astorum, to accompany the first offering I did for Dreadtober 2024. My aim is to have a Lance of four Cerastus Knight Lancers to run at the next Titan Owners Club Beachhead 2025 Walk, nothing puts fear into a Warlord Princeps like facing a banner of Lancers coming at his otherwise impenetrable God Engine! But also, they die to well palced Belicosa Volcano shots!
This Knight Lancer sports a Taro Modelmaker Ion Gauntlet Shield instead of the stock wire frame shield. I have a few of these to do the rest of the Lance.
A Guardsman's view, a towering fast war walker Engine!
I plan to vary the decal patterns on all four Cerastus Lancers, the Pauldron shows the personal heraldry and the shin greave also mirrors this patter, taken from the Cerastus Knight decal sheets.
Another jousting Lance pose
The Lance is magnetised at the arm so the Knight can easily be transported to events without snapping or bending the model.
The legs were posed as wide stride across the base as I could without having to turn the base end on.
Here is Sir Lewis riding Knight Lancer "Black Sun" along with Sir Sordhen riding "Ever-Stalwart"

And that is Knight 23 done:
Knight Seneschal: High King Lucius Darius riding Dominus Castellan 'Adamant Wrath'
Knight Baron: Baron Tybalt riding Questoris Warden 'Triumphal'
Knight Scion: Countess Joscelin riding Dominus Valiant 'Iron God'
Knight Scion: Sir Sordhen riding Cerastus Lancer 'Ever-Stalwart'
Knight Scion: Sir Lewis riding Knight Lancer "Black Sun"
Knight Scion: Sir Geraint riding Cerastus Castigator 'Heretics Bane'
Knight Scion: Alpha Augreus Vladimus riding Mechanicum Cerastus Atrapos 'Ryh-83'
Knight Scion: Sir Selwyn riding Questoris Crusdaer 'Honour Intractable'
Knight Scion: Sir Greigor riding Questoris Paladin 'Oathkeeper'
Knight Scion: Sir Olwyn riding Questoris Paladin 'Honoured Vigilance'
Knight Scion: Sir Karyx riding Questoris Paladin 'Unyielding Astra'
Knight Scion: Sir Taurus riding Questoris Gallant 'Carnivore'
Knight Scion: Lady Natanya riding Questoris Errant 'Gloria Fury'

Imperial Knights - Questoris Knight Crusader of House Mortan

Welcome Readers, my latest offering off the painting table, a House Mortan Questoris Imperial Knight Crusader. A striking scheme and a change from doing my usual Blue/Gold Knights and Titans! A Black Knight.
House Mortan is an Imperial Knight house of the Questor Imperialis that is strongly aligned with the Imperium of Man. The antecedents of House Mortan settled the inhospitable Knight World of Kimdaria, the Black Planet, during the early stages of the Age of Strife.
By the time the antecedents of House Mortan had arrived upon Kimdaria, the mysterious nebula known as the Black Pall that surrounded the planet had grown unexpectedly dense. Fell creatures, already accustomed to the world's dim light, roamed the ink-black landscapes, and it was only through the skill and dedication of the colonists' Knights that the beasts were driven back and the first settlements established. Kimdaria was only rediscovered in the late 35th Millennium by the Imperium. Due to the millennia of constant patrols to keep the Death World's forests clear of predatory behemoths, the Knights of House Mortan have come to place great value upon close combat. The House motto is, "In war, show no mercy."
This was an eBay rescue, covered in dust and not completed. I recognised the livery and took task to repaint the armour and add all the details, drill the barrels and weather the endo-skeleton and heat stain metals etc. Luckily I had a set of House Mortan decals from the FW Imperial Knights sheet so I could do this Knight justice.
Here is the added details for the endo-skeleton, a splash of colour on otherwise plain metal frame. I really enjoy bringing Knights back from the abyss, or bringing them to life. Nice projects.
The armament is a rare one for House Mortan as they favour close-combat, as the home world darkness means closing with the enemy or fell beasts. So, I see this Knight Crusader as a support Knight, putting fire into the enemy ahead of the Household closing!
Here was the unfinished, dull and very dusty eBay sale. But now completely re-painted and back on sale on eBay in all the new fine livery and decals.
And House Mortan as featured in the Imperial Knights Codex

Cheers, Siph (10pts - as re-painted Armour)

Dreadtober 2024 - Pledge Complete - Imperial Knights - Cerastus Knight Lancer

Hello Dreadtober-teers and Readers all, thanks for dropping by. I have completed my #Dreadtober2024 pledge in the form of a Vassal Knight of Legio Astorum, a Cerastus Knight Lancer, resin kit from Forgeworld. This will be the first of three (others plastic kit from GW) to make up a Banner of Knights when we do Titan Walks at Titan Owners Club, using AT28mm rules.
The Lancer is astride a tactical rock like all good Knight Senschal's should be. I think the more static pose of one of the plastic Knights will make the Senschal of this Banner, but for now - this is the solo Knight. Sir Sordhen riding Cerastus Knight Lancer "Ever-Stalwart".
I did a rather understated muted blue glow of the Shock Lance and Ion Shield, but I think they look quite good so I am quite happy with the effect I achieved through dry brushing.
The en-guard pose, shield up and lance at ready I am quite please with.
The remenants of an enemy Knight Questoris lay at the Lancer's feet. House Malinax is missing a Knight...
Tacticool Rock for the Win!
Here you can see the guard pose I wanted to achieve, the Knight Helmet doesn't give the best field of view for the sensor optics, I'm sure there are more optics somewhere!
A close up of the Ion Shield
And magnetised for safer transport to Titan Owners Club events!

And that is Knight 21 done:
Knight Seneschal: High King Lucius Darius riding Dominus Castellan 'Adamant Wrath'
Knight Baron: Baron Tybalt riding Questoris Warden 'Triumphal'
Knight Scion: Countess Joscelin riding Dominus Valiant 'Iron God'
