First too hot and then too cold

It was 97 degrees Fahrenheit 2 weeks ago.  Unheard of for this high desert area.

And then the temperatures plunged to 27 degrees.

I knew that my 20 year old geraniums would not make it.  For three days they filled several rooms in the house.

Outside I covered every tender plant and seedling with whatever I could find.
Those round shapes are wire cages which I had just removed from my tender young trees.  Trees have to be protected from deer who nibble on the bark in winter and eventually kill the tree.

Finally, plants and furniture could be moved outside.

When  daisies begin to bloom, it is the sign that Spring has finally arrived.

Daisies will spread like wildfire which is fine with me.

Shady areas are now welcome.

Little Goslings are growing up.

And so is Sadie.

Wishing you a save and happy week,

Let me begin where I left off.

  It was still winter.

When my life changed.

And then the first bouquet from my garden,

Easter came and went

Little Sadie, a Golden Labrador arrived.

She had me fooled right from the start.

Daffodils and Tulips were next.

Daffodils reaching for skies so blue.

And Sadie is growing like a weed.

Lilacs didn't freeze this year.

Sometimes friends, sometimes not.

A sheltered spot is still needed.
The winds are fierce.

Daisies are back.
The garden is planted. Another garden year has begun.

Take care dear friends.

Never give up.

How many times will a garden freeze before the Gardener gives up.

My "Sensation" lilac froze this year but surprised me and rewarded me with a few second blooms.

Orchids will always reward you.  Good light and a little water is all they need.

The snow is still deep on Horseshoe Mountain Ridge...
it will be a good watering year.

My daisies are back after almost being wiped out last year by an overly zealous helper who tried to get rid of dandelions.

A new color of Foxglove?

Our little town celebrated Heritage Days this past weekend.

Many people came and bought.  My hand painted and simple bowls are still a favorite.

How is your garden growing?

Daisies growing everywhere

Daisies simple and charming.

growing in my Garden.

Growing under the clouds.

Enough to fill many buckets.

By the lake.

Beneath the trees

growing just around the corner.

Down the lane and to our house.

By the vegetable garden.

So many everywhere.

Thank you for stopping by.

Have a wonderful week dear friends.

This does not look like winter to me.

Even the Canadian Geese are confused

Most of them have left to wherever Canadian Geese go in the winter.
Only a small flock has decided to stay.

It's supposed to look more like this by now.

I'll pretend that last year's daisies are this year's snow.

In addition to our 3 domestic (white) Geese, there is, for the first time ever, an impostor.

He thinks that he is a goose, and maybe he is.

Have you spotted him?

Now you can see him.
I wonder what kind of goose he is.
Do you know?

Have a great week my dear friends.

Mon Bouquet du Jour

Daisies, simple Daisies.

They're not particular.  Daisies will grow anywhere.

Growing in profusion at the back of our house.

Inside or outside, always welcome.

Daisies are so obliging.  Scatter their spent flower heads (whole) wherever you want them to grow.

Thank you for stopping by. Your friendship is so appreciated.

Have a wonderful week my dear
Blogging Friends.
