Countdown to Halloween 2025 Day 30: Dick Tracy Halloween Special 2025

Mad Cave Studios released Dick Tracy Halloween Special 2025 yesterday just in time for Halloween. Cover A features Dick Tracy and Tess Trueheart standing on the steps of a very small haunted house. Cover B features Dick Tracy, Flattop, Zombie Dick Tracy and the Blank. The back cover features Zombie Dick Tracy and the Kid, who will eventually become Dick Tracy Jr.

The issue features two stories with the first being the untitled main story that shows Dick Tracy and Tess Trueheart meeting the Kid for the first time. The second story is titled "Witchsplaining" and features Tess Trueheart getting mixed up with the Witch Gang. Here's the official summary:

"THE GHOULS AND GHOSTS ARE OUT IN THE CITY – and so are some of Dick Tracy’s deadliest Rogues…or are they? As Tracy, Pat, Sam, and Tess try to piece together the return of one of The City’s most bloodthirsty killers, other Tracy baddies start to creep out from under the woodwork. But the heroes dig deeper into the twisty mystery and discover something new – and perhaps more sinister! Featuring the Mad Cave debut of one of the most iconic Dick Tracy characters ever – THE KID!"

Countdown to Halloween 2024 Day 18: Halloween at SuperCity

I have been playing a lot of SuperCity on Facebook this week. I created an area on the City Center map devoted to Halloween. There are haunted houses, ghosts, skulls, pumpkins, spooky lights and more. This is what the area looked like on my first attempt:

I won a lot of Halloween decorations and buildings while playing the airship event at SuperCity Islands that I had to expand the area:

SuperCity can be a little tedious at times but there are always special events around the holidays. Around Thanksgiving, I might scatter the Halloween decorations and buildings in either the Highlands or Enchanted Forest map and then create a Christmas area on the Snow Plateau map

Countdown to Halloween 2021 Day 25: Haunted Mansion CD

This Haunted Mansion CD is another one that I picked up at the local Dollar Tree a few weeks ago. The first insert exterior's left side has the track list that includes "Outside The Mansion" (Intro), "The Grand Foyer" - Bach's Toccata and Fugue, "Whsipers In The Library", "The Family Room" - Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata, "Chaos In The Kitchen" - Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King, "Laboratory Of Madness" - Gounod's Funeral March of a Marionette, "Chills In The Cellar" - Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue, "Toys In The Attic" - Chopin's Funeral March, "Hallway Of Doors" and "The Cemetary" - Bach's Toccata and Fugue (Reprise). The right side is the front cover with a spooky haunted house, bats, a full moon and birds on a barb wire. The text states "Haunted Mansion - Traditional Halloween sounds & music to greet your guests".

The first insert interior's left side has a list of credits including Tom Hambleton - organ, piano, harpsichord, music box. The right side is the same picture as the front cover but without the text and the birds on a barbed wire. It would make a cool desktop wallpaper for Halloween.

The second insert's interior features a slightly bigger version of the haunted mansion found on the cover that would also make a good desktop wallpaper.

The second insert's exterior, which is the back cover, repeats the track list. The top text states "Put the haunt in your house with this creepy collection of spooky sounds featuring Halloween classics performed on pipe organ, harpsichord and piano". The bottom text proclaims "Over 50 minutes of Halloween sounds and music produced by Tom Hambleton". The Haunted Mansion CD was made in Canada in 2000 (yes, that's twenty-one years ago).

Countdown to Halloween 2021 Day 1: Mtn Dew VooDew 2021

Today begins the annual Countdown to Halloween at Moongem Comics. I will be trying to post something spooky every day for the entire month of October.

Mountain Dew actually brought back their Mtn Dew VooDew back at the end of August this year with a new mystery flavor. I've been drinking a case of it for the past month and I think it tastes like blue raspberry. I really like the artwork on the box especially the haunted house.

Countdown to Halloween 2019 Day 12: Wooden Halloween Decorations

I picked up these wooden Halloween Decorations last month at the local Dollar Tree. Each of them has a loop of string at the top for easy hanging. I can't really see hanging these up but I thought the haunted house would make for a good backdrop for small toys. I still haven't got around to painting them yet.

Countdown to Halloween 2015 Day 17: Spookylicious Pop-Tarts

I actually managed to snag this year's Limited Edition Spookylicious Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts from Kellogg's in late September at the local Walmart Super Center. The front of the box is pretty cool with the haunted house in the background:

This is the left side of the box when the front is towards you. I like the unPOPular tart styles #20: DISCO-TARTS #boogiefever. This side gives you the directions on how to prepare the Pop-Tarts in English and Spanish:
Left side of Kellogg's Spookylicious Frosted Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts box
The back of the box is basically has a few toons but nothing really spooky:

I'm not showing the right side of the box since it features the nutrition facts and ingredients both in English and Spanish.

The Pop-Tarts themselves look pretty much like the one on the front of the box but the ghosts and moon pieces do not cover them as neatly. They taste okay if you enjoy chocolate fudge, which I don't and the orange frosting didn't have any taste at all. I wish Kellogg's would produce the regular size of Pop-Tarts instead of the sixteen count because it took me a while to finish these off. Also, the foil wrappers are just like the regular ones so it would have been cool if they made them a little bit more special.

Countdown to Halloween 2015 Day 8: Candy Crush Halloween

Yeah, I finally made it to the Halloween level on Candy Crush while playing the online game at Facebook. The games would have been cooler if they would replace the regular candy with Halloween candy like candy corn. I did like the sick vampire and the haunted house.

Countdown to Halloween 2014 Day 11: Kansas Halloween Lottery Tickets

The only Kansas Halloween lottery tickets that I found this year around here was the one dollar "Cash Galore" scratch tickets so I bought two. The scene includes a haunted house with a bat flying out and a full moon behind it. There are also a witch, a werewolf and a mummy approaching the haunted house.

I did win a free ticket so it was like buying two and getting one free.

Halloween Countdown 2010 Day 30 Bonus: Spooky Loot Kansas Lottery Ticket

Here is one of the Spooky Loot Kansas Lottery tickets but I did not match Dracula for a win (matching the broom for a hundred dollars would have been sweet):
