Deathwatch Marines - Reivers and more Characters - Done!

Hello all,

A crazy few weeks, but have got several bits complete to add to the growing Deathwatch force. I've got done, a Captain, a Lieutenant, 5 Reivers and a DKK Siege Drill

Captain

I've completed a Deathwatch firstborn Captain with a Jump pack, armed with a Thunder Hammer and Shield, The perfect combo for full assault tactics! The Marine is from the Sons Of Medusa Chapter.

Lieutenant

This marine has been sitting in the pile of shame for some time - this was a Games Day I picked up years ago, based on the cover art for 2nd Ed (I believe..) I've converted the Left arm so that he now has the DW symbol on his pauldron. The model has been painted with the normal DW scheme, with touches of the original art - the flame patterns and Yellow Bolter!

5 Reivers

These guys have had parts from other minis added, and then used the same style of 'camo' as my Eliminator squad- with the Tau inspired camo phasing from camo to armour. Really happy with how these guys look. I am really happy with the Serg' who appears to be going 'SShhhhhh...' to his next victim.. very Ork Kommando-style!

Death Korps of Krieg Siege Drill

It was with the Krieg stuff years ago and I believe bought at a Games Day some 15 years ago.. I've opted for a DW style scheme for this - I can image the DW using it to penetrate a Necron tomb, or other Xeno threat!

Thanks for looking! LH (30pts)

Squaduary 2023 - Relictors Chapter Space Marines - Primaris Reivers - COMPLETED

Good day Squaduary Partisipants and dear Readers, thanks for dropping by. I have completed this year's pledge to do an unloved and overdue squad from the to-do pile. Here is my offering to the paint Gods.
I found it hard to get motivated to paint some 'tacticool' Phobos Marines, eventually when I came back from Titan Walk event and then concentrated on these, I then dropped back into the familiar greys of Relictors and enjoyed the process.
I opted not to paint his respirator canisters red like GW, he has the same grille design as his squad but the knee is detailed in bone like the Primaris Intercessor Sergeants have, and the Squad number is 7, traditional Battle Companies have 1-6 Tactical, 7-8 Assault and 9-10 Devastator Squads, so these reinforcements have continued the tradition. Not aligned to any particular Battle Company, these Primaris reinforcements maintain a grey Relictors trim on the Pauldrons, not the Black or Green of my 5th and 4th Companies.
An arm swap and head angle change makes these two identical Troopers look different.
These two are the other pair of identical Marines, also swapped arms with the other pose.
A few blogs out there are continuing Squaduary events, 262nd Krieg Blog, DAM is doing well with his Dark Angels, check 'em out. Well I have enjoyed Squaduary, another Squad lurking on the to-do pile now completed! I've enjoyed checking out DAM's progress and hopefully a few more people will uphold the tradition of Squaduary.

Cheers, Siph (5pts)

Squaduary 2023 - Relictors Chapter Space Marines - Primaris Reivers - End of Week 3

Welcome Readers, thanks for dropping by. I have continued my Squaduary pledge this week with the start of laying down some shade and finishing basecoats of the Relictors Chapter Space Marine Primaris Reiver Squad. I had already done the basic base materials so this final week I need to concentrate on the highlghts and the details. I did less than I wanted this week due to other hobby distractions, however I'm sure I will still get these finished by the end of the month!

Squaduary 2023 - Relictors Chapter Space Marine Primaris Reivers - end Week 2

Welcome Reader, I have continued my Squaduary pledge this week with the start of laying down basecoats of the Relictors Chapter Space Marine Primaris Reiver Squad. Last weekend's Beachhead Walk event with the Titan Owners Club was a blast, so I haven't had much time with these.

Squaduary 2023 - Relictors Primaris Reivers

Welcome Reader, I have continued my Squaduary pledge this week with a simple build of the Reiver Squad. A bit of a cop out with progress as I have been busy with getting a Warlord Titan ready for this weekend Beachhead Walk event!
These are push fit Primaris Reivers, and as such were only in three designs, so some arm swaps and head rotation and I get five individual looking Primaris Marines in Phobos Armour.
Two troopers, identical bodies
The other two twins, now with different arms.

Right that's it for this week Squaduary, I will get some paint on these and start the process proper after this weekend's Titan Walk!

Cheers, Siph

Its that time of year again! - Squaduary 2023 - Primaris Reivers

My calendar year has two hobby community highlights I partake in, October "Dreadtober" and February's "Squaduary" - and its February so it's time I grabbed something that has been sitting around on the painting desk for all too long and got it finished! Thanks to DAM at 262nd DKK Blog for the timely reminder!
Squaduary was run by Stepping Between Games blog, Thousand Eyes used to plow through the interwebz and Instagram for the Squaduary pledges and pooled them together. This has now fallen by the wayside but I may have gone and continued my hobby now-tradition last year even if officially there wasn't one, and a few of the community continued too.
In 2022 it was a Squad of Bikers
In 2020 it was a Devastator Squad with Heavy Bolters
In 2019, I completed a Vanguard Squad of Skitarii for my growing AdMech army.
In 2018 it was a Squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.
And in 2017 it was the first squad of RTB01 Beakie Marines.

So, this year is a long overdue squad of push-fit Reiver Primaris Marines! I haven't actually any Reivers built so these will be a start, just a squad of five as my OCD doesn't allow six!
Wish me luck and join in if you want! And make sure you check out DAM's Dark Angels at 262nd DKK Blog. My initial progress may be slow as I have a Warlord to finish before Beachhead on the 11-12th Feb!

Cheers, Siph

Primaris Intercessors and Reivers from First Strike

Hello All, following on from last week's First Strike Boxset forces of Chaos, this week is the remaining boxset on the loyalist side. I know, very similar to my Relictors grey scheme, but not quite, more like Revilers with the grey pauldrons, anyway I digress... I finished off the box for my Wargaming Professionals and as asked, did a Navy spin to them with Battleship Grey Marines and Desert Camouflage Marines with Green Berets!

Primaris Intercessors
I really enjoyed the familiar grey scheme, more of that in a future post regarding the Primaris and Relictors being excommunicate etc.... I'm seeking clarification from GW after a few things I've seen in the official publications... anyway, this Marine is holding an Auspex, I detailed the screen with radar blips and used Skeleton Horde for the parchment. The Bolt Rifle received attention to the scope and 'laser optic'? Primaris are soo easy and quick to paint, a dream after the enjoyable but ever-so detailed Plague Marines!
The standard Marine, I used my usual colours on the Bolt Rifle, brassy magazine for a spot of colour, black casing for ease of painting, and chose Black Rims on the bevel edge with 'Ardcoat to protect them from non-wargamer usage!
The Sergeant not wearing his helmet as usual, the face was easy with Kislev Flesh, Reikland Wash and Kislev highlights, his hair styled on my own :) obviously! haha.
Navy Marines proudly displaying the White Ensign

Primaris Reivers
The Reivers were painted with Zandri Dust basecoat, washed Agrax and highlighted with Karak Stone. Then the details applied. I chose to keep the pouches a leather brown, Mornfang washed Nuln Oil and a line highlight of Balor Brown.
I went for a desert style colour to differentiate from the Intercessors and more suiting for the Anvil Industry's Beret Heads with Respirators so the guys with the big knives can proudly wear their Green Berets! More fitting to reflect the IRL colours of the Bootneck's daily working uniform MTP.
The Sergeant has a Bionic Eye and a halo marking on this knee and the comms bracelet on the forearm.
The two line trooper Reivers both have full face respirators. All have the grey 'Chapter' grey White Ensign pauldron on the left shoulder, and these have the Assault marking and squad number on the right pauldron. All have a plethora of pouches and grenades and I painted the casing of the Heavy Bolt Pistol in desert colours too, to look more tactical.
There you go, an enjoyable side project to sate the hobby butterfly and get the cogs whirling for my future Primaris forces. The are quite easy and fairly fast to paint, Intercessors anyway, clean lines and smooth uncluttered plates.

Cheers for looking, Siph. (6 points)
