Bjerga/Iversen - The Smallest Roads Are Paved With Bricks of Gold CDR

My time is very limited these days due to work and family, so posts will probably be scarce. So, the return to writing here will be marked by a return to Bjerga/Iversen after quite some time, with one of their most hypnotic drone-centered recordings, and more specifically with a sci-fi/spaceship sound that has a soundtrack feel to it. 2006 cdr on Celestial Jars.

Star Turbine, Inseminoid, Fordell Research Unit, Xazzaz ‎– Nundungeon cdr

On this 4-way split that was made for a gig in Edinburgh, we have Star Turbine (Sindre Bjerga and Claus Poulsen) making low-end dictaphone drone that is amazingly effective in its decaying tape sounds, Inseminoid offering hypnotic harsh noise/drone, Fordell Research Unit creating spooky sci-fi UFO drone, and Xazzaz destroying amps with his gruesome harsh guitar noise. 2014 cdr on Gold Soundz.

Bjerga/Iversen - Untitled 2 X cdr (1000+1 TiLT)

This is probably the first release ever made by the highly prolific duo of Bjerga and Iversen, so many releases of whom have been posted here. Not as much focused on drone, this one has wildly exploratory tendencies, ranging from deep bass tones to Coil-esque psychedelic synths and from elemental old-school techno melodies to harsh noise wall. Weirdness abounds. 2004 2Xcdr on the legendary Greek label 1000+1 TiLt.

Sindre Bjerga - Fabio Orsi - Faded Brown And Grey cd

Awesome electro-acoustic drone collaboration between Sindre Bjerga and Fabio Orsi without hesitating to delve into noisier, more levitating atmospheres. 2014 cd on Korm Plastics.

Sindre Bjerga & Posset ‎– Jazz Hands, Bloody Jazz Hands tape (2016, Sound Holes)

Here comes Sindre Bjerga and Joe Posset Murray again, wielding dictaphones in one hand and Betadine oral gargle antiseptic on the other, roaming the streets of Gateshead to leave their salive on some random kid's neck. By now, you should have known what to expect; tape cannibalism of loops of TV shows and AOR and free mouth jazz played by people with over 70% disability. How these two weirdos found their way into this blog I don't know, but hey, if you are into that thing, well, I don't judge people. Damned Freaks. 2016 tape on Sound Holes.

Songs About Dying Compilation CD-R

I guess you expected this one would include "Don't Fear The Ripper" or maybe "Gloomy Sunday," didn't you? Well, no this is Pjorn 72, the label of Fordell Research Unit mastermind Fraser Burnett (we love him and his label compilations around here-check the tags) and this is a comp featuring many of the artists this blog worships and contains different styles. Lo-fi black metal by Incest Whore, horror noise by Scrim, a cappella folk by Wounded Knee, a black-metaly drone by Culver, computer noise loops by Dead Labour Process (great name), Popol-Vuh-like meditations by Nackt Insecten, space bubble noise by UFO Antler Band, an awesome guitar-synth mourning psychedelic hymn by Andy Jarvis, a menacing black hole drone by Sindre Bjerga and Meredith Hunter, fizzy drones by Fordell Research Unit, lo-fi dictaphone manipulations by Usurper, a huge sound drone-at-the-gates by Jazzfinger, heavy noise/drone by Shareholder, field recordings of the outdoors by Blood Stereo (Dylan Nyoukis and Karen Constance) and some more drone manip by Grant Smith. 2011 cdr on Pjorn 72.

Culver / Electric Omen ‎– split tape

This split tape was made in drone heaven. Lee Stokoe/Culver presents one track of detuned oozing muck and Sindre Bjerga/Electric Omen is offering a distorted wall of bass rumble and swirling loops. 2008 tape put out on a recyled cassette on Gold Soundz.

Electric Omen - Fog Circles/Ghost Clouds tape

Electric Omen is another project by our star Sindre Bjerga. No dictaphone sleaze here, this is low drone rumblings, a little bit like Culver or Earth 2. 2010 tape on Swim Harder Cassettes.

Sindre Bjerga - Infinity Machine tape

Sindre must really like Janis Ian because he sings again "The Other Side of the Sun" like on Black Paper Wings. I'm also almost sure that after the 4-minute mark of the third track, there's a sample of Led Zeppelin's "Black Dog," please confirm if this is so. If you dig sleazy dictaphone decay and gurgling in microphones, then you know that this is tha shiznit. 2016 tape on Coherent States.

Various - Bjerga/Iversen - Dissect And Connect - Bjerga/Iversen remixed

It's obvious Bjerga and Iversen are adored around these shores, so we'll buy other artists remixing them too, right? So here we got remixes by HOH, Robert Horton, Dead Wood, Andy Jarvis, Joe + N, Swamps Up Nostrils, Hrönir, Green Kingdom, Prester, Tzesne and Culver accentuating the most drone aspects of the Norwegian duo. 2007 cdr on TIBProd. and Gold Soundz.

Sindre Bjerga - Black Paper Wings cdr

More drone surroundings, dicta love and burping in front of the mic by Sindre. What is he doing right there at the end? Is he washing dishes while listening to somebody's walkie talkie? 2013 cdr on lf records.

Sindre Bjerga - For the Automatic People cdr

Scuzzy live dictaphone abuse by the Norwegian lover of onstage drooling, containing a decomposition of Janis Ian's radio classic "The Other Side of the Sun", various unintelligible pluckings and grunts, and generous doses of bass feedback and tape chewing. Gotta love the REM reference in the title too. 2016 cdr on lf records.

(PS. I forgot to ID3 tag the track. I discovered after I uploaded it, so I'm too bored to bother uploading again. Sorry)

Bjerga/Iversen ‎– Invisible Empire cdr

This wee cdr contains two different-sounding tracks. The first is a great drone hymn accentuated by feedback whistlings, while the other track is a collage of fuzz electronics, noise attacks and a sense of rhythm and melody. 2006 cdr on Nervous Nurse.
