A juggling act.

This time of year I keep the jam pot boiling and my artist brushes busy.
It's a juggling act.

The fruit is ripening and needs attention.
Red Currants first and then the apricots.

My owl didn't show up this year.  The marauding birds have become very brazen.
They have eaten every single cherry from our tree.

Can't make Kirsch Likör this year.

Have several commissions for hand painted tiles.
Have finished some of them.

Rows and rows of vegetables need to be harvested.
Dilly beans, or what I call cocktail beans,  go into jars next.

A hundred flower pots have to be watered every single day.

Pots get moved around to add color where needed.

Choke cherries need to turn black before I can harvest them.
Have to cover the tree with netting to save them from the birds.
Choke cherries make the finest pancake syrup.

Weeds are outgrowing the crops.
Must pull a few.

But there is always time to sit and admire Summer.

Hope your Summer is going well my dear
Blogging Friends.
I appreciate each and every one of you.  Thank you for your visit.

Just in time

You found us just in time...

Eureka! We have cherries this year.  More than we can use.  In the past we have had to fight the birds for the cherries.
Come on over and pick a few.

How do you get a net over a big cherry tree?  You tie a rock to the end and fling it over the tree, hoping all the while that it won't come flying back.

Of course, you can always get a few plastic owls with rotating heads, no less.
The robins immediately recognized the impostors.

You can have these too.  They're collecting dust in our garage.

What was needed is an honest to goodness real live owl.

She showed up just in time. From the very top she watches  over our cherry tree.

But now, my sassy little sparrows, who live in our red tile roof, have also disappeared.  I hear them complaining in a distant tree.

Have a great weekend my dear Blogging Friends.

I stepped out of the door early this morning

I wanted to see my Daises in the Morning Light

On the way I noticed my yellow Iris blooming

Birds were protesting loudly at the front of the house

She is supposed to be in the barn not perched on top of my upstairs window

Another hop and she would be inside our  bedroom

She sat there, waiting for the sun to reach her, not paying any attention to the outraged birds

Oh yes, the Daisies

And Verbascum on the way

I must go back inside...there is work to be done

Have a great weekend, my dear Blogging Friends
